What a wonderful idea. It is so easy to take things for granted. I am thankful for my faith. Without it, it would be impossible to keep going sometimes. I am very thankful for my family. I am thankful for my husband's job in this struggling economy and our home. I am also thankful for my furbabies. They definitely make my life much brighter. |
I'm grateful that I am able to be on this site because I have my wonderful babies. :) I'm grateful that we been able to weather this economic nightmare and still have our family and home. I'm grateful that although this year has taken it toll but we have persevered and come out stronger and better. :) |
Thank you, Renee, for starting this thread I have so much to be greatful for I don't know where to begin. It is so easy for me to get distracted and focus on the few things that are wrong to lose sight of the many blessings that I have. Here are a few things that I am greatful for 1) a loving Heavenly Father who loves me anyway 2) my earthly family 3) my improving health 4) my furbabies 5) my precious YT family 6) for the doctors who are helping me with my pain issues 7) for a wonderful vet (Dr. Amy) who takes care of my furbabies 8) for a feeling of contentment. Shoot, I could go on and on and on..... maybe I'll add more to the list later. But for now, I am warm and have breakfast in my belly. My furbabies are sleeping around me and I am at peace. |

Everyday I find something to be thankful for. Whether it is that I can buy groceries or that the rain is falling. Sometimes it seems that it's all bad but if we refocus...there is goodness in every day. |
I do agree that no matter what situation your life is in at any given time, there is always something to be thankful for. Here are a few of mine; 1 ~ As much as I complain about having to go to work, I am thankful to have my job. 2 ~ I am thankful for my children & also to be one the 12 children my parents had. Even with as many of us as there are, most all of us are willing & able to gather together at Christmas time.........even if we do have to rent a hall to fit us all in.:) 3 ~ I am so thankful that my yorkie:aimeeyork dream came true and that my hubby lets me continue that dream with each new furbaby we add. :D 4 ~ I am thankful that I found this website a little over 2 years ago and for all of the close friends I have made here. It is amazing how these sweet little dogs can bring us all together even though we live far apart. 5 ~ And last but not least & specifically for 2009, I am thankful that Renee (rbelland) found YT, that she lives here in Nebraska, and that we met and became such good friends. It is so awesome to have someone so close that shares the passion I have for our yorkie babies! Hugs Renee :love-hug3, for being you and for being my friend. |

Though its been a hard year in alot of ways there is still much to be thankful for. My job, especially getting back on nights. My moms condition is finally balanced and she's getting the treatment she needs when we could have so easily lost her this time last year. My family who have finally pulled together. Finding Rosie who turned out to be the perfect compliment to Alfies personality. Finding a new more possitive me. Finally getting the nerve to get the internet and finding Yorkie talk and all the new friends on here. |
I am thankful for God. Without him I wouldn't be here. I'm thankful for my family. I'm so thankful for the people that I have met in the last few months who help me feed my family, find ways to help me with my bills, and can always seem to find someone who can help me out of any crisis. I am thankful for prayer. I am thankful for my families and my health. |
I am grateful for this thread, and an opportunity to count my blessings. Does that count? :D I am grateful to: 1) THOR, who came into my life this year. My sweet, crazy little dog who loves me no matter what. He never fails to crack me up with his little doggie perspective on life. Cats = terrifying! Bark for you life! Muddy grass = free spa day! 2) Living in SF, where it's still sunny and sixty most days, even in November. 3) Despite the horrible economy, my company is doing really well. I'm on a very interesting project, the client is actually nice, I'm learning tons, I have a great team, and we should get good bonuses this year. 4) This is silly, but I got an iPod a few weeks ago, and I am insanely in love with it. My job pays for it, so I can spend ridiculous amounts of time looking for dumb little apps. 5) 30 Rock - no matter how stressed I get, I can count on laughing for 30 minutes every week. 6) Another nerdy work one - the Microsoft app OneNote. I am learning so much on this project and FORGETTING so much. This app is terrific for keeping all kinds of miscellaneous notes and thoughts. 7) The people who schedule yorkie meets, get vendors to come, provide free food, and generally go out of their way so that the rest of us can have a good time. 8) The dogs I walk at my rescue, who never fail to delight, entertain, educate, and exercise me. 9) My smart, funny, kind friends. 10) Pedicurists. Anyone who handles feet all day without throwing up is a hero. (eleventy) All the great people on this site, of course. :) |
