My mom must take the same BP med because it makes her cough too. She says it's just a constant tickle in her throat, drives her nuts. |
I'll keep your Mom in my prayers. |
I will keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers. Please don't get upset with this post but I think you really need to talk to your mom and find out what type of tumor this was. As an older member of this group (and a nurse)I can't tell you how important it is to have this information. Every one is looking at family history-who married who, where they were born, when they died-but it is also very important to have an accurate family medical history. My brother and I have just spent a lot of time gathering this info for our family and believe me it was very difficult but amazing to find all the history of breast ca in our family. We started gathering this history when my younger sister was diagnosed 12 yrs ago at age 42. p.s she is doing great and keeps up with her screenings. Good luck to your mom. |
There are many BP that cause a side effect of coughing...one that i can think of off the top of my head is LISINOPRIL...is she on that by any chance? I would find out...cause theres other drugs she can switch to...like Benecar. Is your mom with a cardiologist or is her primary doctor prescribing this? As much as i respect doctors...i just think that when you're a specialist..you know more about the drugs in your specialty. If she is on Lisinopril....have her doctor try switching her to Benecar...just make sure its the right dosage..cause too much of Benecar can cause dizziness. |
