LOL Edward Scissorhands! Great movie, totally makes me cry at the end! That was when i fell for him too! I was too young for 21 jumpstreet though, but he seemed to hate playing that role anyway!

BTW Uni's been humping stuff a lot lately. We rolled up a fleece Pirates blanket for her that has Johnny's face all big on it. i told her to hump Johnny for me.:D :sidesplt:

Star Magazine article -- nothing new, found it on the web:

Quote:

Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp have been together for about 11 years, all this while often prompting talk of upcoming nuptials. This is Hollywood’s most private couple, though, so chances are that, even if they did get married, the media would not know. Which is why this recent interview with Paradis, cited by OK! Magazine on her life with Johnny Depp is not something one would come to expect. As also noted above, this is one of the most discrete couples in showbiz, the two stars always making a point of doing public appearances only when so stipulated in contracts. The rest of the time, they live outside the US, together with their two children, and manage to keep their names out of the headlines. Their relationship, Vanessa now explains, is not one based on love alone, but also on mutual respect and understanding.

“I’d wanted to be a mother for a long time, but with him I couldn’t avoid it. He was, and still is, the love of my life,” the 37-year-old star says, in what is perhaps a first interview of this kind. “There is a lot of friendship between us, respect and admiration. We’ve understood that if we want it to carry on working, it’s essential to give each other space. You don’t eat the same food every day, you don’t read the same book or listen to the same record over and over again. You have to discover things for yourself,” Vanessa goes on to say about her longtime relationship with Depp.

She avoids the topic of marriage, perhaps because many have already insisted too much on it. What she would willingly talk about, though, is what exactly it is that makes Johnny her ideal partner. “I could go on and on about all the things I admire in him. I like watching him when he’s thinking, when he’s talking with people, I like seeing how he handles situations. I admire him as an actor, as a father, as a man. Above all, I admire the person he is. He’s fantastic,” the actress and singer goes on to say.

For those of you wondering how come Depp and Paradis manage to keep their personal life out of the tabloids, the answer is simple, as the actor himself revealed a while back: a private island to which they retire whenever they have some time off their individual projects.

I posted this in another thread, but I guess it fits here too. I made a mini mad hatter top hat that I am going to wear at the premiere. I put it on Uni while she was sleeping hee hee.

ellaYORKIE 02-14-2010 09:45 PM

I've never posted her so i'll just give my two cents now. I wasn't much for the pirates movies. They just didn't appeal to me. I have to say Edward Scissorhands was my favorite Johnny Depp movie, ever. I am very stoked for Alice In Wonderland though.=]

Great picture of Uni with the hat! Beautiful work on the hat!

I wish I lived closer to you -- I would beg you to teach me to sew properly. You are so talented.

BTW, I was looking through really old picture threads and I came across one with your pictures of Uni pretending to sleep in your extra large purses. You wrote that she does this hoping you will take her wherever you go. Great pictures -- she really is beautiful and such a character.

What an awesome hat! And Uni wears it well...you should make her a small size version so she can be a Mad Hatter fanatic like Mommy.:D

Excellent work, really.

I love your hat! How ever did you find the materials to replicate it? I know it's not at the local fabric store. You must special order them. Right? Do you work on movies? I can't remember? But you should!!! So much talent!!! Go girl!

capt_noonie 02-15-2010 04:43 PM

Thanks everyone! My ultimate goal is to work in movies. Anyone out there hear me? Hire me! LOL I'm working on a full size one for the guys now. People on ebay are asking me. :D

The materials... the millinery stuff I order online, or if I"m in LA there is a supply store there. The fabrics, I use upholstery fabrics, thicker and looks "richer", I don't use apparel fabrics, they tend to look cheapy-er.

