Your second favorite breed, besides Yorkie? If you had to pick, what would be your second favorite breed of dog? It's hard for me to choose... I love sooo many. I think I may have to go with Golden Retrievers. I grew up with one, Daisy, and she was our first family dog so I'll always have a place in my heart for Goldens. I just think they're great dogs. :D |
If I was going to try another breed, it would be a Maltese. But since I have a dachshund and a Jack Russell I guess I should say one of them are my second favorite breed. Hmmmm..... Yorkies will always be my favorite and I probably will never buy another breed. It's yorkies from here on out! :) |
Wow! Thats a tough one!!! I think maybe a border collie so I could teach it to freestyle dance with me LOL! I'd love to be able to do some agility training too!:D |
Hmmm this is tough!!! I would say a Welsh Corgi. |
3 Attachment(s) Easy question to answer for me. There are a lot of dog breeds that I simply adore, BUT my second most favorite dog breed is a Boxer. Here are three reasons why : 1) Kisses sweeter than wine Attachment 283979 2) Good sleeping buddy Attachment 283980 3) Best ever babysitter Attachment 283981 |
I think I would go with Dalmations. I have had them before and I think they are so pretty. Although I don't think I will ever choose anything other than a Yorkie. |

I would have to say, Yellow Lab, then Collie. |
Pomeranians, that's what I wanted and wound up getting yorkies, lol. My grandmother raised a few litters of poms when I was little, so that's where I get that love from. I will have my pom someday--I want a merle one, so it will be awhile since they cost so much!!! |
i love maltese, i think they are my second favorite breed. although i also do love golden retrievers, they are REALLY cute. but i think i prefer small dogs. i care more about personalities though. i think the maltese are very loving, and i've also heard that shih tzus are very laid back and loving. so this is actually a really hard decision!!!! i LOVE DOGS! but i think generally i like the smaller ones. like toy breeds. but i don't know about chihuahuas? they seem kind of scared or hyper all the time? am i wrong?(of course there are always exceptions) |
Boxers:) |
Skye Terrier! |
Mine is a Samoyed since I have one. She is beautiful and absolutely great with the kids. |
Me and my boyfriend have discussed this. We are basically sold on yorkies but, if we were to get a large dog I would want a collie, and if we were to get another small dog and it could not be a yorkie, it would definitely be a westie.. they are cuties too! |
Shih Tzu :D we have had a little puppy for 3 weeks now . She is 10 weeks and precious. This breed was my second choice, the yorkie had had out won the first time , but, the second time we had to have our Shih Tzu . |

If my kids were little I would have another lab in a heartbeat. My Abby was THE best dog ever and my sons best buddy growing up. Now that they are grown up and these little guys have stolen my heart I would love to some day add a Maltese. That way I would have a Yorkie, 2 Morkies and a Maltese to make a nice set :p |
1 Attachment(s) I like small terriers: Jack Russells, Cairns, Westies, Scotties. We have a wonderful Westie named Breezy. |
I love Cocker Spaniels. I've had seven over my lifetime, and they are probably my very favorite dog breed. When I got my Yorkie I was wanting a smaller dog. My yorkie is very smart and learns easily, but he is hard headed and only minds when he wants to. I prefer a dog that minds me totally, and is happy to do what I say, when I say it. :D I also love Rottweilers. They're very smart and easily trained and are very affectionate. |
I think that would prob. be Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. That was my last dog and he was so precious. But i also like big dogs and would like to own one one day when i get a house. I like golden retrievers or german shepards...i dunno i like hairy dogs lol But i would have to do research first before deciding |
Shelties! I have always loved shelties!!! I really like Maltese too but the high maintenance of keeping up with the eye stains will probably keep me from ever owning an all white dog. |
a doberman |
I love Shih tzus....I've never owned one, but my MIL has two, and a friend of mine has one...they are all the most sweetest laid-back dogs and I would like to have one one day. We have a Cane Corso, kaddie, as well as our yorkies and she is the most gentle and obedient dog ever! I would definitely own another one in the future as I've completely fallen in love with the breed  After getting my beautiful girl Twinkle, and now my handsome little Wicket I can confidently say that I will always own yorkies :D I've never known dogs to have such amazing personalities as these guys! xxx xxx |
Border collie |
I have had many breeds in my life past and present, but I think now, after having experienced a really small dog, my second choice would definately be Maltese. Yes the eye stains can be a pain, especially during the teething stages (we are going through it now with Benjamin) but he is worth it! He has such a sweet personality!:D |
Most definitely Golden Retriever. You can really see the difference with them around kids. Their temperament is so pure. They are mush dogs. They sure wouldn't make a watch dog. They would invite a person into the house, lol They are definitely dogs that like to please. Extremely intelligent and very easily trained. Amazing. That's why I had once owned/show/breeder for years. |
1 Attachment(s) Attachment 283989My Jessie has recently passed so for me the border collie |
border collie,we just got one and i love him! |
Westie, Scottie, or Cairn...I am partial to terriers...but Yorkies are the best! |
My MIL had two Shih Tzu and I would have to say they were anything but laid back and calm! (Then again, neither was the atmosphere they were raised in) I wanted a Min Pin when we got Allie, so that might be my second favorite dog, but I also want a Westie... so that's a hard pick. Our next baby (when we get a house) will probably be some type of bulldog, either French or English, because the choice will be my hubby's. I wouldn't mind having a pit bull again. That was the most loving dog (besides Allie of course) that I have ever known! We miss you Butch!! |
