My son lost 100 lbs-before &after pics 2 Attachment(s) I'm just so proud of my 20 year old son I had to share. He decided in January that he was sick of being fat. He went to the doctor for some a checkup and lab work and the doctor pretty much scared him straight-his liver functions were out of whack, cholesterol bad, glucose borderline type 2 diabetic. He pretty much told him if he didn't start eating healthy, he would die young. The best part is that Ben has done this without meds or surgery...just the good old fashioned way of eating healthy and excercising. He's been on a modified low carb diet because of the diabetes risk. He wants to lose about 15-20 more pounds. He has the advantage of a young male metabolism..so it's amazing! Here's the pics: |
Oh my gosh!! He looks like a completely different person! He looks great! I wish I had that willpower! |
Whoo Hoo!! congrats! he looks wonderful. keep it up! |
Congratulations to your son!!!! Knowing what needed to be done and he did it....what an amazing young man he is. |
Wow that's wonderful, what a difference this will make in his life. Learning to eat healthy at a young age is such a great advantage, and I hope your son can inspire other teens to do the same! Bet your really proud of him! |
Oh wow! You both have plenty to be proud of! How wonderful for your son! |
Tell 'Studley' that I personally am very proud of him ! What a big accomplishment and keep up the good work ! I know he must be so proud to - and mom - way to go !!! With your encouragement I'm sure he had a great support system |
Thanks! Yes I am so proud of him. He is one of those people that just digs in and does whatever it takes. He's an amazing young man for his age. He works full time as a manager at Arby's and is a full time student. Hard enough to concentrate on getting your body healthy, but to do all he does to boot. AND..has his own apartment. He decided to get his own place in March and I was really scared it would be harder for him without mom helping him make food choices, but he's really proved me wrong. |
OMG that is just awesome... tell him congrats, he looks soooo handsome..and soooooooooooooooo thin.. I dont think he has to loose 1 more pound, he looks fantastic....... by the way your home is beautiful :D:D |
Wow he looks amazing!! I hope he is so proud of himself!! Congrats!!! |
2 Attachment(s) Big huge congratulations to Ben. Ok guess i will share what I have been up to. I am over 55 years and decided also at the beginning of this year I am tired of being fat. I have now lost 60 lbs, 40 more to go. No diet, no surgery stuff, plain ol' healthy sensible eating choices. i have my treats but in moderation. I don't want junk food anymore ie chips, sodas that sort of stuff. lots of fresh cooked vegetables at dinner seasoning with spices and herbs, small portion of meat, often fish, small amt of carb either potatoe, rice that sort of thing. I eat breakfast, oatmeal with blueberries usually. Small lunch. I only have show pictures of me in December 08 but I can post that one. The next was taken after I lost about 50 lbs. It never cost me a thing to do it and grocery/food bills are much lower. I also stay out of fast food places. I pack a lunch to take with me on days I am working. |
Your Ben looks awesome!!....He must feel fantastic!!...The difference not only shows on him physically but the look on his face says it all. He looks so much more full of life in the after!....Way to go Ben!!!! Lorraine, congratulations for doing this for yourself!...You have to fell so great and so proud you stuck with it and did what you set out to do!...You go girl, you too look so happy in your after shot! |
Well done Ben and Lorraine! Ben looks fantastic! What an acheivement. He's an inspiration to all young people to eat healthy and exercise. Well done to you too, Lorraine, you look absolutely amazing xxx |
What an accomplishment. You must be so proud and he looks very handsome. I admire such determination. |
Thanks. i can't tell you how much better I feel, how much easier it is to get stuff done, how much more energy I have. Clothes shopping is fun now and much nicer stuff is available. My arthritis is not as bad. Apparently certain things can be a problem to aggravate arthritis. I know this is not just a temporary change of eating habits, it is a lifetime choice and I would rather feel better as a result. I also am convinced it was not my metabolism, it was me eating the wrong things too high a calorie diet for my normal everyday activity. Fat, sugar and salt are the main flavourings in processed food, fast food and junk food. I feel much more satisfied eating what I do, don't feel hungry all the time from empty calories I also don't eat processed foods, those can be a corker. And I read labels. It is amazing what is added to things such as tinned soups, etc. I felt 15 years older than I am, now I feel 15 years younger. |