Sharly4 02-15-2010 09:08 PM

You're work is amazing! If I knew anyone I would so recommend you! How would you break into the business anyways? Or is it just so jam packed you can't get in? Like the movie to actor ratio?

capt_noonie 02-16-2010 08:52 PM

If you know someone it's really not that hard. I worked on a Mercedes commercial before, and my friend from school was hired by the main wardrobe/stylist. They needed another person and she just called me and the next three days I had a job. I lost contact with her, but she is more of a stylist, and I want to do actual costume design, not just shopping and dressing people.

Anyway, I"m having fun with what I'm doing now. I do the stuff I like, and don't do the stuff I don't. :)

Agreed :D

Wow, that hat is FABULOUS and what a great model.

capt_noonie 02-16-2010 09:07 PM

Thank you! Uni says thank you too!

As for the Pirates movies... I loved part 1, 2 was great for the scenery (cannibal island, isla cruces) but I did NOT like part 3. My lil bro and I got in a big debate about how when movie trilogies come out, and part 2 and 3 are in the works, part 2 is always the sorrier one bc it's supposed to be a cliff hanger to go into part 3 (like the Matrix trilogy). However, I thought part 3 was soooo horrible, I liked 2 much better. I loved Bill Nighy as Davy Jones, he's great!

Sharly4 02-16-2010 09:28 PM

You're so right! But I loved all three! Ohhhh, Johnny take me away! I liked the part where he lost his brain! Too funny!

TwoforFun 02-16-2010 09:31 PM

I don't think part 3 was bad I just think the other two outranked it by a s*** load.
Mentioning Alice in Wonderland made me remember Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

capt_noonie 02-16-2010 09:46 PM

Don't get me wrong, I still watched 2 and 3 at the midnight showing! :D P3 I literally watched 3 times at the theaters bc I did not understand what the heck they were doing! But as far as box office $$$, yes 2 and 3 made Disney lots more money than part 1. Part 1 was a surprise hit. Truth be told, I didn't even see part one til it was out on DVD!

I LOVE Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! The cocoa beans! LOL

If you guys want to see Johnny and Tim at their indie best, it was "Ed Wood" one of my FAVE movies EVER! It was made in 1995 (?) awesome and hilarious movie. Lots of scenes are shot in downtown LA and Hollywood. I've been where they've been. *sigh* I've been thinking of doing a cosplay of Johnny as Ed Wood, as himself in drag, but since I am a girl, I would be dressed up as a guy, dressed up as a girl, but with a goatee. My lil bro said no one would get it, except for me. I think he's right. :( It would be so funny if more people would get it.

I had a hard time with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because I love Gene Wilder so much in the original. Also, it is my least favorite example of Burton's work (his film, right?). I liked the addition of the scenes with Wonka's father, but I wasn't blown away by anything involving the factory. The Oompa Loompa left me cold too.

I recently watched Ed Wood again and laughed myself silly. First time I have seen it since the original release and I had forgotten about Wood's cross dressing. Seeing Captain Jack Sparrow/Sweeney Todd in angora is so funny. Martin Landau is spectacular as Bella.

Were those scruffy Yorkies with the Chihuahuas when Wood goes to check on Bella at his home?

Sharly4 02-17-2010 06:54 AM

Ooooo, you know what I saw not too long ago! Was a movie with Johnny and a girl that had some mental problem. Johnny was eccentric doing scenes from old movies. He was so cute! I just can't remember the name Benny and Joon? Maybe?? IDK!

I got in a debate with my friends about this too. I didn't like the original, Gene Wilder was just TOO creepy for me. But I DID like him in Young Frankenstein :D I love Mel Brooks. I loved the *new* oompa, which was one guy (Deep Roy), the old oompas creeped me out. Well I was a kid back then.

I LOVED Martin as Bella. "F*** Karloff!" LOL

Young Frankenstein, I almost have that movie memorized line for line. Marty Feldman is a riot! "Abby Normal" I agree about Mel Brooks.

Gene Wilder and the original Oompa Loompas were definitely creepy -- that is what appealed to me. They gave me nightmares! LOL! Depp's Wonka was definitely more approachable, not menacing.
