Need Essay Help!
 
I'm doing my first college scholarship essay that I just entered. Its due June 30th so I'd love any help whether it be proof reading or ideas or whatever.

Good luck! My oldest daughter will be a Jr. in High School next year and I know the scholarship essay stuff is looming in her future. I'm not looking forward to it AT ALL but then again, I'm not a good writer. She is much better at it so I hope she'll do well. My problem is... WHAT do you write about???

Well a lot of the scholarships given for essays usually have a topic that your write a short essay about. I am no good at writing either, but I need some scholarships under my belt to have any hope of getting into the college of my dreams!

Good luck! My daughter is going to be a freshman in college this year and we just finished up with all that stuff. I am so glad it is OVER!! One deadline after another and it gets a bit overwhelming, but the effort pays off in the long run.

How exciting! I served as a scholarship committee volunteer for 2 years and would love to help you. Do you have a topic? A few favorites that stand out personal volunteer essays that resulted in a growth experience and /or experiences related to your community.

You write very well for a 14 yr old middle school junior, so I'm sure you'll do well with ANY essay they throw at you. The key is writing about something, or when you have a specific subject, finding a way to make it personal...more believable. Your essay is going to be very impersonal and will not make an impression if you can't find a way to relate to it. :)

Never said I was in middle school. Look up every post. I am a junior in HS (almost). I may have said I was a sophomore in HS on a couple post but that was because I didn't end school until June 4 so I was still a sophomore.

And I am 14 (soon to be 15, Sept 3) I skipped a grade and my birthday is late, so yep. Not something to lie about really. . .

Anyways thank-you for the advice and the complement (if that was one and not sarcasm)!

Yes, it was a compliment, and yes, honest advice.

I stand corrected--the post did say you were a Junior in HS, not in Junior HS. Sorry, you change your mind so frequently that between that and all the stuff on all your other YT accounts, I get confused trying to keep up.

Wow. I have one YT account (other than this one), because I lost my password (and I told admin about that and I'd hope he deleted the account). And what have a changed my mind on hummm? Can't believe that there is actually going to be a 15 year old Junior? Well you don't have too.

Sorry you feel that I am some kind of liar or something, but I'm not and have no reason to lie to someone I barely know. I find it hard to believe that you know me so well when I have been inactive for so long.

What exactly have a changed my mind on? I'm so curious to know.

You have had 4 different accounts on YT...just that I've seen. And each time you rejoin, your story and goals change, or you introduce yourself as a new member just joining the site. Do you really want to stick with your story above, or do you want me to lay it all out there?

Seeing as my PM will probably be ignored I guess I will lay it all out.

Yes I probably have lied in the past while on YT (I probably do have other accounts other than the two I know of, although this is the one I use most often and continue to use).

This is the account I will continue to use (as set every thing right in the past that I have done on YT).

The main lie I have probably told is my name. Only my friends truly know my really name (although I have told on my other accounts which is why I choose not to use them anymore because my mother found out and only wants me to use my middle name) which is what I do now.

Because I have been driven off task on this forum I contacted admin for this to be deleted.

Thanks for those that are helping me!

So yes, you have changed your mind about your goals many many many times. But at least you admit to some of it. Why it "matters" is because you have really caused some controvery for having your commitment and long term goals questioned. Yet, given that you seem unsure yourself, the concerns seem justified.

And to answer your other question, no, I'm not "admin." I'm just extremely observant and have a good memory.
