Found a lost dog 1 Attachment(s) My daughter was driving today and found a little white dog walking down the middle of the street, so she stopped and picked her up. She is a sweetie...a chubby little gal and I think she is an older dog. We thought she was a poodle or poodle mix, but a lady said she thinks she is bichon or at least has some in her. We put an ad on Craig's List, on the city ads site, and on facebook. I called the police and they have no report of a lost dog, but have my info to give anyone that should call. We drove around the area where she found the dog...asked everyone we saw...no one recognized this little lady. So, she is here for now and if I haven't found her owners by Tuesday, I'll check to see it the humane society will scan her for a microchip. She seems perfectly at home here...not the least bit shy or scared. I hope and pray I find her owner. Here's a picture of her... |
How kind of you to keep the dog while you look for the owner. She looks really sweet and is so lucky she is with you right now. I'm hoping you find the owner too :( |
Sounds like you are really working to find her owners. Maybe you could call animal control to see if she is chipped. She is very cute an looks like she was recently groomed too. |
aw she's a cutie. looks kinda like she has maltese, poodle and/or bichon in her. the straight hair on the top of her head and something about her face says maltese to be and the rest says poodle or bichon. then again it could be just a poorly bred bichon or poodle. |
That's great you took her in until her owner can be found. Looks like she is making herself right at home. I will say a prayer her owners come for her soon. |
She is such a little sweetheart. She loves to cuddle and be close and she follows me where ever I go in the house. I feel so bad thinking of her owner and how scared he/she must be. I hope it's not one of those deals where she was abandoned. I was scratching her earlier and noticed some mats around her neck, which makes me think she probably did wear a collar. She was rather dirty when found, so she has had a bath and smells sweet. She does have some mats that I plan to work on, but didn't want to stress her out tonight. She seemed so happy here...like she's been here forever, but now that night has fallen, she looks sad. I hope and pray I'll find her owner tomorrow. MegansMomma...Our animal control here sucks, but I'll check tomorrow and see if they have a scanner. If not, I'll run her up to the clinic I take my girls to and see if anyone recognizes her and also have her scanned. |
She is such a cutie and so glad you are giving her a home, while you look for the owner. Just wanted to also say.... That is exactly how we came about keeping our little Vivi... After found posters, newspaper adds, Craig's List, Vet check for chip, etc. :) Good luck with your search and bless you for keeping her safe. |

That is how I found Fizz...He had no chip. Looked for an owner for sometime...but no luck. We bonded very quickly. Poor little guy was sicker than we knew. Lost hime this week. But he will always be in my heart. I hope the cute dog you found finds her qwner. I hate to think of missing my dog when I didn't know what happened. |
Don't forget to check with all the local vet clinics in the area..... someone could recognize her. TY for doing what you are for this little dog. |

Still no calls from anyone. I put her in my pop out kennel to sleep last night and when I got up this morning, she was running around the house. She had unzipped the door. LOL I am keeping a diaper on her, as she did pee a couple times on my rug, but maybe was just marking. I am now concerned about Faith...she seems very bummed out about this dog being here and she will not eat her food. Last night while out looking for her owner, a lady who it turns out, graduated with me, said if she needed a safe place till we found the owner, that she would be willing to take her. I may have to take her up on her offer if Faith won't start to eat. She's little and shouldn't go without food. I hope and pray to find this little dog's owner today. |

Yippeee! Her owner called! She was going to put an ad on the minot ads, where we put an ad last night and then saw our ad. Her name is Buffy and we had been calling her Fluffy, so at least it rhymed with her real name. She lives up near my daughter and since I have to run to the store, I'm just going to take Buffy home while out. I am SO thrilled! I was at the point where I didn't know that I could keep her much longer, as Faith is so totally bummed out with Buffy here...and I cannot get her to eat no matter what I do. So, this is just so wonderful and I'm happy as a lark! I'll let you know about the reunion. |

1 Attachment(s) Buffy is back with her owner! They were so thrilled! Just before leaving, I wondered if one of the extra dresses I had here might fit...I knew I had one that was a bigger size. Sure enough...it fit her perfectly and when I put it on her, she just turned circles and pranced around and looked so cute! She is a poodle cross and about 7 years old. I was upset to find out that they had called the police several times and were told the only lost dog found was a beagle and that was over in NW so it wouldn't likely be theirs. Good grief...I had told them a small white dog that looked like a poodle cross. They had all my contact numbers and could have at least given this lady my numbers. They also spent much of last night driving around looking for Buffy...more than likely we probably met them on the streets as we were searching. I'm so glad Buffy is back where she belongs. I came right home after the reunion and it took quite a bit of coaxing, but finally got Faith to eat. Maybe she thought the Buffy was her birthday present. LOL Here's a picture of Buffy just before I took her home... |
