Fires too close for comfort

Posting picture of the smoke coming over the mountain directly south of us.
The latest report is this fire is moving towards the community near by us, They are on alert. Latest word was the fire fighters have moved into that community. Please pray that this fire doesn't keep moving. I hope I did the pictures okay, I forgot how to resize :(

Gosh, Patti! This is so scary! I'm praying that you and Jack and the babies are safe from the fire! I have been watching the news on that site you sent me. If anyone would like to see live news on the fire, here is the link:

I'm praying for you! Go turn on your sprinklers and let them run! Soak it up good! Be ready to leave if you have to! Cover your nose and mouth when you go outside so you don't breath in that smoke! Hugs to you! Love you!

You have my prayers. I hope you & your family will be alright. We had the San Gabriel fires & we smelled smoke & ash was falling. The skyline right now is terrible...all smoke.

Fires are one thing I don't miss about CA. We had our fill last year, we are very happy we moved here to NC.

oh man Patti - do you have an emergency plan in place ? I know with Jack it would be really hard for you to have to run but please stay safe !! Those fires would scare me spitless.....

How is it today ? Do they have it under control yet ?

My goodness these fires are horrible. I can see two of them from where we are. My mom's house in Monrovia was covered with the ash! My sister lives in Glendora and you can barely breath there. She is pregnant so I told her if she needed to she could come over here til it clears out. The last I heard the fires should be stopped by tomorrow... But we shall see:..

I hate hate HATE fire season. The fires always come way close up to our house. We haven't ever been evacutated but it gets pretty intense. Your in our prayers.

Our prayers are with all of those affected and threatend by these fires! We survived a horrible wildfire several years ago, I think fire is one of the worst fears! Take care and don't waste time in evacuating! Get out ahead of time, it's the best tactic to take.

family friend is firefighter and he's fighting this fire. He just texted us and said that 2 have died:(

I live in Covina and our pool has been covered with ashes last few days

Our prayers go out to many that are in the path of this fire. It is really frightening, we are in the mountains above the Station Fire that is out of control, they did a mandatory evacuation of that community that is below us. Praying things get better, have prepared ourselves here the best we can. It may become neccessary for us to evacuate too.

The fire is getting real close to Mount Wilson Towers, they are saying it would be a disaster to communications, the towers are there for the local tv stations out of Los Angles and they are in danger. Please pray this doesn't happen.
I am praying the electric don't go off cause that would cause us not to have any water in our community.

Our computer is coming off of a satelite on top of one of the mountains near the fire, if it is affected we won't be able to get back on line.

One can never be prepared for a fire no matter how hard one trys.

The smoke is so bad, our fire fighters really put there lives on the line fighting fires, please pray for them and the pilots doing there drops and flying into these fires in doing so.

Gosh, Patti! I know you told me not to worry, but how can I not? I am praying for you and Jack, and of course, all others in the paths of the fire, the firefighters, the families of the firefighters that died, and praying this fire can be contained. They say there is nothing with this fire that has been predictable and it is fury driven. It is going in three directions...one of the directions towards you...and only 10 miles from you! Hugs to you! I am thinking of you nonstop and praying. I will pray for God to give you strength, because I know how tired you are, but yet, you don't dare to go to sleep. Hugs to you, dear friend!

Please everyone...pray for Patti, Jack and the babies safety!

l was at petsmart yesterday and a customer said it was so bad in her area she took her dog and left. She said she was going back home later that night. My thoughts and prayers goes out to the hurt and everyone involved.

I have been thinking about you and your family all evening. Again, our prayers for all involved in this fight!
Please, don't wait too long to leave if it's coming your way. My husband was a firefighter and as I said before, we survived a bad one ourselves. If that thing is any closer than 10 miles or so, pack up your "irreplaceables" and leave immediately. God speed:exclaim:

You are in our prayers, as are all of the firemen,people and pets in the area. I hope you can stay in your home and if you have to evacuate that everything goes smoothly. You are right that you can never be too prepared for this kind of thing.

Everyone, let's all pray for Patti & Jack & the girls & everyone involed in this devastating fire. The fire has doubled in size over night & 2 firefighters have lost their lives.

Here's some pics I took w/my phone driving home last night.

Those fires look so scary. It is so sad that two brave firefighters lost their lives. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Cindy...I talked to Patti yesterday and today and they are still okay, other than very heavy smoke in their area. Today Patti said they are still in danger, but she's so tired of the lack of media coverage, that she's just going to quit watching the news. She will be able to see the flames if it starts getting closer and will then know to leave. They may leave anyway if the air quality doesn't improve. For now they are safe and staying inside.

omg:eek: Patti...that is truly scary...please don't stay if they say it's coming your way...take the babies and leave nothing is worth your lives....I remember last year here how many didn't leave when hurricane ike was coming and how tragic it was...
