I upload my pics from my camera with my camera cord, those go directly into iPhoto. Then in iPhoto, you can easily resize, crop, edit, etc, whatever you wanna do. I always make mine .jpg and size medium to post on YT. I personally keep my pics in the 'My Pictures' folder and organize them into folders. So in iPhoto, I go to file and then 'export' and then you can put the pics where you want on your computer.... |
I've had a macbook air for the past few years. Loved it, so light, so portable. After I got my iPad, switched over to an iMac since I don't have to take the computer with me everywhere anymore. So iPad on the go, iMac at the office/home. And dropbox (dropbox.com) to keep all of my files synced. |
My son went off to college with his old laptop even though I tried to encourage him to get a new one. Finally, after he has fought one problem after another, he bought a MacBook Pro. He just called me tonight & was going on and on about how great it was. He says he wished he had it all along and will never go back. He is bringing it home this weekend and wants me to try it out. He says I will want one too. (He thinks I am made of money!!) :) I'll write again after I get a chance to try it out. I told him I won't know how to use it, but he said there is no learning -- it all so simple & logical. It was great to hear him so excited about it -- reminded me of when he was little & got a new toy. :) The only thing I cautioned him against the MacBook Air because he uses the CD drive so much. The Air does not have one, you have to buy one to use with it separately. He agreed that would be a pain for him. For me, it would be fine as I rarely use my CD drive. But he uses his daily. |

I do not like the Mac office program. When I enrolled in an Excel course for college, I realized how different this version is. I now have VMware Fusion, so I can operate Windows, which solved the problem! |
Both my girls went with the Mac Book Pro as their laptop for college. One LOVES it, one not so much. When they come home with them, DH is stealing them and won't get off. It's comical, but that's because before the Mac Books he was pretty much computer illeraterate. Now he thinks he's a know it all. I get a little frustrated when I try to use them, but that's only because I've had very little time with them since hubby is the hog. I do think they are worth the money though and I really like it when I get the chance to play too.:rolleyes: |
I didn't realize how expensive they are!!! Oh well....it's in my wish list now! I would really love to have one someday! |

Thanks Brit! I'm gonna bookmark this post and try it! I resize them and they still don't work for some reason. and when I upload from my Iphone they load in a "batch" not singly ......so THAT never works :rolleyes: |
My son & daughter both have the MacBook Pro for college, but my son ran into compatibility problems with it and ended up getting a loaded PC also, to run his engineering programs. Thing he likes most about his MacBook over his PC...battery life! |

one thing I always wondered.....if you are running Windows, are you not again susceptible to viruses? Probably the answer is "No...and that was a stupid question" |
I have a MacBook Pro and love it. Its 2 years old in August. I had a desktop dell and after a few months it crashed. I love the mac because i don't have to worry about anti virus programs, and scanning to see if there is any virus or anything like that. I dont have many programs, only a about 6 that didn't come with the computer added on additionally. It still runs as fast as day 1 I used it. I dont bring it anywhere I only use it in my home. The other day I did end up dropping it from 4 feet high and it landed on my left foot, and man did that hurt, but nothing wrong with the computer! Great computer, I will never go back to P.C. just because how easy it is to get a virus and how slow it used to be for me. Good luck in your search. |

Not a stupid question at all. I've been wondering the same thing. lol. Might be able to find out. |
I had a PC and was having problems, so my daughter talked me into a Macbook. At first I hated it because I was trying to make it difficult (as in PC) when it was actually simple. I have never had a virus and I run Windows on mine because I use a PC at work and transfer Excel data back and forth and present PowerPoint programs to the nursing staff. When I first got it I got the One on One program and took a couple classes just to get started but really didn't need it but do get the contract. |

I love my Mac desktop and I look forward to the day I replace my laptop with a Macbook Pro. Bitsy, if you go PC/Windows, I highly recommend Toshiba. |
