If you want to read some RUDE comments, take a look at my post last week, a nice post with pictures of my trio. I got a rude comment from ONE member who said to me that I STARVE MY DOG SO IT STAYS SMALL! lol now that is something to cry about. |
BTW, I totally agree with MegansMomma. My last post to this "beating a dead horse" topic! Guess i will take the dogs for a walk, and hope the big dog can keep up with the Yorkie. |

I also want to say that I don't think the "older" members are rude. Try warning people over and over again of the same things and having them think they know better (then why did they ask?). If you (not you, the OP, I mean "you" in general) ask a question/help, but people don't hold your hand while giving it to you, why is that rude? Sometimes time is of the essence, and there's no room for sugarcoating. |

I dont know about "getting blacklisted" but coming to a new place and telling everyone how they need to change certainly isnt the way to make friends or get people to welcome you... it succeeds in getting you attention though. |

OK, now that I have taken the time to read the thread you're referring to, I understand. I must say first, that I'm so glad to have you here at YT, there are so many helpful people on this site! I bought my first yorkie (and dog!) this year, and I joined this site months beore bringing her home so that I could really be prepared for everything yorkie! There are many members on this site that like to talk about the nitty gritty, and only because they love their yorkies as much as you do and love discussing them. As a YT newbie, I think some of the "phrases" that you used (and I agree with others that you probably were just misinformed about some of the technicalities about your babies), like hybrid and designer, that is what set members off. You have to realize there are so many people out there (of which you're obviously not, I can tell you love your furbabies and would do anything for them) that buy this breed without researching because they want a "purse puppy", and they buy from unethical money hungry breeders who don't care about the care and wellbeing of the breed, only about how many thousands they can make on their "teacups." Anyway, I'm glad you're sticking around, trust me that everyone on here is here for the same reason, we love our yorkies, and we LOVE to talk about them! |

I agree. Some people on here are ignorant and rude. Do they really not have anything else to do in their lives other than bag on other people? |

I did post a very long and winded post but I wanted the OP to understand where I was coming from, and maybe offer a background to why things like red flags are such button pushers. |
Exatly, neither members nor this site hide what we're all about lol! |
Thanks for taking the time to write all of these comments! I am definitely not trying to make enemies here and DO want to learn from knowledgeable people who know this breed, are the professionals and have its very best interests at heart! And as far as the !!!! goes that's just how I write! Not trying to yell at anybody or be rude! I always use exclamation points and that's just me, will try and change that although if I do that again just know its a habit that's hard to break! LOL. I do plan on sticking around and hope once some of you get to know me you will learn that I am passionate too about my dogs although still learning and hope to always still be learning! I am not trying to change people's opinions, the standards, the honest commentary, I just hope that people will go more easy on the newbies and people who honestly aren't trying to do anything wrong! Go nuts on those that are or have devious intentions! I will pick up a torch right behind you! I do plan on exploring the site a little more every single day but that can't have been expected on my first day and WAS! As someone said earlier, maybe think back to how you were when you were new at yorkies and think back to the people that made you love the breed more and be who you are today! Someone had a hand in that! We always walk stronger because there was someone who paved the way and made it easier for us to stand on their shoulders and do it better! We have the ability to be helpful and make people love this breed more and WANT the info/education or the opposite. None of us is perfect and we can all do a little better today than we did yesterday and that's all I'm saying! I need the knowledge of the pros but I don't want to be abused by it either! Not trying to beat a dead horse either for the person that made that comment! I just think this is pretty important (obviously there are a few people who agree with me) and if you can't stand the discussion there are a zillion other threads to look at! Hope you enjoy walking your dogs...I might get off and do the same (if I can get Paris to leave her baby for 15 minutes!) I look forward to getting to know you guys better, look forward to learning from you with each passing day and appreciate your feedback along with you letting me talk and express my heart! See you around YT! |
Please Stick With Us! I am sorry you were treated in a manner that made you feel unwelcome. Some Yorkie lovers just are so passionate that they post words that have no voice tone, body language, or facial expressions to truly convey what they feel and mean. As a result, their words can hurt. I have found that those that are the most passionate offer great advice. But, when you rely on the written word only, it is hard to tell about the delivery style. Realize that many of us love our Yorkies and will offer simple advice or words of encouragement. Don't let this first negative experience turn you away. You have too much to offer and too much to gain. We value our new YT members. I'm new myself and this forum has helped me alot as I am a first time dog owner. Welcome and start learning and posting. It's great fun! Don't take posts too seriously and realize we have a common bond . . . we love our furbabies.:) |
