The bad news......No Hog hunt in TX this week. With Carlo having to go in for another Chemo Shot, and still being on the prednisone which causes him to drink gallons of water and urinate like an elephant, it is not fair to him or to Marge that I take off for 5 days. Besides, it is quite warm there now....so, I will head on down there in Oct after he is off all Chemo drugs, and Marge can handle it.

What we do for our pets!

Too bad it won't be in September, I'll be in Texas again, then.

In Sept we go to Maine and take the dogs to Bar Harbor and it is still a bit warm in TX. Marge then has several business trips, so Sept is not a good month for me. When we had the home in AZ, I was out there from Mid-Oct to Mid-May until the boss said enough. heck, I bought her the best 10 HP snowblower that money could buy. Electric start, big light....and made sure the 5 gallon can was full. At my age, when I am running after a hog, or tracking a bobcat, I prefer a bit of cool weather. I am an old guy, remember?

Darn. September is The Buebonnet Yorkshire Terrier Club of Greater Dallas & Ft. Worth Specialty.

I too hate the heat. But, then I'm indoors in air-conditioned Ballrooms showing dogs.

Sorry you have to wait on your Hog hunt.... but it did make for an interesting thread here. Wishing all the best to Carlo & your gang.

Yes, it did!! Very interesting and informative.

I am sorry, too, Steve. I know you looked forward to it; but yes, it is hot as HELL here right now. Only fit for :devils2:, not an :angel2dl: like you.

We vacationed in Main 2years ago and spent some time in Bar Harbor. I got to go out on a Lobster boat and enjoy the catch when we returned. I loved it up there. For some reason though everyone knew I wasn't a local.:confused::p I was always asked "You from Tennessee or Texas?" I guess I just sounded smart.:D

I learned patience a long time ago with the "Hurry up and Wait" mentality of the Corps. I could probably sneek away for 2 days, but why bother in the heat. Even the Hogs do not feel like showing themselves in the Heat of the day.

Bar Harbor is the best. We sometimes stay there, or Seal harbor. We always climb Cadillac Mountain, and Acadia Mountain. Doubt if I can still run up them, but I will not quite. I just look up and see Marge in front of me and it gives me the extra motivation. Perhaps carlo can pull me up, and I will let Marge Carry Max. We do the Whale Watching, the Lobster boat deal, a tall ship, eat, relax, hike, eat, ....lot's of eating. Very scenic. Early Sept when the kids are back in school. THe weather is still great then

Awe, how sweet.

We went in early June. Acadia is such a beautiful place. We stayed near Machias and visted Eastport and several others coatal cities while there. Beautiful country.

This is the day I was supposed to leave for TX. Disappointed, but there will be another time. Maxines birthday, and Carlo goes in for a Chemo shot on Thursday, so again, the dogs come first!

Carlo and Max are lucky to have such devoted parents! Yep...Texas will always be here! .. and so will the huge hogs.
