wow. didn't expect that honestly. i teared up a little even. i really thought she was going to pick the other guy. i felt like something had shifted with them and even though i did see that fire in one, i saw friendship and forever in the other. i don't know if i honestly think it will last now. just like Brad picking Emily who was the hot flame over Chantal who was the obvious match for him in terms of getting along and working really well together. i think they just get wrapped up in the romance and the passion and they pick the FLAME and not the FOREVERS. and that usually doesn't last. infatuation and passion can fade, but best friends are forever. thank God I married a man that was my best friend, then my lover that became the most sexy man I've ever seen in my life. i got the best of the passion and the long term friendship and real love. Biblical love, patience, kindness, are what i looked for, not just hot kissing and passion. sex gets old after years together. sometimes it doesn't even happen for weeks. it's the bond of friendship that keeps you married long after the sexual feelings. not saying all marriages are doomed to have bad sexual chemistry, but often that doesn't keep marriage perfect, it's a perk. it's the bond and the lasting friendship through every situation for the rest of the changing lives and growing together in friendship that lasts. sexual relationships can flame and fade and you just can't rely on that as the only thing you have together. i dunno i wish her well, but i don't think it'll last forever. |
alright i take it all back kinda. i didn't see forever but i just watched the final rose and i see it there. they could work. they can't stop kissing, they are sooo happy. luck to them both. i wish them forever and wedding bells. good luck |
I agree with you. I guess this is why I'll never be on that show. :p My boyfriend is my best friend, and I do see a forever with him. It's the only reason I put up with him being away for so long. I don't think this show gives the "contestants" a way to find a forever love. Trista might be the only exception. Meant to qoute rachel's first post. |
Glad I posted on this thread. Rachel's post is beautifully honest. I enjoyed it, thanks. I agree with those who have posted. The final rose showed a couple in love. Maybe it'll work. The odds are long, but Trista and Ryan did it. I suspected she was gonna go against her sister's advice. She went against the advice to stay away from Bentley. She's a rebel in that way. I hate the premise of the show. If it was just a dating show, I'd be cool with it. But the idea is to end in a marriage proposal. You can't rush marriage. Ben was humiliated because he was trying to do what the show told him to do. What bothers me the most is the show belittles marriage. It's a farce. How can you not know who your spouse is going to be a week before the proposal? My wife and I dated for a year and a half before we decided to get married. We had lots of ups and downs in that time, but we KNEW each other. We saw each other at our best and our worst before we decided to spend the rest of our lives together. The show doesn't care if the engagement will last. It's all about ratings. Ahh, but I'm a sucker for love stories. If my wife watches next season, I won't leave the room. ;) |

My DH hates the show but won't leave the room either. :D He always tells my girls if they grow up to be on that show he will disown them. LOL But he is the first to say, "how can Ashley be with Ben like that just days before she knew she was going to say no to him? |

Just finally catching up on this thread now :) Mind if I back track for a second? Wanted to give some thoughts on "Men Tell All". First - why did Nick (the personal trainer) keep asking all those questions to the other guys? I actually couldn't even remember who he was. Also, Ryan seems nice but 3 books of questions to ask? Definitely wants to be the next bachelor. He acutally seems kind of creepy to me. As for Ames - how sweet is he!!!:) Bidding for the mask to help the orphans...what a doll he is! Ahh I love Ames. I also think Michelle Money had a good point....I do wonder if she didn't warn Ashley about Bently if Ashley would have kicked him to the curb early on instead of being drawn to him. Leave it to that ****** Bentley to decline coming on the after show. William still makes me sick and I don't think he was sorry at all. He just realized he made an *** out of himself on national tv. Ok - now onto the finale. I read a gossip mag on a plane this weekend that spoiled who won but I still watched. Poor Ben was so hurt she should have NEVER let him get down on one knee. She should have stopped him!! As for JP not sure if it will work out for them...but you never know. I think Ashley's sister was acting a little too with her thoughts for JP. She came on a little too strong and opinionated...maybe she wants to be an actress? Regardless - I am happy Ashley's season is over...Now onto Bachelor Pad!! :) |
Honestly...what the heck. This for me was the worst season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette ever. Ashley has driven me crazy from day one. I don't like JP never have, but how do you act so into both guys and then break Ben's heart. I am glad she felt like a jerk, she should of. I also liked Ben even more when he wouldn't talk to her. |
