huh, I started posting in bright pink and then found it difficult to read so I clicked bold and italic to make it easier to read...I thought the colors made threads easier to read breaking up the constant black type-and this thin type is harder for me to read than bolded, never though pink would be part of rule #6 its just my fav. color, italic just makes reading flow easier to me. Wished someone would have at least pm-ed me that my posts were annoying to their eyes...especially since I post on here a lot. |

A lot of us have eyeballs that are over 40, and they don't quite focus as well. This tread wasn't just all about you, it was about sharing preferences. (And it's ok if anybody wants to slap me for using too many smilies:p) |

My eyes aren't old. I'm 25 and I have a hard time reading those bright pink, neon green, orange posts. I just skip them thinking it would be rude to tell someone not to express themselves as they wish. I'm kinda glad to know it is against YT rules to use bright fonts. Definitely add me to the optically challenged group. I also skip posts with no punctuation, or separation of paragraphs. I tend to lose my place if it's one long post. :p |
Well, sorry to anyone who had eye strain because of my posts and if something like that ever comes up again from one of my posts please don't hesitate to just pm me instead of having your eyes suffer every time you read a thread I've posted in. I actually tend to just stay in the general forum so I didn't see this until someone mentioned this forum in a pm and I thought to come check it out. Didn't realize how the bright pink might appear to others-but then again I'm sitting here with my background screen lighting on low light to prevent my own eye strain. Feeling silly atm actually, with a background in the optical field, I should have thought twice about the color font choice instead of just seeing pink and going for it. |
I'm always bothered by the colored posts and the REALLY long ones as well. I just find the colors distracting. I am also guilty of skipping over colored posts and barely skimming long posts as well. I like the idea of only using color to highlight a certain phrase of point to the post. |
