Stifling laughter! Did someone just seriously say " most of us like it the way it is! Stick around and learn or get off and start your own forum?" Obviously there are quite a few people who disagree with you on liking the way it is...which is fine! There is room for everyone's opinion! If you don't like what we are talking about then feel free to not comment again! I've been extremely non confrontational and friendly today! And I'm not going anywhere! Can anyone seriously have a problem with this discussion we've all had today? It's been about making things better for new people, making it a more positive place to be since we all seem to have the same goals which in turn enhances the site which in turn enhances the breed!:aimeeyork It's positive!!! What is your problem with that specifically? Having a twilight zone moment again! LOL. Going to walk the dogs! It's a beautiful day, I have 2 beautiful healthy children:), 3 beautiful, healthy dogs:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa, an amazing husband I get to do life with, and have just made a bunch of new friends today! Life is good! Gonna focus on the positive! |

I feel bad that what some people are sayihg things that hurt others. Fortunately, in this country, we are allowed free speech. We are not always going to agree with what is being said or written, but at least we are all still able to voice our opinions. I have learned a wealth of information on YT and try to ignore comments that upset me. |
Since this thread seems to be going on and on I want to add one more thing. I understand how Mary felt attacked or maybe belittled in her first thread and I do think some things were said that were a touch harsh, but with that said I joined this forum because when I looked it over I liked most of what I saw and came here in hopes of making some friends, exchanging information and learning from people with more/different information. I didn't come here to try to "change" something that was set up by someone else and apparently has been working. Whoever originally started this forum and runs the forum has the authority to "change" it but not me nor should I as a newbie be able to come in and demand it. If I don't like this forum enough I can make up my own forum and get others to join it. That way things can be done to my standard, but I think this thread is beating a dead horse. We don't have to come here and we don't need to read what others write. Just ignore the people you don't like and enjoy the ones you do. Life is only as happy as you make it and I am for sure SICK of the "change" that has happened over the last year and don't need to continue it here. |
I know what Mary is talking about. I dared ask the question "do you let your Yorkies off leash". Yikes, the responses I received were extremely rude - of course not all - and yes, I did receive a couple of apologies. We new people to Yorkshire Terriers write questions to get helpful responses from knowledgeable people - not to be treated like we're idiots. I really enjoy reading the many posts from all sorts of people - but I am careful about which questions I will post. And for those people who get offended by the word teacup - be softer with your answer - I shouldn't have to cringe when reading some poor persons new posts, knowing they'll get slammed. And to those people that feel free to post against newer people on YT, most of us are not new to animals and some of us, like me, have had several, very well adjusted pets that have lived long, happy lives. I am very glad to be a member of YT and look forward to receiving more great advice about our little pups!:) |
I read this thread and the other one just to try to figure out what the deal was before I posted. My initial thought was "this is a joke." After reading both threads in their entirety, I realized that it's not a joke...it's just ridiculous. To the OP. You came on, and despite the fact that you did get some rather blunt responses right from the start, seems to me like you have done just as much to fuel the fire you are now so desperately trying to extinguish. You have insulted members here, called people rude and snobs and more and are now trying to 'rally' people to "change" the forum to your liking? Is it honestly any surprise that you are not feeling very "welcomed" at this point? Some of the comments and generalizations you have made are by far some of the most judgmental I've ever seen here...and that's really saying a lot! I guess I just didn't realize that YT was in need of a crusade to rid it of all it's evils.:p There are so many members here that share so much and that are active on this forum every single day and who have been here for years. So it seems to me like maybe YT isn't as bad as you are trying to make it out to be...at least not to the majority of the members here who seem pretty darn happy. I understand why you were a bit caught off guard with some of the initial comments made to you, but good grief...condemning the site and it's members so quickly before you ever really gave it a fair chance to see what is was REALLY all about? If you don't want to take the time to get to know the members here and see what a positive forum this is 99% of the time, then that is of course your choice, but it is really unfortunate and ultimately your loss. |

My problem with it is that you haven't even been here a week and you have decided that the forum doesn't work the way you want, so you want to change it. A lot of us, most of us, love YT just as it is. The friendships, the concern, the passion for yorkies ties us all together. Don't be so judgmental of those who have been here for YEARS when you have only been here for DAYS. And don't talk about experienced, knowlgeable members judging you when this whole thread is in judgement of them!!!!!!! And if you want to claim you're not being judgmental, go back and re-read your posts, and your talk of big egos and rudeness, when you dish the rudeness out in super size servings. These members have earned their place on this board while you've done nothing except try to stir everyone up and cause trouble. Oh, and please, "feel free" to NOT tell me what I can and cannot comment on. |

:thumbup::thumbup: Well said..... This whole thread was for attention. To try and get members to feel sorry for her. When I first came to YT things were said to me very bluntly. I am so grateful for that today. |

Not to mention if anything was said so awful to her they would be suspended or banned. |
YorkieTalk is a Privately Owned Forum and we are Guests What amuses me the most about this thread and the attitude of the OP is the fact that she has neglected to educate herself about YorkieTalk, it's posting rules, and the general flow of things. I don't see how that can be accomplished in a day, a week, a month or even years. YorkieTalk is a privately owned forum and we, the posting membership are guests. With that said, I do consider it my online Yorkie home and I have a tremendous amount of respect and appreciation for it's Owners, Administrators, Moderators and for the vast majority of it's members. In return for the priviledge of being a member here, I have donated both my time and money to help make YorkieTalk a better place and I try to be a good YT citizen. :D :D :D I have had my toes toasted more than once in the time that I have been here and expect that I will get them roasted before it's overwith, but I acknowledge that the majority of time that the I do get toasted it's my own fault -- due to an error in posting and/or my reactions to other posts. |
