Scary Movies??
 
I was just wondering if anyone here likes scary movies and if there's any suggestions? :D It's hard to find good ones...:rolleyes: I have watched a lot and are running out of ones to watch :p

but i really like "the uninvited" and "orphan". i tend to like those psychological thrillers.

That is the one thing my son will still do with me; watch scary movies. We watched "Case 39" on HD the other night and it was really good! One of my favorites; scary with a good plot.

He's a big fan of all the 'Resident Evil" movies; I kind of like them.

We rented "Last House on the Left" but then both of us chickened out watching that one.

The Ring scared the crap outa me. Also, The Blair Witch Project. The Strangers freaked me right out!!!

I like my scary movies to have LOTS AND LOTS of blood in it!! lol (probably why i became a nurse) Anyways, my brother once asked me if i saw the movie "Hostel"...i said "yah..but it wasnt bloody enough for me". He looked at me like i have 5 heads LoL

I used to watch them, but I can't watch scary movies any more. We had a prowler in our back yard a few years ago peering into our windows, and I now spend a lot of time by myself and when I do, my imagination starts to think of all those scary movies, and that prowler, so I avoid them now. LOL:p:p But, have fun!

heheh I have watched ALL that's mentioned... except The Strangers. Thanks Wylie's Mom! :D Just added that to my netflix. The ring scared the heck outta me too!! I couldn't shower by myself for the LONGEST TIME! :p

Has anyone watched Silence of the Lamb? It's really good thriller. I also liked The Uninvited and The Orphan too! :D See why I ran out of scary movies to watch :p

To Cha Cha- I'd be scared too!!! I stay mostly by myself too now. I love watching it when my bf is home cuz then I feel protected. lol It's okay, I got my yorkies to protect me! :p Cuddling with Carmel ALWAYS comforts me :D

I got in trouble last time I went on a scary movie binge, lol. I love them, I watched "Let me in" and "Silent Hill" back to back, then add a little Freddy. I later woke the bf up when I shouted in the middle of a nightmare, lol.

If you want scary watch the original "When A Stranger Calls" it's hard to find but it will scare you!! I find mine at FYE

The Strangers is inspired by a true story (inspired, but not based upon). When/if you watch it, see if you can guess what it might be inspired by. I had to look it up afterward bc it said 'inspired by'. Very creepy movie. It even freaked the hubby out. I had a nightmare about it several months after I saw it. Still, it was a good movie :D.

I don't know why, but the film just sounds SO familiar... I just watched the trailer...I feel like I watched it already, but can't remember. I'm just going to watch it again! :D I'll let you know if it scared me after I watch it ;) Thanks!

Im a chicken when it comes to scary movies but there i am trying to watch them @ nite then i cant sleep, but i must agree by far The Ring scared me. I must have been scared for weeks @ nite :( ...A movie that i refuse to watch is The Exorcist...

I found the knocking on the door and asking for Tamara scary...I don't get the movie...:confused: I looked up the movie online to see what true story the movie is based on...Were you referring to the Manson murder?? Heheh please let me in on the secret. Oh, I also think I watched the movie awhile back...for some reason I still remember parts of it! :p

Aw darn! I think I talked up the scariness too much :)! It scared the crap outa me...and I had nightmares about something like that happening at our house. Yes, it was based upon the senselessness of the Manson murders...where the murderers are killing for no other reason than torture and their 'pleasure' of killing (rather than for, say, money or revenge or whatever)

Winters Bone was amazing!! It's not a horror movie, but it was scary/creepy in a very real life sort of way. Some of the best acting I've seen in a long time.

Winters Bone was amazing!! It's not a horror movie, but it was scary/creepy in a very real life sort of way. Some of the best acting I've seen in a long time.
:eek: I read this last night and I got chills!!! I was home alone and the knocking on the door scene of the movie came into my head :eek: SO SCARY!! I also did my research on the murder...TERRIBLE!! The murderers look so CREEPY!! This happened SO LONG ago...1969 WOW! I also read that the house has been remodeled and stuff...I would NEVER be able to live there...Just too scary!

It was long ago, now that I think of it. I was born in '68, but I remember so much about the Manson murders bc of the trials that went on for a long time. I remember high schoolers who would graffiti lots of school walls with 'Helter Skelter' in red. Those words scared me SO much...even though I didn't really know what they meant, back then.

I went to high school with one of Charles Manson's sons. It was never, ever talked about or made a deal of....the son is/was one of the sweetest, most gentle guys in our school. He still lives in Wis., where I went to school. Just some odd, related trivia.

That poor boy. Having Charles Manson as your father must be somewhat of a burden to bear; even if everyone else accepts you with grace.

Yeah, looks good. Question about the Last House on the Left; I rented it the other night and ended up (somehow) coming home with the 1972 version! Pass.

Anyway, before I rent the new one, is there nudity in here? I hate to watch those with my son. It looked like there could be so . . wasn't sure.

Also, is it super scary???

I didn't know there was an older version...Yes the new one has nudity in it.. I wouldn't actually watch it with kids. There are parts that are really disturbing... I like the end.. I don't want to give it away... But I don't think its appropriate.. I had to close my eyes:)

Hey thanks for the info. We love watching scary movies together; but it is VERY uncomfortable when there is a lot of nudity that I wasn't expecting. Usually Zombie movies are pretty safe - just blood and guts but not too much nekkidness. He's almost 16 so loves the scary part but doesn't like watching naked ladies with his Mom either. I'm so glad I watched Piranha alone - too many topless women!

Will have to watch Last House by myself or not at all.

Oh man hubby and I are HUGE scary movie fanatics! As someone mentioned earlier, I too love ALL the Resident Evil movies!

Now this is just me because I have a huge fear/phoebia of exorcism type movies or demons (but I love to watch these movies anyways :p) but "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" scared the blankety blank out of me!!!!!!!! :thumbdown I only watched it that once and then when I started waking up at 3 am :eek:....I threw the movie away! lol
My dh bought it again and I threw it away, yet again! I refuse to have that movie in my house!
I even stumbled accross some you tube videos at a later date that had interviews and pics of the real girl this supposedly happened to....couldn't finish watching those either. :rolleyes:
