| Herman the Garter Snake A nest of baby robins fell out of the tree in my front yard during recent rains. They are doing well on the ground in cover and Mr. and Mrs. Robin are still feeding them. I check on them daily and they move around but Mr. and Mrs. Robin give away their hiding places by making more noise the closer I get, lol. Well, today when I let my girls out for a potty break, mr. and Mrs. Robin were raising cain in my back yard. For fear the babies had made their way under my privacy fence, I went out to investigate so my dogs wouldn't hurt them. In the process I run into Herman, the resident garter snake. I quickly put my dogs in doors and grab my camera (cuz I am weird like that). After taking a few pics, I direct Herman right back out of my yard, and told him it was not personal, but Moka and Mylee were unpredictable and I could not guarantee his safety. He is welcome here, but Mr. and Mrs. Robin are not so accomodating. I thought he was cute, so I thought I'd share his pic. (and Herman could very well be Hariett)

| What a beauty! Herman/Harriett would be a welcome addition to my garden as well. I am sure that Mr. and Mrs. Robin appreciate their neighbor moving a bit further away, though. Please try to get pics of the fledglings as they learn to fly. |

| Nice pics!!! I don't mind snakes at all and a Garter Snake, well he'd be welcome anytime! We've been having nightly visits lately from 2 skunks, one is almost all white and the other is just a baby! They are welcome and they are cute... as long as they don't stink up the joint!

That would be neat to see. I have never seen one almost all white. I really do understand one's fear of snakes. I know I would not like them either if it were not for my snake loving brother. It was either give in to his glory of constant surprise, or say "so what" and spoil his fun. LOL. I have to say, where I live, it is extremely rare to see a poisoness snake. If I lived in a region where there were dangerous ones, I too would be very freightened of them.

| Me too... there are no real poisonous snakes here either! I will try to get a pic of the white skunk but it's hard to see it at night with the camera. Here is the pic of the baby skunk though... it was really cute! Look close it's hard to see, but its right in front of my car! There is another pic BF took that all you can see (UNDER my car) is red glowing eyes! I told him to stop antagonizing it at that point because it was under my car and if it stinks up my car I'll make him drive it until the smells gone! LOL
