I honestly do not think parents should encourage children to look at athletes as role models.
Time and time again we have seen that they are human and have clay feet.
It is one thing to admire their athletic abilities....another to think they are perfect human beings. There is no such thing.

Why do people forget that these "celebrities" are HUMAN!! Many people, celebrities or not, make many mistakes and keep making them until they lose/almost lose everything they have. Thank goodness I am not a "celebrity" so my mistakes are not all over for the world to see.

Ok, let me first say that yes I am married and would be LIVID if my husband did the things that Tiger has done....ok, here's where I am probably going to have you guys throwing things at the computer screen. :p How many men do you think would be loyal in this situation?? Not at all a "normal" situation...traveling, women that sought him out for the reason of having sex, more women doing the same thing, then traveling to the next city and then the whole thing starts all over again. Question....is Tiger the norm or do you think the way he handled it is the rare case? Seriously, how would most men deal with all of this...do you feel that Tiger's actions are off-base for how most men would behave in the same situation?

Please do not get mad at me for posting the above. Trust me....I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO against cheating!!!!!! I am also NOT making excuses for him (because what he has done is awful and hurtful to his wife and child...plain and simple!!). But, really....do we sometimes expect these men to be super-human? Could he have said no....OF COURSE!!! But how insistant do you think these women have been? I can almost guarantee you they have been ruthless and have stopped at nothing and do not accept no.

Ok, now that I have written this, I hope you guys aren't mad at my random thoughts....and yes, I agree...12 women (and counting) is horrendous and completely without thought to his family. I just think that sometimes we, as a society, are quick to overlook the actions of women like the ones that he was involved with...we tend to get angry with the man and ignore that there was another person in the mix.

There is absolutely no excuse for what he did. I wouldn't care if a naked
women laid down in front of him egging him on, he should have some
morals IMO. That's exactally what's wrong in today's society.

You are 100% correct in the fact that there was NO right in what he did....NONE! My point was that we never seem to blame the women that pursue these men. It's all put on the man....and yes, he is fully responsible for his own actions, but he's also not superman. I also believe that a person should not get married if they are not mentally equipped for what comes along with it. My point was, he's NOT super human and maybe he lacks morals and good judgement (obviously), but we overlook the "morals" of the women that chased him. That's all I was saying. Look back through your post...there is no mention of lack of self-restraint on these womens' part...only Tiger's.

Again, I ask....do you honestly think that he handled it any differently than how other men would??

I think he is a horrible person for what he did to his poor wife. She just had a baby and to think he was with all these woman while she was pregnant.. what a sin. I do however think this christmas card is hysterical. Attachment 301740

I feel bad for his wife....how sad for her...to know that she needs to leave someone that I am sure she loves. :( My heart hurts for her!

And by the way...if he will cheat on her, he will cheat on anyone. For obvious reasons to do with his morals, but also have ya seen her?! She is so beautiful!

There will always be women like this. Look at the Rock Stars and the
women who follow them. Low lives also, IMO. Would they marry one,
of course not! Women like this don't deserve the time of day but a man
will give them 20mins everytime. The women who do these sorts of things
don't really care about the man they only care about the prestiage, or so
they think, that comes with it. Get their name out there and perhaps Hollywood would want them! Their garbage and any "good man" should know
this. Look what he lost. Those women had nothing to loose and all to gain
from acts like this. They have no morals to begin with. He should have known
different. He lost it all, IMO. His father must have rolled over in his grave,
he had him up on a pedistol where we all did.
I'd like to ask him, was it worth it? Shame on him. He's weak and insecure.
A real man would not have done such a thing. IMO. At least not 12 times!

I don't blame the women because they did not take a vow to be faithful. The only one who made this vow was Tiger....I don't think these women are admirable in any way, and if they actually pursued Tiger, they need to get a life. But ultimately, Tiger is the one who screwed up.

FWIW, if I were Tiger's wife, I would be getting tested for every STD under the sun.

Wow - this whole thing must be so devastating to his wife, kids and extended family! My heart goes out to her. It's so much to put up with and right before the holidays.

