How did your husband propose |
That has to be fake.... kind of corny My husband and I just kind of decided to get married. After the fact, maybe two years later he did get on his knee and propose correctly to me. Mind you, we were already married. We had gone to the JP but he said he wanted to give me a wedding... lol ~ 14 years later... still haven't had the "wedding". |
my hubby made me dinner and then had a path of rose petals to the christmas tree... (it was christmas time;)) and then there was a note that he wrote and then he got down on one knee and asked me!! :D |
He's told me that we were down in Indiana at a park and were on a lookout tower when he asked me. That's one of the things I can't remember after a bonk on the head in 1998. He remembers it, that's what matters. Good thread, can't wait to hear the stories. |

In the evening, balcony, catered meal, roses, wine, Kenny G playing.........during the meal he got down on one knee, presented a ring box.........opened it up and proposed. He is still a romantic........and we are still in love and happy. |
On our favorite beach, he pretended to "find" something behind a large piece of driftwood. He bent down and asked me.... :D |
aww so great, more stories more stories!!!!!!! |
We were in Spain I tricked my good Lady into a cliff walk and down into a cavern which opened into the sea, As I was on one knee proposing a pleasure boat came drifting into the cavern, I was caught redhanded, a massive round of applause came from the boat. So much for my private moment LOL |
He didn't I got pregnant and it was just the next step. |
Hahaha, they jacked up that lady's wheel chair :) (sorry I have been listening to the song she's country and it's stuck in my head where he is like "daddys sweet money done jacked it up) I haven't gotten married because I'm too young but there are some really good stories here.:thumbup: |
We went on a day adventure to Bald Head Island. You ride a ferry to get there. No cars are allowed on the island so you get around in golf carts. We explored the island all day and took a picnic. There is also a lighthouse on the island. (i collect lighthouses) We climbed all the stairs to the very top and he got down on one knee and proposed. What a beautiful view for a perfect moment! We celebrate 11 years of marriage next month. :D |

I actually just got engaged..literally like 2 weeks ago!!! We have been together for 8 years (since I was 15 and he was 17!) In the beginning we would always go to a really beautiful park near my house and just walk around and take pictures on this one particular bench. Well we haven't been there in a while so he suggested we go to celebrate our anniversary. He took me to the same bench and brought out old pictures of us sitting exactly where we were. It was so crazy! And then he got down on one knee and asked me..I'm still in the clouds!!:heart to |
We had dated about a year and my hubby decided a trip was in order to meet his parents in D.C. While we were there and out alone one night he pulled up in front of the capital building that is lit up in it's full beauty and pulled out a ring that I had admired one day when we were out shopping in Chicago where I lived. Memories:) |

