I hope your Husband gets home safely soon. It hasnt even started snowing here yet.

He still has not made it. I 77 into Beckley WV has been stalled for 10 hours. This is just terrible. I would say 10,000 people are stuck in it. I don't know when he will make it home. It is not suppose to stop snowing until Sunday around 6pm. I am worried about him but I am also worried about if people have kids in the other cars. It is reporting alot are starting to run out of gas. It is 24 degrees right now..

Oh no, I hope your husband and all those people will be okay. Are they sending emergency vehicles to help evacuate people? Sending prayers that your hubby is okay.

We're proably about 6" from what I see on my patio right now, not sure how acurate that is. Here is what I just took a picture of.

I just measured on my deck and it was 31 inches. My picnic table is gone under the snow.

He called the state police to try to find out anything but they didn't know. I am really worried we have alot more to come. He has no food or water and I know he is not the only one. I think about the little babies that have to have formula and if they have enough.If they are out of gas they are cold too.. I could just cry. Maybe when it get daylight they will send help to the kids.

I am sure that everyone is doing what they can and maybe people are joining forces to stay warm and the best of human kindness is coming out. Do you know if the folks are taking turns grouping together in someones car to keep warm? At least maybe this way they can conserve the energy and take turns in someone elses car. I always try to have a blanket in my, although being out there for so long I don't know how much that would help.

I am here sending your hubby and all those folks stranded some good thoughts and prayers. I am also thinking of you as you must be frightened. I am sorry. :(

What is the word on your husband? How is the roof holding up? I would be frantic.

Last I checked we have around 35 inches. My husband is still stuck. He is hungry, tired and thristy. They have finally called in the National Gaurd to help clear up the road, bringing food and gas.

OMG, that is a lot of snow. No wonder people can't drive in it. How long until the temperatures warm up and the snow starts melting?

It's warming up.. it is 33 right now.

I am so worried... I have been talking to him on his cell phone and now I can't get him.

I heard on the news that in some places people are just abandoning their vehicles in the road and finding other ways home. Is their anyone out rescuing these people. I can't imagine being in a car that long stuck on the highway. I pray you hear something soon.

Oh my gosh! I just came on for an update and I am so sorry about your hubby being stuck out there! And all those other people! I can't even imagine being stuck like that with my children in those temps! :eek: I will be praying for everyone's safety.

We have gotten about 6 inches, but the power's not out and i hope it stays that way. I love the snow and really wanted it but i need to get my x-mas shopping done too. =]

Thanks everyone! He had to walk about 3 miles to get home.

The snow is so deep the kids can not even play. They take one step and it is up to their waist and can't move.

I went out and cleaned off the truck and thought I was going to the store...I should have known it wouldn't go when I fell down in the snow and coulnd't hardly get back up.

I don't like being trapped! I AM OUT OF DIET DR. PEPPER AND MARLBORO'S!!! I am going through major withdraw here... I am ready to beat the first person I see that says they like snow....

I am so glad that your husband is home safe with you. :)

I can't say we're as buried as you but we've gotten probaby 12" here in MD.

Im glad your hubby is home. We didnt end up getting hardly any snow at all like less than an inch but were supposed to get a bunch on Christmas eve
