Disappointed with Halloween Costumes 2 Attachment(s) I was disappointed with Trick or Treaters last night! No creative costumes! I remember working on my costume for weeks before Halloween when I was a kid! Now kids go to the store the night before Halloween and just throw something together. Did anyone see any creative costumes last night?? However, for anyone who has seen Napoleon Dynamite - this is my nephew and his friend as Napoleon & Kip. I laughed all day thinking about these costumes... |
What cute costumes... I rememeber getting so excited to come up with a creative costume and I agree, alot of kids today get store bought ones.. I think my best costume ever was when I was in 6th grade... I was the energizer Battery Bunny!! My dad made me my costume with a broken elbow and wrist!! i won 1st place in a contest.. If i can find a picture of it, i'll scan it in here and post it |
I get tons of kids where I live so I got to see quite a few costumes last night. I would have to say…70% were princesses or fairies—real girly stuff like that. And instead of bags and buckets for their candy, they had these cute drawstring purses. I have to say, I was pretty impressed. The kids in my hood went all out this year; they looked great. But yes, all store bought costumes, no homemade. |
Hahaha Napoleon Dynamite cracks me up :) Cute costumes!! Yea last night was pretty disapointing for me too. I was soo excited to take my neice and nephew and lilly my Yorkie out but at the last min my nephew got really sick with a high fever so I decided to stay home and try not to catch it :( And we dont get trick or treater here really so it was kinda sad :( |
most of my friends make their own. i loved seeing all their costumes, it was sooo funny. i LOVE making my own costumes, but i didn't try very hard this year. |
LMAO!! those Napolean Dynamite costumes are hilarious! |
1 Attachment(s) Very nice!!! At least you had trick or treaters....none here :( Well my grand daughter (3), she was Bat "gor" (girl) The big guy is her Daddy, my son as "Slade" Bat Gor's nemisis. lol |
I agree!!!! Everything was from the store. :( I just think that the parents just dont have the time!!! My mom always made our costumes every year, but she was a stay at home mom and had the time!!! I have had parents tell me that they wish they could make costumes like they had when they were little, but there is just not enough time. But I think you can always make time if you really want to!!!!! So going to the store is easier and quicker! When I was little, my mom even sold her homemade costumes at craft shows!!!!! They were always a hit!!!! |
we only had 5 trick or treaters this year! I have all this candy!!! i loved the pictures! we should start a thread for those that did dress up, i love looking at pictures :) |
We had suuuch cute costumes. We went through 9 regular sized bags of candy!!!! Tons of kids came! |
I am kinda annoyed that while driving to my church's fall festival yesterday, I saw many teenage trick-or-treaters and they were just wearing jerseys and skateboarding crap but I watched them go door to door for candy. Thats crap! My mom made my costumes when I was little too and they were awesome! |
3 Attachment(s) I didn't get any trick or treaters (well i got my 2 neighbors)... Josy and I went to see Saw II... As many of you know... Jody and I dressed up as a Met and Yankee fan.. I was a girlie girl Yankee fan that beat him up (its ironic because he is a bodybuilder so that was the funny part of it).. We had a really good time.. We are already planning next years outfits!! I posted these pics already but I'll post again |
I LOVE the Napolean Dynamite costumes! Your nephew's friend makes an awesome Kip! I love your nephews moon-boots!! Now those are some creative kids- I bet they were the talk of the town! FireFish- I also love Bat "Gor"! She is too cute! Having seen some pictures of your son before, it's just a shame that he chose a costume with a mask!! :p LOL! How's Jacki, by the way? |
I thought these costumes were pretty creative! http://www.z33driver.com/images/angi...Bday/iPods.jpg |

Those are cute and creative! Although they are kind of creepy looking! |
We got NO trick or treaters. I was so bummed. Next year the puppy and I will have coordinating costumes and show the apartment kids how it's done! |
ahaha. I love the napoleon costumes!!! We got a handful of kids with okay costumes. When I was a kid (oh so long ago, haha, j/k) it didn't matter how cold or how rainy it was, i walked around every block in the whole neighborhood. I always had to make a couple stops at my house to drop off all of the candy. My mom made most of my costumes so you know I was looking good, lol. Kids these days... |
No creative costumes came to my house, but my brother's costume was pretty creative. He and his girlfriend went as Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf. My brother, the wolf, had a wolf mask, granny glasses, a granny dress and sweater, hairy gloves, and a tail!! It was sooooo cute!!!!1 :D |

That's cute! My boyfriend and I always have costumes that go together. One year we went as the crocidile hunter and a crocidile, another year we went as Roy (or Sigfreid and...) and a tiger (I know it was in bad taste), another year we went as each other. That was my favorite. I wore jeans and his work shirt that had his name on it and a construction hat & he wore all my clothes. It was a riot... |
