Here is my Jeep Patriot (except I have a sunroof on mine) -- a lot different than a Wrangler. I like the Wranglers but don't think I'd have one as my main car. Every one I've driven in is pretty bouncy and uncomfortable. But I'd like it as a 'fun' car! |
I have an 07 Civic Si, which I think is perfect for our situation. I don't haul big things around (for that we have a truck ;)) but if I need the extra space, the seats fold down and it really serves as my multipurpose car. :D You know what's funny? I purposely put Kaji in the backseat most of the time because the windows are smaller. He stresses easily and if he can't see, he has nothing to freak out about and will settle down. If I put Kaji's car seat in the front, the airbags automatically shut off. (not enough weight in the seat) I think as long as you upgrade to a newer model of any car (I'm thinking 06 and beyond) that feature will exist. I'll ask bf if his 06 Mustang GT has that feature, I can't remember. But I'm sure you can add that as a feature you want in a future car for Zoe's safety and your human passenger's safety. |
DH drives a Wrangler, and I agree, they are awful on gas and not a comfy ride for any long distance. But man are they fun in the summer! I have a grand cherokee and with 2 kids, I love it, I just wish it got better gas mileage. I get about 23 on the highway. I really like the new Equinox. My MIL is getting one, and they get pretty good gas mileage. |
My bf has a Toyota Camry and it works well for us and Layla, and it's pretty good on gas. I drive a Cavalier right now and it's tough to put her in and out of the backseat because it's only a two door  My airbag can not be turned off either, but in the Camry, it will only turn on if there's enough weight there. We switch cars weekly because we carpool together from our house, and I much prefer driving his car :D Oh yeah and when we pick up my brother's kids sometimes, they both fit in the back seat with booster seats and Layla is comfortable between them! I think it's a nice car! In the next few years I want to get a Toyota Highlander hybrid. Hopefully we will be married and thinking about kids by then :) It will be much roomier! |