I don't know how a person (man or woman) can let this kind of thing get so out of control - except to say that some people feel entitled!

At first I thought - ok, they're people and need their space to work out their problems. All marriages have something to deal with. I am really tired of the tabloids taking every little thing they can and posting it for the world to see - even if it's true. Some of this is none of our business. However, when they started adding more and more names to the list of females that he had an extended sexual tryst with - it was no longer a private matter. He made it public because we all know that the more amount of people that know something - the more likely it will be talked about.

I don't care that he was an athlete - I understand that they can't be held to being perfect - but he did/does have some responsibility to be a decent human being, a father, a husband and a spokesperson for many elite products!!!

A few times, maybe even with a few females -- but this guy had "on-going" trysts with "many" females!!! He set many of the trysts up himself! UGH!!! If I was his wife - I would have beat him like a dirty rug!

And as for the "females" that he was having sex with - they all knew he was married and famous. As far as I'm concerned - they're all whores! Especially the PIG from Perkins! I truly hope that they do not get any "deals" out of this. I'm thoroughly disgusted with females that don't respect other women and their marriages. I guess they'll take what they can get - whenever they can get it - which means that they don't think too highly of themselves - and neither do I! No morals - no ethics - no conscious!

I hope his wife takes him for all that she can and more!

I hope he looses his endorsements.

I couldn't agree with these statements more! :thumbup: That was one of the things that reallly just irked me with the whole Michael Vick situation--that he was condemned for his inability to live up to the public's expectations as a "role model." It's not the job of celebrities to shape the morals of kids! Celebs provide more than enough proof that they are not who you want your kids looking up too.

Granted, I'm disappointed by what has come to surface regarding the situation with Tiger Woods, but I'm even more disgusted by the fact that the general public feels like it's their right to have all the details divulged to them. :thumbdown I feel sorry for his wife for having to deal with such a horrible situation and I feel even worse for her knowing that she's having to deal with it in the public spotlight...all because there are people who find 'entertainment' in what transpires in the personal lives of others.

I hope I'm not naive in thinking that Tiger's behavior is the exception and not the rule when it comes to most men .....I would hope that when confronted with the decisions of whether or not to accept the offers of a "warm place to put it"......They would make a choice that would show dignity, pride and a good set of moral values and just say ,"Thanks, but no thanks."...... Where there is no choice, there is no morality......

Tiger had this public persona of a being "good" guy, a respectable, honorable, moral man.....a man of good character. That was his public image for the most part.

Now the public sees that his character and his sense of morality is severely flawed ....Apparently it always was, but it was well hidden from the public eye, and probably from his poor wife as well....When it came to a time where he had to make a conscience choice, he chose self gratification, a choice that apparently was easier, even if destructive, he most likely he rarely heard the word "No" from the people who surrounded him, which can easily make a person believe they are the center of the universe and that the feelings of others are quite secondary.

For any woman wanting an exclusive relationship with him he has now shown that he will be a threat and a liability to them. The message to other women is when he's confronted with the decision to be honorable he will more likely than not will choose to do wrong again, he will chose what feels good to him at the time. Tiger has shown to the world his particular character faults, weaknesses and lack of maturity ......

For him to use the “Oh well, I’m only human.” or “I’m not perfect.” excuse is ridiculous. It’s typically used as an escape clause out of a guilty conscience. I would imagine if he says this he believes or hopes he can not or should not be condemned, judged or criticized. This is always a good way to be excused for doing wrong..... do what you want then justify......Typical.....

With all these women now coming out I'm quite surprised there hasn't been a secret child hidden out somewhere.....I guess time will tell...

Sorry Misty, Have to disagree with you. When they enter the relm of Celebrity it comes with a BIG price. Your life IS an open book and who cares if he is a Celebrity, he took vows in front of God. He is a liar. Look at Derek Jeter, single a Celebrity and didn't lie in front of God. And is Player! Why get married if you feel the need to play. I feel so sorry for his wife and babies, heard they went back to Sweden. I bet his endorsments will start dropping him, I heard Gatoraide is discontinuing the Tiger Line of Sports drinks. Good for them.
