I am sorry, but if you are professional athelete, you are a role model, like it or not, Kids look up to you so you better live your life a little more like those that toe the line. You give up a lot to be a superstar in the public eye so you need to be aware of what you do in front of, and behind close doors because you never know who may have a camera or cell phone. (What you do in the dark will soon come to light) Character is what you do when no one is around. Can you honestly tell me these knuckle heads have good charcter....And yes, they are role models...If you do not remember, Vick raised DOGS to fight and if they did not they were killed!!!!

So they are held to lesser moral standards because they don't have a ring on their finger??? :confused: I THINK NOT!! It does not matter who took the vows...wrong is wrong and those women are JUST as responsible as Tiger, PERIOD....no free passes just because Tiger was the married one.

DH just told me that Playgirl has received photos purportedly of Tiger, naked. They are, according to media gossip, attempting to authenticate and if successful they will publish them. I wonder how they can do this legally, but I guess that's up to them

IF (and a big IF) I had kids I would teach them that their role models are their parents, their teachers, police officers, fireman, Animal rescues, chairtie workers, etc. Kids can be in awe of an athlete or rockstar, but they should be taught the difference. (just my tid bit)

Tiger to me is the best man in golf (thats it) and he still is. He really did nothing worse than any other cheater. What he did was disgusting, and the women who sought out a married, rich, athlete is JUST as sick. That is TRASH! Anyway, I havent lost sleep yet. lol

Tiger was the one who vowed to be faithful to Elin. Not these other women. In fact, at least one of them did not even know Tiger was married when their affair began!

Don't blame the women. Yes, I think they are bimbos, and having an affair with a married man is a DEAD END and nothing good can come of it. But in the end, the blame lies with Tiger. He is not some wild animal who cannot control his physical urges and who acts on instinct alone. He is an adult who is made a concious choice to deceive and dishonor his wife.

I have repeatedly said that if my husband had an affair, I would not be angry at the other woman. But I would be furious with my husband. I still feel that way.

HOW can you NOT know that TIGER WOODS is married? She is on the field ALL the time when he plays. That woman is full of crap! These women know what they were doing! Looking for CASH. I think they are equally wrong. I dont see how Tigers sins are worse than theirs. They are all wrong and all Ho's!

Look, there are always going to be young women (in this case either cocktail waitresses or porn stars) who will want to hook up with a rich man, married or not. These men are not wild animals who cannot control their urges.. Tiger should have smiled, maybe told the young women that he was flattered, thought about his wife and babies at home, and KEPT IT IN HIS PANTS. Plenty of men do this every day, but it doesn't make good headlined. And it gets easier with practice. These women are never going to go away. So if Tiger and Elin are going to save their marriage, Tiger needs to change HIMSELF...

My husband is a really handsome guy. (We have what I call an "inter-facial" marriage--he is great looking, and I am not). Women are hitting on him all the time. When it happens, I smile to myself and make note of their good taste. But if he cheated on me, that would be a whole other story...;)

You are right...they are veiwed as role models (by some) whether they like it or not. But their status comes as a result of their athletic abilities. Regardless to what he does within the confines of his own marriage, he is still a superb golfer. I completely agree that they are role models becaue that is how the general public chooses to view them. If people can't draw the line between admiring their athletic abilities/movie roles and what they do in their personal lives...then it seems like those people have issues as well. it's like saying that Princess Diana is to fault for her own death because it's 'just soemthing that comes with the position.'
Of course, everyone is still going to draw their own opinions about him as a person, because he IS a public figure and it HAS been aired publically. And don't get me wrong, I think it was a rather sleezeball way to go too. But to get upset and blame a celebrity because you dont' like the message that what they do in the confines of their own home sends your kids? I find that a bit hard to justify.

Absolutely! I think the problem is that some adults have not learned how to distinguish the difference either. :rolleyes: Parents should take a more proactive role in who their kids look up to....kids don't know any better, parents should...instead of waiting until a celeb screws up and then being upset because 'they let our kids down.' Celebs have no responsibility to make sure they are projecting the right image to our kids.

It is my opinion that these women did not break any vows. Only Tiger did. Tiger is WAY MORE WRONG than these bimbo women were.

When an alcoholic falls off the wagon, do we blame the booze? (no). When a problem-gambler starts gambling again, do we blame the casino? (no). Temptation is EVERYWHERE. We can be accountable, or we can blame others. In my opinion, anyone who blames these women is making excuses for Tiger's abhorrent behaviour.

NO WAY....they BOTH made the decision to break vows. In God's eyes...a sin is a sin. What if every single person said, "Well, it doesn't matter...it wasn't me that took the vows...who cares if I have a hand in helping to break them?"

AND about the women "not knowing" he was married. That is nuts. I dont care if you dont watch golf. If you watch the news, go to the grocery store, you have heard about Tiger Woods. His wedding was world wide known & THEY were on covers of magazines when their first child was born. If they knew he was Tiger Woods, they knew the complete package--he is married and worth 100's of Millions!

Interesting...I actually understand both points. No, Tiger was the one that took vows, he is the one that broke them, not the women...they didn't make any. It may be a sin in God's eyes, but not everyone lives their lives according to the gospel...not everyone even believes in God, for that matter. Regardless to what our own religious believes and values are, not everyone else in this world believes the same thing or places the same value on those beliefs.

Do I think these other women were too blame as well? You betcha I do. I think that 'married guys should not be pursued' is just sort of an unwritten rule. I can't say that they knew for certain he was married--I can easily see how someone wouldn't know that--but you can dang sure bet they knew who he was! I fully believe they were in it thinking they would get something out of it in the end and I think it speaks volumes about their character that they are so willing to step forward and openly flaunt their "loose" lifestyle. (I tend to think of that as being something one should be ashamed to admit...not something to brag about.) I can see why his wife would be upset with them, but at the same time, why would it matter to them? What's she to them? Nothing.

Having said that, I don't think this aspect is one that has a "right" or "wrong" answer. There is no "answer", only differing opinions and people's opinions and how they view things are just that...opinions, not facts that can be declared as right or wrong. The arguments being made here all boil down to what one's religious and morals beliefs are...and I don't think that declaring ones believe's (or lack) there of is something any of use have the right to judge.

I wasn't judging anyone...I was saying is that I, personally, feel that each person involved is at fault in one way or another. I brought God into it without even thinking about it because this is how I live my life....so it's tough for me to keep religion out of it.

In the end, I am sad for Tiger's family....I even feel sad for Tiger. I know, GASP! :eek: Yes, he made these decisions, but I can't help myself...my heart goes out for others that are hurting, whether it's self-inflicted or not. :rolleyes: It's an AWFUL thing that he has done and he has to now live with the mess that he created.

You sound like me, and ALL my friends think I am nuts. But, I am very compassionate & live by God's Word. They are all wrong. AND it isnt a secret that Tiger has been all out of sorts since his Dad died. I know that isnt an excuse, but the guy could really be hurting. Instead of someone allowing him to heal and deal with what he has done, every channel is making jokes about him. How is that supposed to help a father?
