How scary. So glad he is ok! |
I just witnessed something similar the other day while eating out. I looked up to see the family that just left the restaurant we were eating at suddenly screech their brakes, the Dad flys outta the car & grabs his maybe 3-4 yr old and do the Heimlich right there in the parking lot! He was successful in dislodging the free candy mint that his son had picked up on his way out of the restaurant. Poor baby was crying afterwards...cuz his candy fell on the ground!:( |
So glad your DH was able to dislodge it.....Smart move on your part in getting ready to dial 911, just in case.......I am certified in CPR/First Aid and had to perform the maneuver once on my lil nephew (2 yrs old) while on a camping trip...One thing to always be on the look out for afterwards is any swelling that could block the throat from the irritation....Glad everything turned out alright... |
How scary, so glad you guys were able to respond so fast. Any time my daughter makes any coughing sounds I get a sick feeling in my stomach. |
GOOD JOB jmdt's Husband!!! That is really fast thinking...it's so hard not to panic. I hope you're feeling less shaken tonight, it's really scary to witness this. All the best to your family! :) |
Thank you so much for your kind wishes. I am less shaken now but it is still on my mind. |
I had to do that to my 5 year old daughter 10 years ago. She was choking on a Starburst. Freaked us both out pretty seriously. So glad it turned out okay! |
I know this was originally posted a few weeks ago, but I just wanted to say that I'm so glad that your son is OK. I have two sons (7 and 4) and a one year old daughter, and I would have just freaked out as well. |
