| Feeling sad. My parents have two beagle mixes that I grew up with (Daisy and Buddy) and that have grown up together as well (although are not siblings). When I was 15 I moved in with my grandparents who live 30 minutes away from my parents but still see my parents and Daisy and Buddy. Well my mom doesn't get the dogs shots like she should and doesn't give them heart worm meds and stuff mostly I think because Daisy is way overweight and shes embarrassed. Well Buddy is pretty small but has at one point a few years ago had a stroke they think because hes face is kinda crooked well now he is having like twitching moments when hes sleeping and awake and my mother isnt sleeping because she is scared hes going to pass away but wont take him to the vet. I am really sad because I grew up with him and am so upset she wont take him to the vet but I cant do anything about it! I feel like it maybe something fixable but she will never know because she wont take him to the vet. Buddy is still so full of energy tho he runs and plays with toys everything so why doesn't she just take him to the vet. Errrr I'm so frustrated.

| If you can, pick him up and take him for her. Maybe she is afraid of getting bad news. But bad news can work out with proper care. Good Luck!

| Hopefully embarrassment won't get in the way of making a good decision for those furbabies that never let YOUR FAMILY down! They were there for all of you when they were needed Just saying..... I know you are doing your best to convince your Mom and I really hope you can! Good luck!

| Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Its sad that she is more bothered about her own feelings then her pets ![]() Can you not take him? will she allow that? Also is she embaressed for him to see the vet or to take him out? Because you could always ask if the vet will do a home visit. Im sorry to hear about this and I understand how you must feel, pets are family and its not nice when one is unwell. You need to try and persuade your mom to take him to the vets, he could well be in pain

| Sorry it took me a while to come back and post. I cant just pick him up and take him to the vet because I have bad anxiety and one of the reasons I live with my grandparents is because the court appointed them guardianship over me even at 22 so I could be on there insurance to be able to get my medicines and still go to the doctor because I am unable to get a job right now.
