This probably wont help but it my opinion those kids need punished for every single little thing that is broken or missing I have two kids My brother 11 and my sister 17. As you can guess sometimes they think they can fun over me because im not mom but I wont let it slide. Last week they lost the dustpan (one of them was cleaning and it got shoved under the couch) I made them sweep the kitchen with the mini broom ( Cleaning Products Mini Dust Pan & Brush Set (Pack of 24) Pack of 24 ) And then they found the dustpan I am very strict with my kids If one of them back talks no friends and no tv/computer for a week I even had to take books away from my sister the only thing to do it lay down the law |
I know it's frustrating and annoying but, really, sounds like teen-age boys all over the world. They are rough and lots of things get broken! I do agree that they should show some remorse and Dad should request they pay for broken things out of their allowance. Some accidents will happen though. I can't tell you how many of my things are misplaced because my son decided he needed some: scissors; clippers; brush; lint roller . . . you name it. Nothing gets put back where it was originally. But he works hard in school; at his sport; doesn't do drugs . . . I can live with it. |
wow-- you got a lot of good advice. Of course I am going to add to it:p It is your house too if you live and add to the running and support of the house. You MUST talk to bf... letting the boys get away with breaking the stuff must have consequences or he is enabling them Boys will be boys... just like we "baby proof" we must "teenage proof" our house. I hope it works out for you... sounds like you are having a lot of adjustment issues and stress!!! Good luck:p |
