We pretty much stopped the solicitors when DH put up a stop sign and no tresspass sign at our driveway entrance. We live at the end of a dead end street and you would not believe how many people would use our front yard as a turnaround or pull up to our barn (big metal bldg.) thinking it was a business! We used to get jerks who actually cut donuts in our yard!l know the sign looks like we are mean hermits, but sprinkler heads and sod gets expensive (lol).:rolleyes: |
I believe that if there is a sign, they can be reported to the police. Your community organization should be notified. |
The best way we got rid of solicitor (we don't has them anywhere near as much anymore now we live in the country) was to invite them in and ramble incessantly about useless things. 'I so glad someone to talk to..My boyfriend dump me...My eyelash won't stop falling out..My pet rock died...' Watching mum go was corker! |

Doing something strange usually works for me. We have had less come to our door since I have answered the door with rat on my shoulder and another time dressed as a pirate. :D The pirate costume was an accident because at the time I worked at a school and had dressed like that for the kids that day and had yet to change. The look on their faces is great! :p When I was little my dad would tell everyone of them he just got laid off to get them to leave. |
