Warning for Fellow Southern YT's As most of you already know, there is going to be some VERY severe weather moving through the area in the early morning and through most of tomorrow. Weather services are issuing warnings regarding very strong storms with a high probability of tornado outbreaks across MS and AL and the surrounding areas. If you live in these parts, you have likely had "what do do" drilled into your head already, so no need for reminders there. Just please please PLEASE everyone in the area be careful and safe while it all passes through. And if you have the opportunity to check in and let everyone know that you're OK, please do! |
Yes Misty, thanks for posting this. We are suppose to get this storm tonight. Guess it will be moving your way. Be careful. I usually hide in my closet with all the dogs and the bird. Wish I had a tornado shelter. BE CAREFUL EVERYONE. |
And here I was complaining of the "cold" weather here. Stay safe everyone!!! |
Oh my god! everyone stay safe! that stuff scares me... I cannot imagine! I live in south-western Canada and have never experienced this. The most I've ever seen is a bad snow storm. I saw a funnel cloud once, but nothing ever came of it. Thinking of you guys!! |
Misty and Lissette stay safe. I'm all the way up in IL and can feel the change in the air here too. I hate tornado season. :thumbdown |
You all stay safe...this could be a bad one! Same system produced some wild tornadoes in the Texas panhandle. Thankfully this one passed us by. |

We have the storm area all set up in the basement and the cell phones charging. I am suppose to work with a local small dog rescue on a fundraiser tomorrow morning, I hope the storms hold off until noon. Everyone stay safe. |

Good for you for helping with the rescue! Stay safe. |
Thanks, Misty!! We saw this on the news early this AM and have been keeping our eye on it. We are as ready as we can be ... just hate it!! It is already thundering, lightening and we have some light rain. Guess we won't get much sleep tonight! :( This is one thing we didn't miss at all in Colorado! Everyone take care and stay safe! |
Be safe y'all! |
Stay safe! We are supposed to have rain & thunderstorms the next few days, hopefully that will be the extent of it here! |
I'm in texas - they went nuts on the news last night talking about t-storms and tornados - and viola - nothing this morning and I was kind of ready to have a dreary day to catch up on stuff - my direct tv always goes out so I get lots done.....but don't want to see devestating storms so GOOD LUCK to you all in the line of fire ! |
I'm in TN it is very dark and windy already this morning. By this time of day it is very sunny and bright. Please pray for all of us in the south. I will be praying for everyone as well. Our area here in Tn is considered tornado alley. We had 12 people die a couple years ago from tornados in one day within 10 mile radius of where I live. |
wow, how scary. Please stay safe everyone and let us know as it passes each of you. |
Stay safe everyone........ |

Glad it turned out it blew by with no problems....Hope all the other Southern states are as lucky. |
I hope that everyone is safe and doing alright this morning and through the rest of the weekend as this storm passes. It was pretty bad in NorthWest FL last night into this morning and is finally slowing down. Lighting hit a tree out side my house last night and the thunder was shaking the house. My kids ended up in the same bed, DH, Kobe and I ended up in a tight ball in the bed. I'm terrified of thunder, Kobe was scared but i think more concerned for me. He jumped on the bed, started licking my face to make sure i was ok then curled up on my pillow by my head. PLease everyone stay safe and go out only if you absolutely must!!! |
So far, so good here but I don't think it will all be over until tonight. Did you all see this thread?? Poor Cindy [livingdustmops] ... looks like Denver's going to get it all! She got some great pics. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...ml#post3099335 |

According to reports, there is a MASSIVE on ground tornado on the ground in MS near the state line right now. :( They estimate it to be an F4 right now. Hoping everyone there is safe. About to eat some lunch, load up the kid and furbutts and evacuate to my parents house. (They have a basement, I don't.) |
Wow! I'm watching the weather channel right now. Everybody stay safe, this is scary! I hate Michigan weather, but I don't mind that we hardly ever get tornados. |
Stay safe Bama...:( |
I am in North Central Mississippi. Sixty miles from Tupelo. This has been a VERY scarey day for all of us in La., Ms., and Al. Our local station is just announcing there has been a tornado in Yazoo City, Ms. with multi injuries. There is also a tornado on the ground at MacAdams, Ms. as I am posting this. Please be safe all of you in the South. |

One Mother and 4 children. Tho as I understand it the children did not all belong to the same lady. So sad.. We are clear in Mississippi but now have concern for our Alabama neighbors. |
