Finding a good breeder is hard work. We all know puppy mills are bad and nobody wants a dog from people like that. But its hard to say all byb are bad and all reputable breeders are good. I don't hate all byb their are plenty that do it for the wrong reason. But not all are bad. Who says they cant breed their dog. If their dogs are health been tested for health problems and a good representation of the breed. And they know the risks and responsibility of breeding their dogs. i think those byb are great their puppies usually get more socialization and are more cared for than a breeder than has over 20 dogs not saying they cant but its impossible for you to show 20 dogs the same amount of attention as 2-6 dogs. but i think ist better than a breeder to be honest. Just my opinion. I myself am not able to have kids due to endometriosis. And i know the responsibility of breeding dogs and i am a very smart caring person my boyfriend is a doctor that deals with human births so. if my dogs are healthy which they all have been tested i might in to future breed my dogs. Why would people hate me just because i am not a breeder breeder or show my dogs. is it wrong i want to bring a baby in this world if its mine or one of my dogs. And reputable breeders are not all always good. Just because they show their dogs doesn't mean they are way better breeders than others that don't. Are dogs are pets first and foremost. and when we get on the breeding subject it is seem to be lost. Every breeder thinks they are better than another and fights start over" the breeder topic." we jump to conclusions not everyone is bad their are bad people out there that do bad things to dogs but majority of people love their animals and want to do whats right and better a breed but nobody will find perfection. we are not perfect and nether will are animals be. All reputable breeders started from somewhere. with one dog or two and worked their way up. i guess back in the day they were considered byb. I love yorkies and i might find myself one day saying i want to breed yorkies and maybe show them. I probably will be criticized just like barb was. and its understandable because we hear horror stories about all types of breeders and homeless dogs. But we need to not judge someone so fast. i didn't i gave her the benefit of the doubt and now i have the best baby ever. and i know if i ever have a problem with her she will be there that's a good breeder to me. |

To the OP I am glad it worked out for you and I hope you have many years of happiness with your new baby. :D |
congrats on your new puppy! I am glad you went and checked her out for youself and are happy with what you saw. We can always prejudge someone (which I know is bad) but until we see it first hand we really know nothing. Again, congrats and I cant wait to see pics. |
Congratulations on getting your new furbaby. Maltese are so beautiful and sweet. I can't wait to see pictures of your dog. :) |

there is a wealth of information and good for Yorkie owners also. Unless a vet recommends do not use any tear stain product with an antibiotic. |

Angel Eyes is an antibiotic called Tylan and should not be given to puppies. It can damage and disfigure her adult teeth. You can use it after her adult teeth have come in if she doesn't outgrow the tear stains. Please weigh the pros and cons, though. As with any antibiotic, there is a danger of antibiotic resistance. Thriller ... Its Magic Maltese is also a show breeder, but on a much smaller scale. None of them use the term "teacup". It looks like somehow it comes up in the Google link with Chrisman, but not on their website. I am not familiar with Silverbrook. |

Congratulations on your new baby! I'm glad that you didn't miss out on getting this pup. I've read this entire thread, and must say to some posters, that I'm a little discouraged that this thread turned in the direction that it did. Come on guys...it doesn't have to be like this. |

Congrats on your new pup. I don't know if I would be comfortable buying from someone who does it for a living. I don't know though. Hopefully it all turned out well and your pup is healthy, if so thats all that matters then, doesn't matter where or who she came from as long as shes happy, healthy and makes YOU happy. It's your pup and your choice! Although lots of people gave great advice, you get what you pay for. I may of went for top notch breeder with a good pup if my boyfriend was a doctor though :p But I do have to agree with some points the OP made. I am researching and looking into breeding out Bull terrier. I went on a forum about them and all the breeders backlashed with very rude and ignorant comments, just because I am not like them? Or been doing it for 20 years or whatever. Everyone starts somewhere and if your willing to be responsible about it and produce healthy puppies why not, we can't all show dogs, its just not for some people, maybe you want to have pet quality pups. I know I am not going to get into showing, at least not now, but I have found a wonderful bullie breeder who is going to be chatting with me daily teaching me, I am even going to go to a show in a few weeks! :) |

I do believe that breeders need to start somewhere but they should do it under the guidances of someone that knows what they are doing. No need to go into where you got your Maltese we have been there before. OP I'm glad everything worked out with your little girl, Maltese are great dogs. |

thank you very much, but I do take very good care of my dogs. I do also have 4 that stays inside and I also have a very nice and clean house. But also have a big dogs house for others that is very nice. with 2 kids a husband and 4 dogs inside + any puppies we may have for time to time, I chose not to have any others in the house. For as the controversy, I not sure why there has been so much going on this week. I never post a mean post to anyone, but it seems that later when I post there is someone that thinks I am speaking to them, we I am not and has to get ugly about was I say. I should just set back and not say anything but even when I try to take up for myself, that gets take wrong too, and that's when I get mad. Just tell the truth. And I have not been on MT in Months it was just to much trouble going from YT to MT so I staied on here. I don't think you do know where I go my dogs, they came from different breeders. I have not tried to force beliefs on anyone, all I have every said is all breeders is not bad people and not to judge with out seeing them for your self. I am not sure why you or anyone find that wrong. I am not the mad person you have made me out to be. I take very good care of my dogs. |
I wanted to take time to say I am sorry. I feel that what I posted was taken the wrong way and later got mad and started looked for something to for some to though back. That was wrong, I do think that we all need to understand that when people on here make a post, sometimes they are not talking straight to us. And when someone types you can hear the tone that you would if it was been spoken. When I make a post I never think it sound mean or is a cut down on someone, it just what I am thinking at that time. I am not a bad person or a bad breeder. I love my dogs and take very good care of them. I feel that if seems that every breeder thinks they should down others. I don't feel that way. I don't want to down any breeder with out the facts. (and please don't say I say everyone was downing breeders or me, this is just what I feel over all) I also no there many mad breeders out there I have seen a few. But when I made my post about it was great that the breeder turn out to be a good breeder, I was not downing others on this site, but it is just good to hear a good story about a good breeder, because most of the time it is always bad on this site. It was not post to any one member on this site, and was taken wrong. Again I am sorry, and maybe it is me, it seems that lately everything I say comes out wrong, so maybe it read back as I was being a smart ***. I did not mean for it to read that was. Maybe I have been PMSing. (I hope this post don't come off wrong too) |
