I have a terrible time sleeping. I sleep for an hour then right back up..then I will go back to sleep and right back up. I have talked with my doctor and she will not give sleep meds. so I just suffer and play farmville.. |
For awhile I also had trouble sleeping. Every little noise would wake me up and I could never fall back asleep. I don't like taking meds so I used alternative methods. I researched online and read alot of health books. Here's what worked for me. •Exercise regulary (very very important- even if it's just taking a walk) •Eat healthy - lots of fruits and veggies •Meditate/Pray •Take your Multi-vitamin •Lavender oil - I burn it every night in my bedroom before I go to sleep and I also use a lavender massage oil on back of my wrists and little on my pillow. •Chamomile tea/Bed time tea •Natural Calm (a relaxing magnesium supplement you drink it warm like a tea) I take it every night with Calcium citrate and vit. D •I play very low ocean sounds all night - white sounds are very relaxing find the one that works best for you. (I find that when I forget to turn it on I wake up in the middle of the night) •Hot shower before bed Pick a few at a time and see what works best for you. Good luck I hope this helps:D |
I have used benadryl and it works for me, but can cause that sleepy hangover effect. |

sleep apnea I have struggled with this for several years thinking it was hormonal due to menopause. I went to the dr asking for sleep aids 2 yrs ago and she said not before a sleep study. I ignored her request for a sleep study thinking she was crazy, well time went on and other symptoms appeared and I went back in Dec and she again insisted on a sleep study. It turns out to be sleep apnea. It takes me hours to go to sleep and I am up and down all night. I can't seem to sleep more than an hour or 2 at a time. I am hoping there is change on the horizon but I wish I would of dealt with my sleep issues earlier. I would talk to the dr if it kepts up. Please don't suffer through it thinking it will work itself out. Its not worth it. I tried everything and it never lasts only a quick fix. |
After drinking some chamomile tea, lay on your bed and start by making a fist and slowly concetrate on hardening every part of your body from your jaw all the way down to your toes. Then when your fully tense, take a deep breath and slowly start relaxing one part of your body at a time. Your body wil be relax and your mind should be focusing on you. If that dosen't work start reading the Constitution of TX, that should do it. |
I suffer from it too. I try to drink tea but sometimes that doesn't help. Some nights i just fall asleep right away, while other nights it will take a loooonng time, i can lay in bed for hours trying to fall asleep! This is why i need my tv..usually leaving my tv on will make me fall asleep but i threw mine out to get a new one:rolleyes: |
