Wow, creepy..... How about your pups? Do they ever bark for no reason other than something like that? |
Wow. I have always wanted to see a ghost. 18 months ago my father passed away suddenly. I am just devestated by his passing. We were so close and in sync with each other from day one(I'm 48). I had hoped that his spirit might visit me to let me know he was ok and that we'd see each other again...but so far nothing. I am an avid reader of Sylvia Browne, her books are amazing! I keep my heart and mind open and hope that my dad is around me but I honestly don't feel him:(. Maybe one day it will happen. |
I've only had one encounter with one of these, but I just figured it was because I was a bit sick, but who knows. I think I was just convincing myself that I didn't see what I saw. I had just moved into a new apartment, and my friend who had helped me get my stuff in there had just left. I took my shower and on my way down the hallway I saw something out of the corner of my eye. Whe I looked over I saw a man with blonde hair sitting on my moving boxes, he looked over and waved at me and I yelled and jumped back into my closet door (wound up breaking it - goodbye security deposit) and when I looked back he was gone. And for the duration of my stay I could never keep my porch door locked (luckily I was on the 2nd floor), I thought it bizzare but just told myself I keep forgetting to lock it (though I never used my porch...) Do ghosts exist, maybe, did I encounter one, quite possibly. Good luck with your ghost, have you researched to see if anyone had died in your house or near-by? |

I have never believed in ghost but for a visit from George i might be easily convinced :D |
Worried... Last I heard from you Jodi was that you were going to take my advice and arm yourself with garlic around your neck and your rosaries....we also agreed you'd tell this old farmer to take a hike, but you'd tell him nicely so as to not piss him off. Since then, I have not heard from you. Please let us know that other than stinking like a sicilian kitchen, you are ok. |
Don't feel bad Jodi. I've had a *something* in my house for years and I'm still around to tell the tale(s). :D It freaked me out at first when so many strange *incidents* added up and I couldn't explain them away anymore. The first time I actually saw "it" I spent the next few days staying out of my house and finally said to myself, "This is silly." What choice do you have? Move or deal with it? I don't even think about it anymore. Every once in a while something will happen, I'll get caught off guard for a minute, then just shrug and go on about my daily business. Now, you want stories? I could tell you some stories. I actually have a journal where I log the most stand out incidents. :p |
That is creepy..so glad I read this when it was daylight out! |

In 1994 my father in law passed away. He had a gliablastoma multiforme, a very aggressive tumor on his brain. We had to bring him to live with us so I could take care of him. The last few nights he "relived" his life. He was rambling on about chasing chickens, and something about a fire and his little dog - turns out these were things from his childhood. I also sat by him while he was in the war all over again. Then the last night he was calling "Lola, Lola, help me cross over" He was "seeing" Lola. I had no idea who Lola was. Turned out she was a sister who had passed away in 1973. He was one of 13 children and I didn't know most of them. So, yes, you will see your father again. And even if you don't feel him around you, I am sure he is there watching over you. I don't feel my parents or my mother and father in law, who I loved dearly, but I just know they are there watching over us. |

To this day I can't watch "An Affair To Remember" without crying. That movie was on the TV when my father in law took his last breath. But I can look through photos of both of them and smile at the memories now instead of getting weepy. When Penni, my first Yorkie passed away at 15.1/2 I couldn't look at her portrait which hangs over the fireplace without crying. Now, I look at it and even "talk to her" sometimes. Soon you will be able to remember your father without getting weepy. Just takes time. Grieving periods are different for everyone. But just remember your father wouldn't want you to mourn him too long, he would want you to be happy. And remember, he is in a far better place:) |
Thanks so much for your advice. They say time heals all wounds...I know this to be true! Also I apprechiate you taking time out to share with me your experience. It has given me a boost today and i will try to remember to think of the good. My dad was the funniest person i have ever met! Always goofing off...like..."hey ya'll watch this!" Then hurting himself by falling down or knocking stuff over by mistake! I can still hear my mom...Fred, will you please grow up!!! He drove her crazy...but cracked me up!! I just absolutly ADORED him! |

I believe there are ghosts. I don't think I've had an encounter with a ghost yet, as in seeing one. But when I was in about 7th grade me and a gf were up late. My mom usually worked afternoons and would come home. We heard the front door unlock and open then footsteps through the living room to the kitchen. My friend said whats that. I said oh its my mom. After a few mins I didnt see my mom coming in my room ( house was all 1 level and I was up past my bedtime!) I went out to check, didn't see her so I went to the door and opened it and my moms car was NOT there. On another occasion at my old apartment there was a murder 25 years ago of a mother and son on the ground level. there was only 3 floors and we were at the top. Each section of the apartment had a door and 6 apartments spread on 3 floors. One night at about 3am we heard a very very loud knock. My husband went to the door and NOONE was there. Now also strange is I had two dogs die in that apartment. We had some horrible times and luck living there for two years. Not saying its all connected but who knows? The killer was never caught. There was also a drowning at the apartment as well as the another sucicide murder of the OWNER and his wife, but it was not at the apartment building. He was said to have been a very very evil man. We live near a cemetry now and when my hubby watches the ghost shows hes always thinking he hears stuff or something. lol I am like " ill believe it when I see it " |

Sage is supposed to keep spirits away. I believe we get "visitors" in our home on occasion . . .nothing malicious or creepy . . .like right now, as I type, I smell Jean Nate' <sp> and both my grandmothers wore that . . .it doesn't bother me . . .my kids both saw "someone" come out of the closet in my old daughter's bedroom . . .an old woman in a dress with long beaded pearls ...I have never "seen" anyone . . .but felt them . . . As far as your guys you've seen . . .maybe they have something they want to get across .. .I'd be interested to see if you can have an EVP session and ask them questions . . . |
