I work with breast cancer patients on the day of their surgery. I also had 2 abnormal mammograms and ovarian cancer this past year. I'm here to also support you. :) Please, feel free to PM me and ask me a MILLION questions about anything that you might not understand from your appointment.

Cysts are very common in women in their 30's~so hang in there!

Thanks everyone. The only problem that I am having is that I am really really sore from the mammogram. I didn't realize that it would be that sore, but they had to take additional views of the lump and because I have implants.

Do you know what type of mammos that you had done? Were they digital images? Digital are the best type to have done when you are young with dense breast tissue. They have because the imaging of choice in the past 2 years or so because the pictures are much more clear, they come up on a computer screen instead of an xray board and the rad can zoom in and magnify the different areas that might be of concern. In the past, they used a magnifying glass and their eyes to inspect the xray. Also, many woman that have implants are given an MRI instead of a mammo. Many times it requires special permission from your insurer to have this test done because of the expense AND with you being so young. Don't be too concerned about your implants there are many women that have them and they are use to dealing with this issue. ;)

I guess it was a regular mammogram, but the image came up quickly on a computer screen and she could change the back ground color. I have no clue, but it wasn't an MRI. I am just waiting to see what the surgeon wants to do tomorrow. In a way, I am hoping she takes it out. It does cause some pain.

Thanks for the encouragement. The worst part is that I just got a call from my doctor. My liver test has been off the charts and now they want to do an ultrasound. Talk about falling apart at one time!

I'm sorry to hear about your liver results and that they are adding to your stress. I know it seems like when it rains - it pours... and it ususally does but then there's a rainbow :p so please just try to stay upbeat - it really will help you through this. You're still in my prayers. :hug:

Oh, please make sure your Dr understands that the implant/s are giving you discomfort - it's important that he/she realizes that this is an issue.

The implants are not giving me discomfort, it's from the test yesterday. They have to do a lot more than a regular mammogram when you have implants. The muscles in my armpit hurt more than anything. I guess it's where they were trying to look at the lymph nodes there. I will know more tomorrow and will update everyone.

Thanks everyone. I had my liver ultrasound done yesterday but won't have the results until next week. I meet with the surgen this morning around 10. I will update everyone after the appointment.

Okay, just got back from the surgeon. She is going to drain the cyst on 12/11 and then also removed a clogged milk duct. She is going to test both of them for cancer, but said she thinks there is nothing to worry about.

Biopsy today
 
Well, today is the day for the biopsy. I'm nervous and scared at the same time. The doctor has given me a relaxer to help with the anxiety. I will let you guys know what the results are as soon as I get them. Thanks again for all the kind words and encouragement.
