Digital Cameras What would you guys say is a fair price to pay for a digital camera. Also what is the best brand out there? |
I tried alot of them and I would say the KODAK Easyshare gives you a good pix for a fair price. It also is SUPER easy to use which is HGH on my LIst. Get the one that is a bit more money If you can for a bit better picture and more options, it's worth it. They have a few different models |

Well I think the basic one is in the low hundreds now, possibly even $100 on sales. The next one up is the higher hundreds now I believe. I got my higher one when it first came out for like $350. I actually returned a $900 one because I liked the Easyshare better!!!!! |

won't want more than that. Passionfrution is one of our members and she is a professional photographer and says never buy anything but canon and recommends the Canon Powershot 95 because of the value and features and is only about $80 dollars more than the one I have but mine was a gift so I am very happy with what I have. Passion has camera that in the $1000 and she said if it's a pic she can't take a chance with, she'll grab this Canon. BuyDig.com has the best prices. |
yes I agree the Canonpowershot is a very good camera . I used one for YEARS. I got the Easyshare because I didn't want to read instructions....LOL Luckily it also took good Pix |
I have a Canon Digital Elph. You can get them on eBay now for under 90 bucks. I love it. I paid $299 two years ago :( |
I too have a Kodak Easyshare camera and really like it. I have the CX7430 model. I also got the printing dock for it that you can used to charge the camera and print pictures. You would not want to print loads of prints from it, as the paper is expensive but it is great to have for those pictures you just want to print right away. |
I would definitely have to say CANON is the best! the newer ones are for like 4 or 500 but those are for 5 megapixels ...i have a 4 megapixel i got a couple yrs ago (Elph Powershot S410) and paid about 300. it does the job and the quality is great hope this helps :) |
In my opinion, if you're going to shovel out the money to get a digital camera, you only have a couple of real choices. :) (Sorry, I'm a camera snob.) As a photographer, I have been asked this many times - and my other photographer friends do agree with my recommendations. The BEST camera for your money is a Canon Powershot A95. Canon, by nature, has been around longer than other companies making these digital cameras.....you will get BETTER quality lenses, ranges, zooms, etc. for the price you pay.] REVIEW: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_.../a95_qtvr.html (But if you find another Canon you like better......you can always trust Canon, so I give them a decent thumbs up, too. Nikons can be trusted as well....especially the Nikon Coolpix cameras - they're all really good.) Another camera I really like (and I feel bad recommending a Sony, but this one has truly passed the test with high ratings across the board from camera critics) = Sony DSC-W1. REVIEW: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/w1.html For my most professional pictures, I use my Nikon SLR....but in my purse, I carry my Powershot A95 everywhere!!!! |
I am between the Kodak Z700 or the C330, Or CD33, any suggestions?? Z700 $198.84(wal-mart) C330$178.84 CD33 $129.74 AHHH there are soooo many!! |
Happy Birthday Passionfruit!!!!! :) xoxo, |

Years ago, I bought a Kodak, and yes the price is better.....but the flash sucks. Don't ever think you can take pictures indoors without them being dark EVER! |

Yes, please don't get a Kodak. waaaaay too many probs and quality is not good @ all. my friend dropped hers 3ft and it shattered. my canon is made of stainless steel :) |
okay what about a "Canon 520" The next generation A-series 4.0 MP digital camera Longer 4x optical zoom in a more lightweight and compact body Exclusive Canon DiG!C Image Processor for faster processing speed, excellent image quality and crisp vibrant colors Large 1.8 inch LCD screen for easier image preview and review An ergonomic metallic grip with intuitive controls for easy handling Equipped with 9-point AiAF and 13 Shooting Modes including Special Scene Modes for spectacular shots Print/Share Button for easy direct printing and downloads plus ID Photo Print and Movie Print with Canon CP Printers ????????// |
What about the "FUJIFILM"??? |
Canon is the way to go. I have an Elph (SD110) and the quality is great. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with any camera from the Canon line. |

Having a good image processor is VERY important and the larger LCD screen is also a plus. The shooting modes and print/share buttons and stuff are all fluff. Don't let those things sell you the camera, honestly, it's just something to put on a box. Fuji Finepix cameras are usually pretty good. My uncle is a photographer and has a Finepix SLR and loves it! |
So between the Kodak Z700 & the Canon A520, you say go with the Canon. I don't take pictures all the time but I just want a digital camera to have in those special occasions, Gizmo is going to kill me probably!! ???? That Canon runs me $197 from like $250.. Is that good?? What does it mean when they say "secure memory type Multi media? I want something that has a internal memory because I won't get to buy the memory card right away. Is that what secure memory means? |
Wow .. You guys really don't like The Easyshare???? I found it really Works for me. I have the DX7440 with the larger view screen and the movie mode for moving pix with sound. I LOVE it because it is EASY and even my 5 year old takes great pix with it. have to say I lovethe portable small size camera dock/printer you can buy also as I take it places like parties and get togethers so I can hand out immediate pix. It's really fun. I also have to say I have had NO problems with mine this past year. Plus the battery seems to hold a charge REALLY long. I have to also say I dropped mine on the driveway then when going forward to pick it up...LOL.. Stuck my foot on it and SLID like I was on a banana peel for about 3 ft. and I picked it up thinking OH NO and it was STILL working fine. I will admit it doesn't take the most wonderful pix I ever saw by a camera but I feel for the money it takes a good very usuable pix which is all I am looking for. I'm not looking for posters or competition stuff. OHHHHH I also never had dark problems either. or flash problems. Oh well..i guess I just like the EASY thing. Thanks for listening :D |

I guess I didn't realize it at first, but once I got better with my photography skills I began to notice the little things that became really important, big things when I took more and more pictures. |
Happy Birthday PASSION FRUIT !! And thanks for the advice. I just hope the canon has a internal memory, I was really looking for a camera that did have that! :) |
Ok I'm stupid... what does internal memory mean?????? :p |
internal memory holds a certain amount of pics w/ out a memory card. I just wanted a camera w that b//cuz at 1st I am not going to buy a memory card, so I want to be able to still take pics before hand. p.s and no, you are not "dumb"!! |
Oh Ok I guess mine has something like that. It doesn't need a memory card and will hold a bunch of pictures. I can however buy a memory card to ADD to the camera to hold MORE pix. If that makes sense hopefully  |
yorkie angel, what model is your kodak?/ |
Ok HOW DORKY AM I... It says right on the SCREEN "INTERNAL MEMORY IS FULL" when the built in one is out of space...DUHHHHHHHHHHH :animal36 |
