Snow in the East How are all of you Easterners doing with the snow storm? I hope everyone is safe and you do not lose your power so you can spend your snow days on YT. |
Loosing power is always my biggest concern. Actually we may get lucky in my area for a change, only 3-6 with most accumulation S and W from us. Seems like those So of NY are getting hit bad this winter. My sister, in So Jersey is expecting 18-24" and they get very little usually. She already called in work for tomorrow to tell them she can't get there:p I'm glad it's coming on the weekend so I don't have to take a vacation day incase I can't get out. Be safe everyone. I'm going to put together my excercise trampoline I purchased from HSN tomorrow. I hope I don't fly off the damn thing and break a hip:( It looked interesting so now we'll see. Anyone have one? Possibly being trapped in doors I just may learn to use it. Something else for Buddy to bark at:aimeeyork |
I'm in the eastern panhandle of WV. Wasn't to bad here, just coming down all day lightly. However, about 1/2 hr agon it started really hammering us. A couple feet are anticipated for my area...oh yay!! Truely, I have seen enough of it and need SPRING now!!!:D |

We are getting 5 to 8 inches top, which is good for my neck of the woods we are always getting hit hard so is ok when we don't get the most.:) |

I'm sooooooo excited! :D :D :D :D :D I'm not sure exactly how much we're supposed to get. Every time someone talks about it it goes up another foot LOL. Most of the radio stations are pretty firm now at 8-12 inches. This snow kind of ruined my weekend, so I'm gonna be quite miffed if it doesn't come. I keep looking out my window to see if it's snowing yet. :p I want snowwwwwwwww. Everyone is insane though. I babysit for a local family, and at work tonight the father called me and was like "I'm going to be another half an hour. You'd think we were going to be snowed in for a year with all the morons out here! The most we've been snowed in is, what, 3 days? Welcome to the last day on earth!" It was cracking me up. :p Then I stopped in Shoprite with my dad (we were buying cookie dough..not bread and milk ;)) and people were litterally in a panic - just grabbing stuff off the shelves and buying it by the cart load! It's crazy! Calm down, people! |

We are getting lots of snow. it is going to be crazy just getting out of the driveway. DH and DS called off work tonight. roads are to bad. |

3 Attachment(s) Our power went out around 3 am. Luckily I bought a generator this week, so I got that running around 7 and fueled the fireplace and kerosene heater. We're pretty toasty right now. Hopefully the power will come back on in the next 30 hours, cause I don't know if I have enough fuel beyond that :eek: Spent the morning shoveling ... not my idea of a fun and relaxing weekend. |

wooooooo we got snoowwww :) It started last night around 11. I woke up this morning to only about 5 inches. It's still coming down hard and we're expecting another 4-6. :) I'll take pictures soon. we're just having a fun snow day inside. :) We'll shovel tomorrow when it stops snowing. ;) I'm not jealous of my brother at the moment. He's on the fire department and they've been out since 2 this morning doing various snow-safety things. Brrr!!! |

Being that I'm in New Hampshire, it was soooooo weird to watch the news this weekend and hear about all that snow, and none of it hitting New Hampshire at all. Usually its us who is all over the news for snowstorms that bring FEET of snow! I feel for those who got hammered, but we've been there, done that... so enjoy it! :) :) :) |