Well it was Easter Sunday, and we all gathered at my aunt and uncle's house for a giant family dinner. My husband had asked my mom and dad beforehand if he could have my hand in marriage...although when he asked them..it was April 1st..and my mom and dad thought he was joking HAHA! Anyways, we were all eating..when the doorbell rang. In walks this giant easter bunny...hoping around with a basket of plastic easter eggs. The bunny hopped all over the house and gave everyone an egg...and told everyone to open it. Well...there was my ring...next thing i know i turn to my husband..and he's down on one knee! After all the excitement and barely saying yes thru all my tears, i hear giggling from the bunny's head. I go to take off the bunny's head..and its my BEST friend who i always knew would be my maid of honor. The poor girl..he made her hop everywhere LoL |
I was 21, he was 19 than. I am from Malaysia. He is from India. We met on a flight to Australia. It was a year after we been friends/dating. It was in my parents home, in Malaysia. He came for a visit. It was 1 day before his 20th birthday. I was in the living room ( sitting on the floor ) doing my cross stitch. He laid down on his belly and said " we have known each other for a year now and you are the most beautiful girl ( he still believes and says that ) I have ever seen, my better half any day. Ask me now anything you want to know and I will tell you. I cant think of anyone I want to grow old with. Will you marry me, be my wife and make me the happiest man in the world. I remember clearly saying to him " is this the way you propose " ( i was in shock ) Anyway I put the stuff I was doing down and said " I didnt think I will have a love marriage ( thought I will have an arrange marriage ). You make me very happy and If there is a man I want to spend rest of my life with it better be you" and said to him "YESSSS" . I think it was 2 months or so after that he bought me a simple heart shaped ring. We got married a year later and its been 17 years now. We went on finished our studies I have a degree in Early Childhood he has a PhD. We have 2 girls ages 15 and 13 and a furbaby age 8 months old. Living in Miami for the past 1 yr +. |
We were high school sweethearts....I used to waitress during my senior year of high school, one night after pulling a double shift I called him like I always did when I left work and he would talk to me on my way home so I didn't fall asleep since I had like a 30 min drive home through the mountains...most nights I was going to his house anyway well this night when he asked if I was coming over I told him no I was too sleepy...I would see him in the morning b/c I had the next day off anyway...he begged and pleaded until I finally agreed to go to his house when I got there his mom was there her boyfriend at the time and some friends ( this was not an unusual occurence since his house was like the hangout so I though nothing of it) when I went in I was exhausted he fixed me some leftovers from where they had grilled out and I politely plopped on the couch to eat as I was getting done eating he said " oh baby I picked a little something up for you today" and handed me a popular CD that had just come out and had been really hard to find (I am the geeky type that likes to read the book inside of the cds) so I immediately opened it and began reading about the artist since they were fairly new at the time. In the midst of all of this I totally missed everyone crowding around the couch and him down on one knee so when I finally looked up there he was, he said " the little thing I picked up for you today was not the cd your holding, but a ring for you to wear so that when I am not with you it is a reminder of how much I love you, under 1 condition, that you will agree to be my wife and walk with me side by side for eternity, Will you marry me?" Of course I said yes and it has been almost 5 years!!! Even though I want to kill him at times I honestly love him!! |
These stories are so sweet! :) My husband woke me up on Valentines Day 2 years ago and proposed. So I got engaged in my underwear, lol. He had the ring custom designed and handmade by a local jewelry artist. He wanted to get a ring as unique as I am. No commercially made ring 'fit' who I was. I thought it was so sweet. We had our wedding bands handmade also to match. Married 2 1/2 years now! |
What a neat thread! Here goes my story..... We dated exclusively for 5 years and much of that time was a "long distance" relationship - his work took him away. Anyway, Ronald proposed via TELEGRAM and a dozen roses. How cool is that :). As of July 7, 2009 we have been married for 28 years! |

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! How sweet and exciting for you!! :p  My DH is a lead singer in a band. We were together almost 3 months when he called me up onstage and got down on one knee in front of the whole place. It was our first Valentine's Day together and it was PERFECT!! I just wish I could remember everything he said when he proposed...I was caught up in the moment! We celebrated our 10 year anniversary last month. LOVE HIM TO PIECES!! |
we started dating when I was 15 and the night I graduated from high school, when my class though our hats up in the air, he came over in front of all my classmates and ask if I wanted my graduation gift. So I said yes I guess, and at that time he got on one knee and ask. He told only my baby sister so she had got my mom, dad, grandmama, Granddaddy and aunt over there. So they was all their to see. We had talked about getting married and I alway joked saying he would have to sing to me our song, which was "Keeper of the Stars" As we was leaving my graduation, I stoped and say NO you didn't sing!!! He laugh and I did too, but do you know when we got in his truck that song started playing, and it was not a CD or planned. That was what was cool about the hole thing, and we sat in the truck and he did see to me. We had someone sing that song at our wedding, and the whole time he was saying to me "I could have say it better". LOL This was in May, In July I found out I was pregant, so the date got pushed up about a year or so. LOL Now, come this Sept. it will be 14 years, but we have been together for 18 years. |
congratulations!!!!!! girls, should also tell how long they have been/were married.. |

My story is: when I met my hubby for the first time (19 years ago), I knew that something was between us and knew that somehow our lives would always be intertwined.,little did I realize it would be marriage. lol. We'd somehow just grown closer over the 4 years we knew each other and somehwere along the way we talked about marriage and sorta of joking made a date to marry. Well, one Christmas he gave me hints about my present and I had to search for it. My hint was that it was something that didn't match with anything on my Christmas tree. Well, that was a non-clue as all of my ornaments are differnet. I was about to give up when out of the corner of my eye I saw an ornament that I didn't recognize and there was my ring! That was 15 years ago. We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversay in May. |
I love reading these!! They are so sweet! |
I am really enjoying reading your stories Keep em coming |
