Hurricane Earl For all of you on the east coast and in the path of this horrible storm, please take care and be safe. I'm inland about 300 miles but it looks as if the Outer Banks and our beaches will take a direct hit. Usually we get rain and winds here when they hit but the weather channel is showing sunny days for us. |

That is so scary!! ShirlBlack, that was thoughtful of you to start this thread!! I hope everyone stays safe. |
Not happy it may be coming up to New England! |
We live on the Eastern Shore and might get hit at least by the outside of the hurricane... wish us luck, THANKX!!! |
Jacksonville It's coming right for us. |
Hope you do have sunny skies, Shirl. Keep safe just in case. ~Joanne~ |

Get over to Moore Buick and say hello to my old Car salesman, Teddy Azam. He must be 70 now but still works there. |
Keeping all of you on the coast in my thoughts and prayers. We have friends that live on Oak Island, NC, and hoping they do not get a direct hit. Worried about them too. Take care.... |
I will keep you all in my prayers! My son in stationed in Quantico, VA but on temporary duty in Japan, leaving my DIL/grandkids in VA. As I pray for them, I will pray for each of you to have a safe outcome. Living on the Gulf Coast, I have been through quite a few but worry more when it's headed to my kids. Hey EARL - take a right turn NOW!!! :xfingers: |
I am in Falmouth on Cape Cod and not looking too good. It is supposed to pass just off of Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard so we shall see what happens. Either way I'm prepared and as long as there are no thunder storms (Quigley and Samantha do not do well with thunder storms) I will be ok. |

I am also praying for anyone in the direct path of this storm. We are near the coast in NH. We're hoping for the best here too. God be with all of the families that may be affected. Let's hope Earl wants to go out to sea. God Bless! |
Long Island here. Looks like it is coming close. Tomorrow I have to "batten down the hatches" in the backyard. Just trying not to scare the kids. My older son who will be turning 21 on Saturday will be going to Atlantic City with a bunch of friends so he won't be here. My 11 year old just gets frightened when we loose power so I hope we dont. Just in case my dh will get the generater ready. It probably will just be rain with a little wind that's all. :xfingers: |
Shirl, great thread!!!!! Prayers to you and your family and for your DIL and those grand babies that they will be safe. We are about 2 hrs from the Outer banks and as of now everyone here is on pins and needles. To everyone that is in the path of this storm please be safe!! Sending out prayers for you and your families!!!!!!!! |
I think it is inevitable that we get something from it. It is my Dad's birthday and his middle name is Earle My older brother is taking him out to lunch in Woods Hole and he is a Junior..middle name Earle also. Maye I should send them out of town for their lunch and we would be safe......LOL |
about the hurricane I hope evryone of our friends will be safe and everyone I dont even know exists,it is very scary, but we have bright, sunny skies here in Mass. God Bless everyone. |
Everyone stay safe!!! |
My prayers are with everyone in the path of this storm. I am praying Earl makes a quick easterly turn before it gets to close. |

Minnie is afraid of thunderstorms too and I always give her some childrens benadryl when I know a storm is coming. That helps her a lot to relax... |
I noticed that despite the hot air and sunny skies, the winds were kicking up here in Providence. I guess I will have to hunker down! The :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork will be crated tomorrow JUST IN CASE... Playpen tent it is. Poor Barney and Daisy will be stuck with Teddy and locked in with him. The thought of losing electricity and being stranded from YT really worries me!! |
it's turned a bit North. We're going to get Tropical Storm force winds etc but should be fine here. The Outer Banks looks like they're going to get slammed. :( |
Ok so I am on Cape Cod, so I am in definite jeopardy! I remember hurricane Bob 19 years ago, I had just gotten married two weeks before...no water or power for three weeks and about $10000.00 worth of damage to my home. No one injured though so that was a great thing. So cross your fingers for us that it goes east and stays away from Falmouth. Thanks for starting this thread...it will give me something to do besides worry. |

The way it looks now it's going to hit Cape Hatteras of the Outer Banks (NC) and Cape Cod the hardest. Please everyone stay safe or high tail it out of there. Hopefully it will weaken before it hits the Cape. |
Stay safe everyone. I hate to see anyone have to go through those things.:( |
