Famous people?? Just curious?? You know the whole 6 degrees of seperation thing.. Have any of you ever met anyone famous? If so who and where? Related to anyone famous? I am always reading celebrity gossip magazines ( its my guilty pleasure :D ) and I wonder where the "normal" part of the family is LoL I've never met anyone famous really, but my mom used to go to a bar in Terre Haute, IN that was owned by Larry Birds brother and he used to come in a lot I guess... I'm from Indiana so not much goes on there LoL I did recently meet some comedians that I have seen on TV before.. Steve Byrne and Sebastian Maniscalco and Sam Tripoli.. they were hilarious.. ok , i will shut up... Your turn :D |
Well I am also guilty of celebrity news. :p I love reading all the latest gossip, it really is so silly but it's innocent fun right? :p While vacationing in New York during fashion week where lots of stars are known to be, my girlfriend and I were looking very hard to see some stars. Well we had just about given up all hope and were sitting on some steps outside of a building and out walks Robert Deniro. He tells us hello and to have a good evening. That was pretty cool. Also on that trip we went to the Regis & Kelly show and met them. And while having breakfast Sandra Bullock walked right past the window. Like I say it is so silly, but cheap entertainment. My hubby thinks it is really ridicoulous.LOL:p |
I was in the Exorcist movie back in the '70's...in one of the Jaws movies...Sandra Bullock went to my high school, along with Warren Beatty, Shirley MacLaine and Forrest Tucker. Grew up in the DC area...worked for a news magazine and got to meet alot of celebrities...great fun. |
Well, I've got a few 6 degrees of sep things going on. My fave is one of my customers from my shop is the brother to Ted Elliot, who is one of the two main writers of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (also Shrek 1, National Treasure 1 and 2), which if anyone knows me, I love me some Johnny Depp! So that's 1, 2, 3 degrees of sep from Johnny whoo hoo! Also, I had a friend who used to be a high fashion model, and is friends with Leo diCaprio. that's 2 degrees. and she is friends with Gisele when she was dating Leo, also 2 degrees. I met Leo at his 25th bday party at the El Rey back in 1999 or 2000 I forget (I wasn't even 21 yet tee hee). So maybe that could be one degree, but I'm sure he would never remember who I was. He was pretty drunk and his hat was all sideways before it was the "cool" way to wear your hat. LOL I worked on a Mercedes commercial for the relaunch of the SL convert directed by Michael Bay (Transformers director). He yelled at me for fussing over the main actress's dress. Does that count as first degree? LOL He's the biggest a** EVER!!!!! and his movies suck! My bff's bf is friend's with Morrissey. nuff said.:p Me personally, I know no one. :( |

I love love love Reno 911... a couple of my friends dressed up as the whole Reno 911 cast for last halloween.. the guy dressed at Lt Dangle had the look down to a T LoL daisy dukes and everything |
I went to college with David Letterman, and since he knows practically everyone, I can relate lots of people through him. I also meant Lucille Ball, Henry Fonda, and Jack Lemon, I know the guy who was a pilot for Air Force One, so through him, I can even go back to the . . . well I'll just say a president took a trip to China, and that makes me 3 degrees from Mao Zedong. I just realized all the famous people I know are dead, except David. My kids have met a lot of people, but I've never heard of them. :D |

Lucille Ball was really disappointing to meet, I was a huge fan, and I'll just say, she was disappointing. Henry Fonda had so much class, and Jack Lemon in person was much better looking than I ever thought he was in the movies, he was also a lot funnier. |
I like the guy that wears hot pants and is on skates all the time. I forget his name, but in the movie he actually was who he said he was. On a side note, I was in jail for a few hours, they really do talk like they do on Reno 911. I have a ring that is a "trinity" ring, and well, I've gained some weight since I first got it, and when they told me to take it off, it was HARD! Then they go. is it one ring, or three rings? No if it's 3 rings then they are gonna look for three separate rings, it's one ring b/c it's all connected, then another guy goes, no it's three sep rings but they are intertwined. I was sooooo close to asking them if they watch Reno 911. Heck I was in trouble already, what were they gonna do, charge me for my free speech?:rolleyes::rolleyes: K whatever everyone should go to jail at least once. LOL :p |

Omgosh, I was thinking about posting something like this the other day... I guess great minds think alike :D Well, the ones I've met aren't that impressive.. lol. When I was 16 I became obsessed with the band Hanson since they live in Oklahoma, I had lots of opportunities to meet them... I think I've met them 3 or 4 times. I have also met Garth Brooks who is from my hometown. I was around 10 yrs old and we saw him standing in front of his mom's house unloading stuff from the car so we stopped to say hi :) I have also met most of the gymnasts from the 2000 olympics were they won first place. They were called the "Magnificent Seven". Oh, and my husband knows Curtis Loughton of the Atlanta Falcons and I have a cousin who is kinda sorta famous. He is the drummer/songwriter for the band Hinder. So far their biggest hit was a song called "lips of an angel". |

I have also met several "famous" gymnasts. :) Let's see Tommy Lee and Ludacris were on my floor at work last year filming something for their reality show. Some coworkers and I passed Will Ferrell on the way out of our building when we were coming back up from a coffee break. My coworkers got pictures of both - I don't think I'm as starstruck as they are (funny since I love celebrity gossip mags and websites to a fault!)...I'm sure I would be for the *right* celeb. So basically, I don't actually KNOW anyone famous that I can think of... |

Yeah, I remember I wasn't very happy when Taylor got married. LOL. He has like a gazillion kids now... I lost track. One of my best friends lives in Tulsa and sees them all the time. My husband was stationed at Tinker too. He was medically discharged from the Air Force in August 2007. When were you there? |

I met the Late great George Burns a year or so before he died. We were in a hotel elevator when he stepped in with his body gaurd. The guy was a riot and totally a sweetheart. I was barely old enough to know who he was but now I am honored to have met him. I also this June met Robyn Leach from Life Styles of the Rich and famous and lets just say he has plumped up and slid down the hill a bit! |
