I was cleaning the bathroom today and this thread came to mind......I can't stand it when I'm trying to wipe the toilet or floor and I keep playing "chase the hair around"!...It just refuses to stick to the cleaning cloth!

LOL!!! In the teachers' ladies room in my school (we use their bathrooms during rehearsals for shows), they have a little sign that says "If you sprinkle when you tinkle, please be neat and wipe the seat. :)" hahaha

OK. These are really little, stupid things. But they irk me. :p I started school today, and while I LOVE all of my teachers and classes, 2 of them have these mannerisms that drive me nuts:

1. People who chew gum when they are in front of an audience - whether they're a teacher, a performer, whathaveyou. It's rude. and gross. Spit out the gum for half an hour.

2. People who take their glasses on and off every 30 seconds. I don't know WHY it bothers me, but I find it very distracting. Either leave them on or take them off!

3. People who constantly pick on themselves. we ALL pick on ourselves - it's human nature, and definitely healthy to laugh at yourself! But people who just constantly do it...it gets very old. My friend Connor is in a wheelchair, and he's ALWAYS making jokes about how he can't walk and it's like...dude...we get it. 2 years ago my history teacher, he was a BIG guy, and he CONSTANTLY made fun of himself. It made me feel bad for him at first, but after a very short time it got really old really fast.
and now this year, my history teacher (awesome guy, awesome teacher) is in a wheel chair, and he made fun of himself through the entire class today!! I was like...no one is saying ANYTHING about his handicap, I highly doubt anyone was even really THINKING about it, why did he feel the need to CONSTANTLY bring it up?

I was going to come on here and post the same thing you said in your #2 tonight lol. I have a teacher and she is just standing in front of classs talking and she constantly takes off and puts on her glasses. She isnt switching views from the board or something and back to class, just staring at kids the whole time talking and she does it. Drives me nuts lol.

I used to do that till I got bifocals, I got the progrssive kind without lines and it's great. However I still take mine off alot because now that I wear glasses ALL the time my eyes sometimes burn and/or itch alot for some reason. So off come the glasses while I rub my eyes because it gets to where I can't stand it.

MY pet peeve for today:

People who can't follow rules. I have had no internet or tv since yesterday afternoon between 4:30 and 5pm. The guy from the cable company just left after running a temp cable to my house from the cable box. Why? Because my neighbor decided to plant two trees at the end of his driveway and cut my cable. What ever happened to "call before you dig?" Glad he didn't hit something that could blow up!

If a teacher is chewing gum in class, it is completely unprofessional. And yes, the large print is intentional.

Actually not all toothpastes have fluoride in them, thank goodness. I will not use a toothpaste with fluoride. I use one with tea tree oil.

Here is a interesting article about some of the suspected dangers of fluoride. You can also just google 'dangers of fluoride' and get lots more information. Some dogs can get very sick from drinking water with fluoride in it. I am so thankful that we have a wonderful water well at our home with great tasting water.

What happened to truth in advertising? Years ago they found out it wasn't thick pancake syrup in the commercial oozing over the pancakes it was motor oil.

Yes, I love Dr. Mercola's newsletter. I have been reading it for years. It is an eyeopener. I am like you, I would not get a Swine Flu shot for anything. I won't even get a regular flu shot.

Okay, here I go:

Dog or Cat food in a foil bag. Always ends up getting all over my hands.

People who wear extremely strong perfume/cologne. I shouldn't have to smell you when you aren't even in eyesight and especially in a hospital.

I work in a hospital and I was doing my rounds in the morning and I walk through this hallway that literally reeked of someones perfume... and they weren't even in sight... no one was. I won't even wear stuff like that to work even if it's not strong because of patients and for consideration to others. I have asthma and walking through that almost sent me into an attack.

People who stop at the bottoms of escalators.

Escalators scare me ANYWAY - I HATE them. and I avoid them whenever possible. But whenever I am on one, there's always a least one person who stops at the bottom blocking traffic. it's like HELLO - do you WANT me to get sucked underneath? :p

It's painted on the ground at the top of the escalators in Australia especially at the train stations to not stop at the top. I guess people get to the top and start looking for their train instead of walking away or to the side. Of course everyone behind them has no place to go. I made it a point to walk to the side what does hubby do? Stop. LOL

My new boss is my pet peeve.

He likes to put down all of my decisions and make me feel like I don't know what I am doing. The funny thing is that I have been doing this for 8 years and I am the only one that does this job for the company. He likes to get me on the phone on Fridays and ruin my weekend.

People that keep ramming their opinions down your throat, and stating that their opinions are based on facts, when they are actually based on opinions!

^I agree 100%. Or people who shove religion down your throat. Don't want this thread to turn all religious or anything, but this morning I was sitting in my English class and we were talking about religion and my friend asked me what the difference was between my religion and for example Catholicism. I told her the one main difference, and she threw it back in my face with a matter-of-fact tone, rather than a "well I believe..." It hurt my feelings. :(

People who whine about stupid things. Whenever a teacher assigns homework in school the entire class groans. It's like...people...we've been doing this for 11 years. I think there's been enough time for the shock to have worn off, no?

Another one, related... I've noticed a LOT more racism in the past few months in my area. Lots of affluent white people in my county that are pissed that Obama won. Hey if you voted, then you voted. the people spoke. If you didn't vote, then you should shut the hell up. I'm upset as hell about prop 8 passing (anti gay marriage) but the people of CA spoke.

Come to think of it, politics in general is a pet peeve of mine.

I hate it when people try to tell you who to vote for before an election. Then gloat when their guy wins, then if/when their guy does something that stirs everyone up they deny they ever voted for him. Well, somebody did his sitting in the Oval Office! UGH!
