Cool Stuff I see in My Yard 4 Attachment(s) Does anyone have pictures to share from your yard ? I was looking at my pictures and thought I'd post some cool ones - here are a few Nature Shots I got this year of things I get to see up close and personal in my yard while outside watching the girls. 1. The Little Baby Birds - I watched them be born... then learn to fly.... 2. The Mom Bird sitting on her nest - the mom and dad took turns 3. The Tallest Sunflower - It was like a Jack in the Beanstalk plant ...just kept going and going 3. A Cardinal trying to get Seeds from the Sunflowers after the stalks died - the seeds are still in the heads. I took this shot at 6 in the morning |

I love it too - with the seasons changing - I'll really miss sitting out there watching the action - Last week I saw a squirrel about 50 feet PLUS in the air running in the trees - he went to jump to another tree - and MISSED !! he fell all the way to the ground ...and when I went to see if he was ok - he was gone...... |

I LOVED those baby birds too - I used to watch mom feeding them - I even left stuff out for them and she'd get it and give it to the babies - they let me get right up to the nest - they would talk to me ....but not attack |

Isn't it really cool Kimberly ? I got quite a few shots of them like that - I'd sneak up on them - they'd be sleeping then I would click my tongue .... They would SHOOT straight up with their mouths open waiting for something to drop in - it was sooooo cool...I think they thought I was their mom. |

lol...that or my Fence Hunk ! Sylvia made that Cartoon and it was so perfect - We really had a cop on my fence JUST like that last spring after a guy was caught breaking into the house next door to me where Ray Ray the Terrier lives - they chased the guy right into my yard and Me..Chanel and Cheri watched them TAKE HIM Down - So she made that picture in memory of that day - too bad the cop didn't look like THAT ! I'd have broken the law right then and there to get arrested...saying FRISK ME PLEASE ! :D |

One day.....we too will have a yard....*sigh* VERY cool pictures, my favorite is the baby birds! How neat to watch them be born, grow up and become big birdies, LOL. That's awesome. Thanks for sharing! I love nature. Oh and sunflowers, too. I want a whole garden of those monsters like yours! |
The pics were awesome! They gave me a real sense of serenity. I love to sit on my porch in the morning and sip coffee and watch the squirrels and birds! |

Wow, if I had that much cool stuff going on in my yard, I'd pitch a tent! Great pictures. That first one of the birds is incredible. I'm surprised the mama let you get that close. |

Great pics, Villette!!! I love nature shots .... and I will keep my eye out for a guy like that up here in Colorado!! :) My fave also is the baby birds! I have some old pics [somewhere] that are kinda neat but haven't even tried to get any in a long time. I wish I could get a shot of "Yellow Cat" sneaking over our courtyard wall ... that sucker sleeps in my planter at night!! ;) |
Villette, I just love the first pictures since I love nature so much. When I had my condo and had a large porch where I could have all the flowers I wanted; I noticed a lot of coming and going of a robin and thought nothing of it. Next day took a hanging plant in, put it in the sink to water and low and behold as I was just ready to turn the water on, I heard a "peep". Yes, the mom had built a nest in this planter and I was about to drown her babies..............oh how bad I would have felt. Out it went and I made a point to watch them grow and fly off. Bet that Mom was glad to get them away from me. Ha. |
Such beautiful pictures - left me speechless! Well, except for the cartoon pic, that one made me laugh!! There is so much nature that surrounds our yard here, guessing I will need to grab my camera and get busy! :D |