One more.... The people at Thor's new doggy daycare, who treat him so well, and are teaching him how to get along with other dogs. |
Thanks for all the awesome replies!!!! I have read through all the posts and it just reminds me we all have so much to be thankful for:)!!! No mater the struggle in life with HOPE, FAITH, and LOVE we can do anything!!!! What a feeling!!!! |
Thank you so much for posting this thread. I had a kind of hard year this year(though not as hard as some others), and actually said to myself "What do I have to be thankful for?" then quickly regretted it. I have so much to be grateful for it is overwhelming. I am so grateful for: - The beautiful house we live in. We lost our first home, then moved into a rental house that was nice but inconvenient, and we now live in this home that is truly *home*. I am so grateful that my mom stopped to check it out, despite my dissaprovel. :p she can list it under "Thigs mom was right about" for sure! - My wonderful cat, Olivia. She has brought so much joy into my life. It is insane to me to think that I will be in my 30's and probably still have her in my life. I look forward to our life together. - My dog, Tucker. While he is my mom's dog, and we don't always see eye-to-eye on everything (:p), I love him and he loves me. and he makes me so happy. - My parents. They are the most supportive parents I could have ever asked for. They bend over backwords to make it so that I will be able to accomplish everything that I want in life. They have very little but give everything. Words cannot express how much I love them. I'm also grateful that they love each other so much. I know many people do not have the opportunity to have parents who love each other. - My brother, Kevin. There are times we want to smack each other, but at the end of the day he's my brother and one of my best friends. - My extended family. I have a very large, VERY close-knit family. I am so glad we live close together. They are the best family in the world. - My best friends, Jess and Emily. We have been best friends for over 9 years, so we have litterally grown up together. I don't even refer to them as best friends, they are my sisters. I would give anything for them, and they me. - My faith. All that I am today I owe to my church and my church family. - My job. I babysit some kids after school during the week (and on odd days when their parents want to have a date night). I worked at Wendy's for a year, and almost cried every day because of how horrible it was. All of my friends have really bad jobs at local food places, and all they can do is complain about their jobs. I LOVE mine, and I make enough money to have fun and not feel like I'm stretching my parents' wallets thin. - My school. I realized how much I love my school. I love the students, I love the administration, I love the teachers. I just love my school. - Theatre. Theatre brings me so much joy in my life I can't even explain it. I'm grateful for that odd time that I went to see a Broadway show I had no interest in seeing, because it changed my life completely. - and finally, my country. I am so so grateful to have been born in America. I, like many others, take it for granted sometimes. I complain about the government and stupid laws and what have you, and then I remember that if it weren't for the government and stupid laws, I wouldn't be allowed to say such things. and I'm grateful that we have men and women who are brave enough to stand for everything we believe in. I love my country. |
Also, one more thing that is most recent. I am so exceedingly grateful for the doctors who take care of my mom. I am grateful at the possibility that they have found what is wrong with her, and that they can treat it if they are correct. |
I am so thankful for so much, I am one blessed girl!!! ~ my wonderful mother ~ my amazing, extremely supportive boyfriend ~ lilly, my little monkey ~ my family ~ having a roof over my head and food on my table ~ being able to work from home and do what I love! ~ my life... period. I always try to look at the good in life instead of let the bad get me down. Letting the bad get you down isn't going to change a thing, it's having hope and being thankful every day that makes everything alright. |
