10 Reason You Like Your Home Town 4 Attachment(s) I thought it might be fun to tell 10 reasons we like our home town and maybe one you don't like so much at the end. I'll start with CHICAGO, IL. although I haven't lived there in 50 yrs, I still consider it my hometown. 1-There is a feel the minute you arrive of wonder and excitment 2- The Chicago Cubs (best team that everyone loves)and White Sox so good pic given to me by Kristy 3- Millennium Park in Downtown Chicago 2nd pic 4- Best restaurants...they say if you ate at a different restaurant every day of the year you would not begin to have tasted them all. With the stock yards there you can surely get a good steak. 5- Great museums, people who hate museums love the Field Museum pic 3 6- Lincoln Park and Grant Park with lots of outdoor music Pic 4 7- Best Shopping, out of school, I worked on Michigan Ave. and it was hard to get home with a pay check. 8- Lake Shore Drive- a beautiful drive on the lake just north of downtown 9- The best transportation - a bus, L, subway or train available to take you anywhere. 10 One thing I love, is no matter where I go ; I meet someone who has lived or lives in Chicago and they all them to have a heart of gold The one thing not so good is since it is a big city there is more crime and where I live now there is zero crime. I'll take the crime :) |
So cool!! OK, most of us know I love my town, so this should be easy! :p 1- Everyone knows everyone (its small) 2- There is no crime, at all 3- Its kind of old fashion, and all the cute little stores are up on main street 4- Its RIGHT in the middle of New Jersey (we even got a plaque for it! :D ) 5- Its small, but has just about everything you want 6- Its very dog friendly 7- The schools are great 8- There are cool museums 9- There are a lot of historical spots 10- Its the best! :D One thing that's not so good is because there is hardly any crime, the police aren't as well trained for it as in other towns/cities. |
i dont like mine ive lived here for 17 years and hate it everyone is in your bizness ill just read how nice everyone elses is lol |
my home town consists of 2 small towns with 8 miles in between them. (in one county) i lived in mocksville nc as a child and in advance nc since age 10. both of these small towns use the same high school so you can imagine how everyone knows everyone! and i really like that. ok, here goes.. 1. we have restaurants that have been around for 40 yrs that have country cookin and barbeque. 2. we also now in the last 5 yrs have a mcdonalds, dairy queen, bojangles, taco bell, and a super walmart (walmart is brand new...i am talking it just opened about 2 weeks ago.) we have 3 steak houses on one end and a seafood restaurant on the other. (me and my family are seafood fanatics) 3. when i read the marriges, births, obits and court section of our newspaper, i can usually tell you who they are talking about. 4. we have a fun and trendy business for dogs and cats that is called "main street canines bakery and boutique" in our historical section of town. 5. we have a few new vet clinics, doctor's and hair salons. (have to love that!) 6. our area is full of friendly folks and most people know one another. 7. i met my first love here and my "only true love" here. 8. the town of mocksville has a very beautiful display of lights throughout the historical section every christmas. 9. there's always a yard sale around the corner!!!! :) 10. the only thing i don't like about my town now is that it's really starting to become over-developed and i fear it is going to ruin it's charm someday... |

I live in the smallest county in New York State. Nice suburb, lots of land, good schools, great place to raise kids, but the greatest part about it is that I'm about 45 minutes from the heart of Manhattan. So, when I'm bored or just want a change, I head for the city. I love New York City.. There is something to do every minute of every day. But, then its nice to come home and sit on my deck and listen to the crickets on a nice summer evening. |

I live in a very small town in New Jersey. I have lived in the same town my entire life, 43 years. 1. Small town 2. Great schools. (My kids have had some of my teachers) 3. No industries, business district. 4. Very small downtown. But it has what you need. 5. All the surrounding towns have a train station direct to NYC. (1/2 hr by train) 6. Everyone knows everyone. (I went to school with a lot of my kids friends parents) 7. Virtually no crime. 8. Lots of dogs. We have 8 Yorkies in our Neighborhood. 9. Great town for kids. 10. Sometimes I hate that everyone knows everyone elses business.... (NOTHING) is a secret. |
