Apple people, need some feedback
 

Wandered into the Apple store yesterday at the Mall and fell in love with
it. It seems so easy and so full of everything. I signed up for a free
class next Sat to learn about it. If you have one I would really like
your feedback in owning one. My PC has been put out to pasture:p
and I need a new one, so I thought this would be good for me.
What do you think of yours, is it easy to learn and use?

My friend got a new mac for Christmas and took the classes, she LOVES it!

We own a couple of MACS. My husband is obsessed. I do like it better than our PC. A class will be very beneficial. I probably should take one as well. I only do the basics but I know it has tons of potential. Great computers!

The store person was so helpful and sat with me while we played on one.
I say played because I had no idea what the heck I was doing!:p
They also, for $100.00 a year, will give you unlimited 1hr private lessons
on your new Mac and program it for you. That's just what I need since
I'm computer Illiteriate. Is that a word?:confused:

I bought one for my Dad 6 months ago and he LOVES it! He is not a techie, nor I, but the online tutorials are great and it's so user friendly. I purchased a PC 1 yr ago and I have been kicking myself since I met the Mac. I say go for it~

We got one for my Daughter and she loves it and they last a long time. Apples are the only computers me or my Husband are going to buy from now on.

My daughter chose the Mac for her college laptop two years ago. She has loved everything about it. I have to admit, when she comes home I am a bit jealous at all the things it can do. The only problem we recently ran in to was filling out some forms. I think her mac had trouble with some Adobe functions. But, that is the only thing we have ever found yet to be any problem.

I was converted ;) in December 2008 when I experienced my first PC crash and burn. After a tearful trip to Best Buy, where an Apple representative comforted me, I discovered the joys of the Mac world.

I bought the Mac desktop for my home office, but I'm still chained to Bill Gates and Windows on my notebook until I can justify replacing it.

Sometimes I miss certain features in Outlook mail, but the transition to the new operating system/programs was easy and wonderful.

Macs rock!

Bought myself a MacBook Pro a month ago and will NEVER go back to a PC. Everything is sooo much faster, easier and better. No virus programs, no need to clear cookies every week, no need to re fragment your disc, it's amazing and can do SO much that I haven't even done yet.

I'm basically all Apple products now. I've got my amazing iPhone, my iPod and now my Macbook Pro. They make great products!

I must add... such fast service! :thumbup: I went into the Apple store on New Year's Eve to pick up my laptop. I was in and out of there with a new computer within 15 minutes.

Those were my thoughts as well. I'm not computer literate by any means
and need all the help I can get. The Apple just looked awsome to use.
Also, what's nice about a lap top is I can use it in the family room while
I watch TV and get on YT at night. LOL
My PC was in the bedroom!

Carol I just got hubby the mini mac for xmas. Tired of the whole virus and issues with windows. He loves it. It is not a huge learning curve from what I can tell. I am thinking that when my laptop goes to the electronic heaven I am going to get that mac. It will be a while because my Sony Vaio is only 2 1/2 years old.

Since I have no other high tech assessories, can barely stand a cell phone,
I'm good to go as long as my camera can upload onto the computer.
This is going to be my birthday present to me! Last time I bought myself
a birthday present it was Buddy:p

I purchased the new iMac. LOVE IT!!

One of the greatest things about Macs is that all of the necessary software/drivers/good stuff for almost all digital cameras and printers is already in it. You won't have to load a thing!

i am a total MAC addicted after switching over...it took me a long time to make the switch....because I was so anti-mac...lol...but now i am kicking myself wondering why i didn't make the switch earlier! I am trying to work and save money to get the 27" iMac....their display will absolutely great for digital photography! hehe

I love Apple products. :) The hardest thing for me when I switched was to click at the top left corner of the screen at the little red circle to close the windows, instead of clicking the "X" on the top right, he he

I've been a happy Mac user for 21 years now, with several still working just fine in my house. My only problem is talking myself into getting a new one every once in a while, cause I haven't had any fail on me... .they just seem to last forever. The PowerBook G4 Laptop I now have is over 5 years old, and still does everything I need it to.

Good luck, I don't think you will regret it. I even got my mom one and she is hooked after many PC disappointments.

Yup, I've been loving macs since 1999 when I was studying graphic design. My dad is so into pcs still I don't know why. I bought him a mac mini a few years ago and he still didn't want to use it! So I took that sucker back! No viruses ever, even when certain family members visit "adult" sites. You know going there you will get some kind of virtual VD! :D

Also if you don't want to pay full price for a mac, I have bought 3 now from craigslist. A few years old but WAAAAAAAYYYYY cheaper, and still just as good! for example, the desktop I'm on right now, a 10.4.11 with 19" monitor and keyboard=$400! How can you beat that?! I also got my (older) ibook with CS2 installed in it. So you can get the *bit* older macs from CL with free software!

I will never go back to a PC!

I bought a Mac back in October or November and I don't see why everybody thinks they are so great. I like it a lot, but I still don't see whats so great about it that I couldn't do on PC for the huge price difference.

So maybe I need to take one of those classes and I can find out about all the great things. So far the only thing I really like is being able to edit adobe files.

Do you want an iPad? Doesn't seem to do too much.

Yes, I do. It's not meant too be a "computer" but more of a media device. Watch movies, play apps, listen to music, read books, browse the web......

I think some are disappointed it's not more of a computer that does "everything". It's supposed to be something to use on your couch or bed, on a plane... If it did everything that everyone wanted it to it would of cost a lot more, than people would be complaining about that. This is also just the first generation, imagine it in 2 or 3, 4 or 5 more. The possibilities one day will be amazing.

I think it's going to sell well, the price point is good and it will bring many more users to be able to do the things it's intended for with a touch of their fingers and without the complicity of a computer operating system.

I love love love my iPhone and since I bought it two years ago, I repeatedly said "I wish I had one with a bigger screen." Now I can, yay!!! I can use my iPhone for 99% of what I do on the computer and now even more with the large screen of the iPad.

I know that laptops you can buy for cheaper that do the same type of things and maybe more, but some like me, hate the track pad, I still can't copy and paste, hate the boot times. The touch of the iPad is easy for children, older people and those that are unfamiliar with computers.


It will replace my laptop, work as a book reader and DVD player in the car..... I can't wait. :)

I have had my Mac laptop for about a year and a half. I love it..there are so many great things about it. Easy to use, so organized. It's great! I would say, go for it!

You're right, the 2nd or 3rd generation will be great. Remember 1st generation iphone you couldn't even click links, copy/paste, etc. I believe the ipad can't run 2 apps at the same time. :(
