I hate craigslist..just a vent and sorry its long..

but Im addicted.. and I check the pets section a few times a day.

So 2 days ago I checked and there was this underfed, clearly not healthy, very sad looking st. bernard that was unaltered and being kept outside chained to a cement block and the picture showed no shelter. I live in snow country, many feets a year, this dog was located almost and hour north of me, so they get even more snow and its been below freezing here at night time. She was selling the dog for 250 dollars and it needed to be gone by the end of the month. (As a side note, if she was giving this dog away I would of went and got him in a heartbeat but I just couldnt pull together the 250)
So I posted and asked if the dog had shelter, that it looked like it needed medical care, etc. I was not the only one that posted about how bad this dog looked and how bad it needed a home NOW.. my post got flagged.. no surprise, so the did the orignal ad about the dog. So overnight several other posts were made about how they wanted the dog, she should be turned in etc..She posted the same ad, with the same pics on another website. It was located, and reposted on craigslist for the people that wanted to help this poor dog.. anyways during all this a person comes on DEFENDING her, saying that her hubby just died, she had alot of dogs, more than half of them being kept outside under tarps?? and that she had more inside, including a new litter of shihtzus and that you could "smell" her house before you even got to the door.. BUT to leave her alone, because she was grieving, her collecting pets was her way to grieve, etc. So after that post, I sent an email to the person defending her and said maybe you should give her rescue info to help her out, she shouldnt be taking in dogs if she cant afford them or care for them, that she really should be turned in for the good of the animals and her, and that it wasnt really healthy living in a house that you could smell from outside. After sending the email I also posted on CL pretty much the same thing, I was not offensive or rude at all and trust me I wanted to be, then another "friend" of this lady comes on blasting me, calling me an idiot, moron, that she takes care of her animals, that I dont know her.. blah, blah, blah, and then they turned me in for slandering, harassing and stated that they "had my number" and was calling the owner of the dog, so that she can also turn me in.. I was so pissed off that I had to let it go, before it got to ugly..There were a few people interested so Im hoping one of them took him in.
I think I will be staying away from CL's for awhile..

home for my babies.I would love you come get the babies so that we can
learn to know each other better,more over, so that i can drill you on
raising them, but if you can not make it here, i would fly them along
side their hand booklet Guide . If you have to come, that should be
sooner as i would be traveling out of the Country for a Business
reason.Am not selling okay, They are like a gift to the less Financial
and caring Families. I know there so many people who can take care of
puppies but they do not have much money to buy puppies from the pet
shops. So I give my puppies to people who can really show love and
take care of them with all their heart and all you are required is to
pay just for the change of ownership documents and shipping fee which
is $135 for one and $260 for both.I can give only a maximum of two
puppies to each person.As we are talking now, only two are left, So
you really need to prove to me beyond every reasonable doubt that you
are the right family for my Puppies. I am not Desperate to give my
babies to inconsiderate and less caring Families because first, i am
not selling them and secondly, i simply want a good home for them and
most Often good Homes are given by less privilege Families with less
finance.All the same,Prove your Capability and i would make your
Family forever happy by giving you the chance to home one or more of
my Babies, Except you can show me that you can really take care of
more puppies then I can give more. I am going to send you the puppies
food guide, play guide, and health guide so that you would know how to
take care of the puppy. Where are you located? If you can assure me
that you would take very good care of my baby then I am going to give
them to you. please get back to me as soon as you can.

I agree, it sounds like a scam.

Be very, very careful. There are many trolls on craigslist.

How sad that people take advantage of others this way. I have seen many ads/posts in various websites that read just this same way.
I agree: SCAM...stay away!
