7 Nice Things! Okay, I was talking a while ago about the idea that if you get a criticism, the average person needs to get seven pieces of praise to overcome the negative feeling created by the criticism. SO, here's my idea: you can either say ONE nice thing about the poster above you, or you can say SEVEN. If you say SEVEN, you can make one complaint. For instance for me, someone could write: - Best Banner in the Banning thread. - Wonderfully patient with training her dumb-as-rocks doggie. - Dumb doggie is super cute. - Great at taking pictures of doggie. - Always diplomatic. - Hilarious. - Supportive of other posters. And then as a complaint, of course, it would be: - YT is no fun without me. What do you say? This could be a bad idea, but I think it could be a lot of fun if done in the right spirit. The only thing is, someone has to say one (or seven) nice things about me to kick it off. And then we're up and running. :D |

Love it! Love it!! LOVE IT! I have zero complaints about the OP (you :-) but tons of compliments so here goes: from what I've seen so far on YT: 1. You are incredibly kind to everyone! 2. You defend others when it becomes necessary 3. Your posts are insightful, knowledgeable and funny too! 4. You have one of the cutest babies on YT! 5. You are a good friend to a lot of people on YT and I imagine in life as well! 6. You are always positive and if you have a negative to say you do it in a way that is respectful to the OP 7. You make newbies like me want to be friends with you and follow your example and would listen to any constructive criticism you gave because you are so positive! Okay, this is my take on Maryeverett1: Compliments: 1. Very wellspoken. 2. Loves her dogs. 3. Very determined. 4. Stands up for the underdog. 5. Very resilient. 6. Can be very positive. 7. Has some good ideas, well thought out. Criticism: 1. At this time, I will refrain from comment, as I think she has heard enough negatives from her earlier posts on this forum. :D |

Well, we can do it that way too, I guess! Why don't you say something nice about someone else, and then have them come in and post something nice about someone else, and then THEY can come in and post something nice.... :) |
This is a great way to get to know people a little better. If you want to participate, but you don't know anything about the last poster, you can always click on their username and go to one of the options and see previous posts, threads started by that member, and take a look at their Public Profile. Takes a little bit of time, but one can learn enough about someone to give more to post about in this thread. Of course, if you're slow like me, after you post here about someone, you then leave yourself open to be posted about.:eek: Which kind of freaked me out a bit. But, hey, it is easier to deal with one critism after hearing seven compliments. And, just because I got off easy the first time, if anyone wants to do me again, have at it. And if you have issues with me, I'll even take 7 critisms for 1 compliment! (Just one time, in this thread only!) :D And Ladyjane, no you can't! |
