Alabama Tornadoes! Everyone in Alabama please stay safe tonight!!!!! I am seeing that besides the one today, they expect more later. |
My niece ls a teacher near Nashville, Tn and they sent them all home because of the tornados and storms. I hope everyone stays safe. |
Hope you all stay safe!!!!! |
I hope and pray it isn't as bad as expected! |
Huge, huge tornado leveled parts of downtown Tuscaloosa and is hitting dowtown Birmingham now...watching it live, have friends there...please keep praying. One fatality confirmed from this one ini Tuscaloosa so far, and it isn't over yet. :( |
I live in the extreme northwest corner of Georgia. We are under a tornado watch until 11:00 am tomorrow. Schools closed early, we have been duly warned to expect some seriously dangerous weather. Doing all I can to stay safe, but no use to worry - can't change the weather. A quickie storm around 9:00 am did considerable damage about 10 miles from me - it was believed to be a tornado :(. Saying prayers and asking God for intervention and safety -- praying especially hard that we will have a break in the bad weather for the wedding on May 7th. |
The tornadoes have been horrible. I am so sorry to see the terrible loss of life and property.:( |
I was watching the news earlier as the tornado was on the ground in Alabama. Misty (BamaFan121) lives near there I think. I hope that she and her family are same. |
I pray that all will be safe. I live by the Arkansas/Oklahoma border and I am familiar with the tornado scares. We had some scary stuff yesterday come through here. Wonder if you all are facing the same system coming through? Arkansas and Oklahoma has been hit by storm after storm. Heard about the Tuscaloosa tornado. Saying prayers for all involved. Will pray for Birmingham folks as well. Please all be safe!! |
I am just sick! I was just watching the weather channel and they said they were asking for a mass casualty trailer for the bodies in Catoosa County, GA.:( It's in the northwest corner of Georgia. |
I have not been following the news today, but this thread says it all. Sending prayers for all affected. I wish these storms would let up. |

Oh my goodness! That is terrible. Saying prayers for these families. How very sad. |
This was on CNN. At least 11 people were killed in Tuesday night's and Wednesday's severe storms in Mississippi, the state's emergency management agency reported Wednesday. This brings the three-state death toll from the Tuesday-Wednesday storms in the South to 37. In Mississippi, more than 40 injuries have been reported by local officials as a result of the storms, the agency said, and the number of deaths could rise. At least 25 people have been killed in Alabama, and one was killed in Arkansas, according to authorities. My husband's Expedition, which was on the other side of town at his brothers was squashed under a building though. But if that's the worst this family got, I consider us lucky! The big one that stayed on the ground across the whole state hit Tuscaloosa (missed the main university campus) and right outside of downtown Birmingham in some very heavily populated areas. What can I say? It's bad here. Really bad. Fatality count is already over 50 and it's just starting. The destruction is more than words can describe. Please keep this area in your thoughts. There are going to be some very hard times ahead for so many here. |

Yeah, it sucks, but luckily was just his work vehicle, not his everyday one. But when you look the big picture, a truck seems like small potatoes! My sis and her hubby, who live on the other side of Birmingham were nearer to the path of the big one that came through and were picking up trash from Tuscaloosa in their yard! They reported on the news that victims in one of the areas hit were being "brought out on doors and anything that could be used as a stretcher and many more were walking on the streets under their own power but with LOSS OF LIMB injuries!" :( Can you imagine? I cannot fathom the end result when I get up in the AM and all the reports start coming in. We actually had a small tornado hit our neighborhood last weekend--out of nowhere, very little advanced warning. Me and my daughter hid in the closet. The whole house shook and I thought it was going to come down on top of us. And that was NOTHING compared to what happened today. :( |

Oh my! That is awful! Glad that you all are ok. But really sad what you will see. Tornadoes are so scary! I pretty much freak out when the sirens go off here. Luckily we have a storm shelter. Rosie and I are the first ones in. Praying for all of you! |

Will continue to think of those in the path of these storms. Please keep us updated! Hope everyone is safe! The news said there have been over 200 tornadoes in the country since Saturday! This is just insane! |
