My mother needs prayer My best friend in the entire world, my mamma, needs prayers of comfort. I know of no larger prayer chain than the kind and caring people on YT. Thank each of you in advance for your prayers. I have posted in the past about my mother being on Hospice with the diagnosis of Vascular Dementia (Alzheimers). I knew the day would come but I'm just not prepared for it. It's not looking good for her. Her lungs are not functioning very well without oxygen. She panics. She is only drinking Glucerna and even that has slowed down. She sleeps all the time now. This is actually the first time that I have seen anything that would convince me that I am about to really lose my mother. It is now a reality. No one knows when God will call her home but I imagine it won't be long. I didn't know that a heart could literally ache and hurt like this. I'm trying to be strong but it's hard. Whenever I have to go shopping or to the grocery store or even just drive by places we both use to go together, I get sad. I don't even have a desire to do those things anymore. Thank everyone of you who are offering up a prayer or even sending good thoughts her way. I just want her to be comfortable and to die in peace. |
Praying for you and your Mother. |
I am so sorry you are going through this -- I hope you have a good support network of friends and family there in person. I will be happy to add your momma to my prayer list. I will pray that she's comfortable and that God makes the time she has left as pleasant and lucid as possible. I pray for you too, for strength, courage, acceptance and peace. I know this is such a difficult time. Watching as a loved one passes on is so very heartbreaking. We know they have more to look forward to on the other side but still we find it almost impossible to let them go, knowing how long we must wait to be with them again. Trust that she will be in the best of hands and you WILL be with her again some day. |
Oh Lila, I know how very hard this is for you and your family. I will continue to send prayers for your mother's comfort. Sending you prayers for strength. Know that we are all hear for you. I wish I could do more, but if you just need to talk anytime, send me a PM. Hugs ))). |
I am so sorry your Mother is so ill and you are facing her possible imminent loss. My prayers also will be that her time left is peaceful and pain free and that you can come to terms with her passing from this world to the next as an inevitable step toward God's plan. He will take over from this point and give her Glory soon and you the grace somehow to make it through the next hours and weeks. May His love surround and hold both you and your Mom. |
Sending prayers for you and your mother through this difficult time. |
Lila, my heart aches for you. I pray for strength for you and comfort for your mother. I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling. Sending  and :hands: your way. |
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your mother, I'm so sorry :( |
I am so sorry, Lila. :( There is no love like that of a mother and losing her is devastating. Anyone who has lost their mother knows that. What I will tell you is that in time you will know she is watching over you....just as you are now watching over her. I peace and comfort to her...and also to you. Prayers for both of you. |
Sending prayers for peace and comfort for your mother and you in this difficult time. |
I am keping your mother and you in my prayers. Having lost my Mom, I know the heartache you will be facing. Hugs. |

Sending you and your family prayers for strength. I know how you are feeling as my mom and I were best friends. We did everything together. I miss her dearly and think of her every day. The comfort that I have is my memories, they can never ever be taken from me. Hope you have the comfort to know that it is her time to go and you will see her again on the other side. Peace to you and your mom. |
I'm keeping your mom in my prayers. I know how tough it is and I'll keep you in my prayers as well. |
oh.. I am so sorry. I understand this is so very hard for you and I know it will be a test of your faith. Please try to think of the blessings of having the love of your mother, and I hope you can hold the memories in your heart forever. As long as you remember her and keep that love in your heart she lives.... and I believe in heaven so she lives. I send prayers for you and your family. |
Hon, I am so very sorry. My Prayers are with your Mom & you. May God give you strength now more than ever. I truly understand the bond you have with your Mother being your Best Friend. HUGS! |
Thank everyone so much for your prayers and your kind and caring words as they truly touched my heart. It means a lot to me to be able to come here and talk about my situation and know there are others that can relate. Thank you for adding her to your prayer lists. Today was a sad day. I spent the better part of the day with her and she never communicated with me. She woke up once very briefly, but her eyes looked as if she didn't know anything. Too sad.:( |
Lila even if she does not look like she knows what is going on, she may very well hear and understand. Just talk to her as if she is responding. :) Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. |
I'll bet she knows you are there and she is not alone. |

Hello all. I was with my mother again today. She was awake more today. When she began her panic screaming, I held her hand and told her everything was OK and that I was there. It did help to settle her down.:) Thanks again for the encouragement. I've read where the hearing is the last sense to go. So, I'm talking to her more. My faith is what is keeping me hanging in there. I know I will see her again one day, along with my dear daddy who died 4 years ago. |
I will continue to keep your mom in my prayers. We were fortunate to be with both my Mom and Dad at the end and I know they knew we were there. The day my Dad passed away he had been unresponsive all day. When my brother who never came to see him, walked in to the room, he responded to him. So they do hear you. Hugs. |
I'm sure that your Mom knows that you are there and you are a great comfort to her. Keeping you both in my prayers. Sending hugs. |
still here... you and your mommy are still in my prayers |
Oh my goodness, I am so appreciative of everyone's thoughtfulness and prayers. Mom had a pretty good day today (for the condition she is in). She actually was alert today and giving away lovin'. She had the sweetest look in her eyes when she looked at me.....it was a look of recognition and pure love. Although it didn't last very long, I will always treasure it. Her pastor came to visit today. By the time he got there, she was too tired to notice he was even there. I will pray that tomorrow will be a repeat of today!:) |

So glad you had a good day with your Mother. It is a great gift to have that recognition and some form of communication when they have been in that coma-like state. Prayers to you and your Mother. My mom died of colon cancer; and I figured out something worse than death - suffering. I pray your mother is not suffering. |
I'm so happy you had a nice day with your mother. I know it will always be remembered by you and I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs. |
