Thank you Tammy. Like I said before, I'm sorry to have offended anyone. I reiterate that my dogs are loved and cared for. Mommy and babies are warm and inside. I live in South Africa and we don't have snow or excessively cold weather throughout the year. Many people living in SA have dogs that live outside.

I so agree!! There is no reason to be so RUDE and HATEFUL! If you are so disgusted and angry, go on to the next post.
You can be an advocate for "Spay and Neuter" and also be nice.
Just because you believe that dogs should not live outside, doesn't mean you are right, you just have a different opinion (and you know what they say about opinions:rolleyes:)
I also agree that all pets need to be spay/neutered, and I would urge everyone to do that -it is healthier for the pet, there are no unwanted pups, you don't have to worry about the mess, or dogs wanting to roam.
But stating my opinion is different from blasting or attacking the OP.
I sometimes cringe when I see some of the posts I don't agree with - not so much because I don't agree with the poster, but because I know they are about to get some very rude and hateful things said to them.
So I guess in posting this, I will also be guilty of hijacking the OP's post.

I appreciate your opinion. Thank you. Once again like I said in a previous post, my girl will be spayed once her pups are big and I have placed them. I honestly never thought something like this would happen.

Tinx, I am sorry that we have made you feel bad. I am glad you will be getting your girls spayed:) We all have to live and learn -sometimes through accidents or unpleasant incidents.
I noticed you have not posted very many times, and unfortunately, like a lot of new posters, (and if you decide to stay on this board) you will learn what NOT to say or ask to protect yourself from this in the future.

Biiiiiiigggg lesson learned. I for one am not someone who judges or wants to offend anyone so I am very upset by this. Anyone who is on a forum like Yorkietalk is obviously a total animal fanatic as I am. I would never harm an animal. I will post pics of the puppies and keep those who are interested updated. As I am new, I never knew fellow yorkietalkers could be so mean. They don't even know me or my girls and diji. But thank you to those who were kind and offered advice! I truly appreciate it.

Exactly why I spay and neuter at 6 months of age. It only takes a second. Thankfully your pup did ok. Glad you are planning to have them spayed.

They are so loved and cared for that you had no idea she was pg though? Hmm, Don't you ever pet her or rub her belly?

I can understand an accident, it happens.. But stuck in the back yard all her life just burns me up.

I don't understand why people who claim to love their dogs toss them out in the yard or kennel.

This is a little off topic (a lot off topic), but I wish people put as much concern into their children as they do their pets. Last week I saw five...5 very pregnant students waiting for a school bus, wearing very tight, revealing clothes. They could not have been more than sixteen years old!!!!!!
Too bad we can't spay or neuter some of these teenagers, as least temporarily.

that is so true!! all the did was popularize it more!

i think when things like this happen you just have to take it in stride and learn from it dont feel like you hate your dogs now you know you love them.
you said that you live in south africa well that seems like someone liveing in a warm weather state haveing an outside dog and im sure other yorkie talk members have outside dogs and as long as they are loved and cared for why cant they live outside. some dogs are happier outside

I am sorry for coming down so hard on you. It just really upset me...I just recently watched my neighbors dog die a slow painful death and he was left tied to a tree his whole life.

And yes I called AC, they wouldn't do anything as he was not breaking any laws.

I do hope you at least spay and neuter your dogs and I hope the puppies are ok.

Don't worry about offending...the one thing I have learned here is, unless you post with all information including SS# and entire life story someone will mis-construe the story...I still learn alot here every day and every one here has some really good advise. They have helped me immensely. You have learned from the experience and that is good. I for one hope the pups and mom are doing well. Would love to see pics...and I am glad you are getting them spayed. I am getting my 7 year old stray yorkie nuetered next week. Like the others said where there is a will...or a female in heat...there is a way,...or a guy thinking with the wrong brain...lol

I also had a Cocker before I got the two I have now. I never made him stay outside by himself. It would have broken his heart if I'd kept him locked out. I don't believe in keeping dogs outside either, unless you live on a Ranch and you have 4 to 5 working dogs. My cousin has 5 Boarder Collies that stay ouside all the time and sleep in part of the bunk house. They're working dogs that protect the cows and calfs from coyotes. Then she has her beautiful Yorkie who is always by her side indoors and out. Cockers are not the type to live outdoors.:( Maybe you could get her spayed since this is her 6th litter.

I know this is hard to believe for all us with our "petted" little yorkies, but lots of people don't believe a dog should live in the house. That doesn't make them wrong, they have different opinions, beliefs or coultures.
Just because we don't believe that doesn't make us "right" either.
What if I though it was cruel to make a dog pull a sled in the snow, or be in danger from coyotes while protecting cows? Does my opinion make me right and the owners of those dogs wrong?
We live on a farm with cattle. We have had a cattle dog that did not ever come in the house. I tried to get her to come in when I thought it was too cold, but she would not.
We have had a 20lb cocker spaniel, who was also an outside dog. He loved the outside. I put him up safely in the garage at night, and during the colder weather, he slept in our utility room. He was the happiest dog I have ever seen. He went to the shop every day with my DH, and was so proud of himself when he could catch a rat or rabbit or bird. He was so fun to watch running through the pasture, jumping like a rabbit, or chasing prey.
Then there is Bonnie, whom I would not let out of my site for one moment outside, although I think she would love to run and chase birds and rabbits. Let's not forget yorkies are little ratters:)

I grew up on a farm, and, yes, your dogs have a wonderful life and so do many farm dogs who trail after their owner all day long. They receive attention and care. But it is different when you live in town, come home from work, are too tired to take the time to go to the back yard and give an outdoor dog the attention that he/she needs. You may go out there but it will be for only a minute amount of time. If your doggie is indoors than it can follow you around all over the house and be part of your life. It's such a pity when town doggies are kept in the back yard day in and day out. Live in a small town and I can attest to the neglect that totally outdoor doggies suffer. And our local cops don't care.:(:(:( ~Joanne~

Yes, one of the main reasons I wanted a yorkie - to be inside and sit on my lap all day, cause now that I am older, I don\'t like to go outside much.
