When I made the switch to bifocals a couple of years ago I got progressive so I have never known anything different. I don't have a problem. I have heard that people who had regular bifocal have a hard time switching to the progressive. I even have bifocal contacts. |
Oh I love my progressive lenses. I went from no glasses to progressive. There was some adjustment, but once I got accustomed to them, I would never consider regular bi's. |
Oh no, Judy I hope you get use to them soon. There's not much else worse than when your glasses don't fit right or something else is wrong with them. I have had progressive bifocals for at least 4 years now and I think their great. It only took me a couple of days to get use to them. Good Luck, Judy. :goodluck: |

I remember the first time I got bifocals. It was quite frightening and yes, the steps were a nightmare. I have trifocals now and with my prescription strength, they won't make them in the progressive lenses.:rolleyes: So Judy, does that mean you're getting older or are you just using your eyes too much on YT?:D LOL Hey did you get exotic frames or anything cool? I got burgandy frames with the wide sides last month. They are "totally cool" (so the little neighbor girl tells me). |
It takes time, I have been in Bifocals for about 5 years now. I think I may need trifocals.The worst part for me was walking down steps. |
I LOVE mine. When my dr first told me I needed bifocals, I said "no lines". So I started off with them and never knew anything else. |
These are my first "bifocal" types. Prior to this it was just readers. I got very good at keeping a pair on my head.:rolleyes: Actually, it's day 2 and I think I'm already adjusting... I will not respond to comments about my age;):yelrotflmno matter who makes them. Yes, I think they are cool. Although, they aren't anything like the ones I remember picking out.:rolleyes: |
I wear progressives too...took me a while to get used to them...It takes a while to learn to move your head and not yours eyes (If you've ever worn bifocals). The thing with mine is...I don't wear big frames so there isn't much of the near vision to look through...I quilt,so if I am sewing I wear readers instead of my glasses....which is dumb! then I can't see the tv!! My eye doctor told me that I could get the rounded bifocal and there really isn't any line..you can however still see the bifocal...it just isn't so pronounced...I'm vain and don't want the line. I also wear contacts (bifocal) I do need to wear readers when I need to see close...because I have an astigmatism the contact doesn't sit quite right for me to see real close. |
I've only had the progressives, never had the other kind didn't like the obvious line in the lense. But it did take me a few weeks to get used to them. Stairs were scary, LOL :eek: |
