Because it is the internet you (LuvMyPuppe) are allowed to say whatever the he!! you want to say? That is ridiculous! I'm all about being honest but RUDE and then hiding behind a cowardly statement of "this is the internet"? So if loveshay was standing in front of me it would be considered unacceptable to say whatever was in my head but is I am posting to her I can say blantantly statements?

I guess the next time that LuvMyPuppe asks a questions I can say whatever I please to him/her and then hide behind the above statement but wait it won't matter because as they just stated the are INSENSITIVE :rolleyes:

Then in that case I apologize. I was under the impression that it was a life threatening situation based on the OP's message. If it was not, then no problem.

Yes, we did lose a child, and I guarantee you, if any parent gets a call that your child was hurt, the last thing they will do it get on the PC. That's really all I will say. Everyone has opinions. You are certainly entitled to yours.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my little 5 year old brother in 2006, therefore my mom and stepdad lost their child. He died in a drowning at a public pool. It's been a terrible journey these past 3, almost 4 years, and I never wish it upon anyone. So I truly am sorry for your loss. Sorry to go totally off topic and I do agree with your last statement. I understand everyone deals with it differently, but when I first heard the news of my brother, I collapsed to my knees and felt like I couldn't breathe. Computers, phones, etc were the last thing on my mind. With that said, you're absolutely right it wasn't the place to debate pit bulls but I think it's inevitable, as it's happned in every dog attack thread on YT pretty much. I am guilty of giving a thumbs up to the poster who started the pit bull defense but it wasn't the place.

I have not lost a child but my son's best friend was in a horrific car accident and suffered a TBI at the age of 21. He is like my son~I know it is not the same as your own child but it was like a punch to the gut when I received that call. I still get a lump in my throat when I think about that day and know exactly where I was and what I was doing when I got that phone call. That is the closest that I EVER want to come to losing a child. :( Please accept my condolences for your son's passing.

how is it being rude to mention the fact that i don't trust (not only pits) but ANY dog that's not on a leash around children. any talk about pit bulls was regarding the fact they are known to be unpredictable. in my case, i mentioned i don't want ANY dog (regardless of size) running around uncontained.

it would be unacceptable to be talking about what wonderful dogs pit bulls were if you were attending a funeral where someone's child was killed by a pit bull - yes.

that isn't the case! it would have even been unacceptable online if someone had been defending pits or dogs without leashes - that didn't happen.

and, yes, i do think it's funny that people get so upset about people going "off topic" in a thread - not even a thread about a sensitive subject, but any thread.

furthermore, yes, you can say whatever you wish when addressing me (and you have). the difference is, i don't let people's opinions get to me because i stand by my own beliefs regardless of what someone says.

You are so unreasonable. For you to sit here and type that you can't understand giving an opinion in a prayer thread ,is ridiculous and therefore it's like slamming your head into a brick wall talking to you.

I'm aware you can't change people's actions, only your reactions. Still, that doesn't make what you did - NOT Rude and Insensitive!

You can stand by your beliefs and express them at the appropriate time/place, without being rude (or at least most people can).......it was RUDE of you to express your opinion of pits bulls on a person's prayer thread.

No one did that people (biana jencar), everyone offered support and prayers for her son, so get over yourselves. Geesh!

RUDE, is not saying that the Pit Bull that just put a child in the hospital is dangerous & non trusting!! DUH

Lack of Compassion? This still ticks me off! How many of you spend ALL of your holidays helping the homeless and NEVER ONCE in your entire life spent a holiday NOT working!!!! As a Child I NEVER had Christmas by a tree. Instead, I was out in the cold learning about helping people. Today I got up at 4 am to minister and feed over 400 homeless in Dallas. We havent had a vacation in over 4 years because we have taken in 4 different people and given them a home. (VERY EXPENSIVE) So, for someone to READ something and make an assumption that I lack compassion is sickening. I dont need a pat on the back, but I certainly dont appreciate people making judgements when they know nothing about me. People are hypocrites and they judge on assumption. I cant stand people like that.

I think she was looking for prayers. When we received the call my pregnant SIL had been shot, immediatly after calling 911, I called my best friend from church to start the prayer chain my church has organized.
At that moment, I just kept thinking God has to help us and she needs prayers.

I never suggested you lacked compassion, nor made any judgments about you. My point was a debate about pit bulls was not really proper on a prayer thread. And, with each comment made, it was evident a debate was about to take place.
