Explain your sign-on name
 
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what a lot of our sign-on names mean, but I'd love to hear what some of the less-obvious ones mean. I'm guessing Villette owns (or wants a) 1998 red Corvette. I PM'd Orinskye one time and got a very cool explanation of an almost poetic nickname. (I'll let her decide if she wants to share it).

I'll start it out: I'm from Alaska and own a Yorkie. Duh.

My user name is what I drove when I started being online....I HAD a 98 Red Corvette...before that a Purple 1886 Vette ....that was my BABY.

Since we had to sell the car due to financial problems from Medical bills etc... I still keep the name in memory of it - It's only been gone a year and I STILL miss it.

Well Im really dissapointed as I was trying to figure out how to join yt and just put my name not thinking and I wish so much I could have a cool one like some of you guys.

lol...I know what you mean. At first I thought it was weird to call people by their sign-on names when they obviously weren't their real names, but now I like the mystery to it. When someone calls me "Mike," it's like, "I'm sorry, I'm AlaskaYorkie. You must be confusing me with someone else."

But I like Dianne just fine. You want mystery? Here it is:

Wow, a 1886 Vette, that is one TRUE classic, eh? ;) Heheh, I know you meant 1986, just had to rub it in...

I'm had the nickname fasteddie since the Bulletin Board days (with 2400 baud modems and all that jazz), well before the Internet was popular, since the late 80s probably. I just thought it was a cool "handle" and rolled off the tongue easy. I think the first time I heard it was a friend of mine mentioned it in some way, and I thought it was cool... Plus I like to do things fast? ;) So I've pretty much used it throughout since that time...

Ponyup mine is kinda like V. I'm a mustang girl. I had a 2003 mustang, but had to trade it in when the 2005's came out. I have a royal blue 2005 mustang GT now and I absolutely adore it. My family has always had mustangs. My uncle had a 69' shelby. My grandpa had a 70' Mach 1 and my parents have a '94 mustang GT convertible. I also used to show horses. so it serves a duel purpose.

I used my poetry writing name...I have had it for YEARS..My mother helped me choose it...she said she wanted me to shine like a silver star...but I would rather stay in the shadows ;)

I have a horrible memory so I have to stick to the one phrase that I use for all my login names everywhere :rolleyes: . I came up with it before I got CHloe.

It is my name and my chihuahuas name combined. Easy as that :D

Ok mine came..are you ready for this guys??...Ok I was dating this CK model back in college, and he was a hottie but way self absorbed. So both of us we're so concerned about how we looked all the time, we nick named eachother vain1 and vain2. So when I wanted to get an e-mail account, he went on there and posted my name vainchick, so I added 5 like the day of my birthday (8/5). So it's stuck with me ever since.

I was used to signing up on investment forums (by accident) I used the same ole same ole, not thinking.

Feminvstr is Feminvestor reason some letters are missing is because this was an email account as well when I had AOL, they only allowed so many letters for a name. Ive been on line since AOL started paying $2.50 per hour YIKES! Boring story for sure:)

Orin: comes from my highschool days, all my friends called me this because i drew awesome designs and stuff. I was deffinatly known as the class artist. Anyways, the stuff i drew someone reminded them of the "orin" symbol in the neverending story, hence the first part of my name.
Skye: since my life in high school centered around art, my freinds parents used to say that "the sky is teh limit" for me......... so..... skye (oh, and i am also writing a book in which skye is teh main character ;) )
So, that is my explanation: put them together and you have orinskye :D

River is my Quarter Horses's barn name. Her registered name is I'm Spiced Just Right, but I didn't like anything in that name so I gave her a barn name of Snowy River, after my favorite movie, The Man From Snowy River. She's River for short, and the name has kinda grown on me. I use it alot for online accounts.

all of my screen names, character names in games, email accounts have medusa in them. it's been my brother's nickname for me for 20 years and it stuck.
the 512 is random, but my birthday is 5/09 :) stupid msn wouldn't let me just have medusa. how many medusas are out there really?
and so i keep it the same so i don't forget.

Most of you guys have such cute screen names. Mine is just boring. Artie is my first name and Rae is my middle name, so artierae. (I have no imagination.) Actually, I do, but the first time I got a computer and wanted to set up an email acct. that is what I used, so now I use it for everything.

tmcurtis312-the first initial of my first name & maiden name and Curtis is my last name and 312 is my birthday. I too would like to have cool name and have looked to see if I could change it but I couldn't find any place. I guess I would have to register all over again.
