Hmmmm......I don't ever watch, but did tonight after reading so much about them. Its sad, sounds like they have pretty much made their minds up to split. Kate seemed like she was trying to say Jon wasen't any help, but in a round about way instead of her normal quotes I have read from her. Anyway, it was sad when the little girl kissed her daddy and said she didn't want him to leave again...he just said Daddy has to work....but, you could tell he was on the brink of tears. Angie |
I couldnt stand her saying all the alone stuff either and as far as we know John has been doing it alone while she was on the book tour. I felt really sad when watching this episode, when he showed up at the bday party and they didnt hug or even say hi, so sad. I want it all to work out, just for those kids. I love all the past seasons but i dont know if i want to watch this one, Kate and her fansy cloths, the kids wondering where daddy is. it all sounds terrible. |
This is very sad. We don't even know if what they are saying is true. Who knows? Editing can change facts. I conclude they are dong the show for money, at the expense of their children. Kate comes across as a Bit** to me. I would not want to be at the end of her jabs and comments. I wonder if they ever go to church? In the beginning they acted like their values were built on Christian beliefs. Maybe if they could get back to that they would have hope. JMO Kate seemed really happy at the birthday party. She had her "bodyguard" at the party. It is too bad they have camera's everywhere. Money corrupts very easily, I feel like they sold out, left their values for the almighty dollar. I feel sad for them. |
The whole situation makes me sad. I've watched the show from the beginning and have always enjoyed it. It's very different now. I hope Jon and Kate can work this all out. It's so sad - cheating puts everyone in such a terrible position. What a lot of headaches for a muscle spasm! |
I feel very sad for them all. I can't imagine living your life under the microscope all the time. I truly hope there was no cheating and they can work things out. As far as Kate being a b&$ch - if you were trying to manage a household of that size, I think we would all be like that to an extent. Jon had said in past episodes that he didn't like the way Kate was portrayed on the show and she really wasn't like that. With regard to Aunt Jodi and her brother Kevin - you never saw him on any of the episodes as he opted to not be shown. Anyone who appears does get compensation, so when they moved into the new house away from Aunt Jodi and her kids, they were no longer getting paid from the show. So keep in mind that money motivates MANY people and how do we know that wasn't their motivation for the interview (which I'm sure they were also paid for)?! I was a little surprised last night to hear that Jon had quit his job as that had not been mentioned in the past season at all. It does also sound like he is resentful of being left with the kids, regardless of the help they might have and takes off as soon as Kate comes home. He also stated that he was there for the kids when we was at home, where Kate says when at home she is 100% there for the family. |
I bet if they could do it all over again, they would only do 1 or 2 seasons and then stop. It seems to be like an addiction, all the money and trips and free stuff...your judgement is clouded and it's hard to make a clear decision to say STOP. I wonder if any of this would've happened if they didn't have this show. I'm praying for them. I know she's disrespectful to him and probably many others, but people can learn lessons and do better. I hope they both learn from this, stop doing this show, salvage their family and make it work. |
I just watched it and I am done with the show. That was a heart wrenching episode...:( There is just no entertainment value in watching a family collapse. I can't think of a single positive thing those cameras add to their life. |

The way I understand it is that the way it comes across on TV is not all accurate. Yes, they are going through something & are not very happy at the moment but it doesn't necessarily mean they are at they're tail end of their marriage. Kate's sister was interviewed saying it's sad how they're stuck in their contracts for at least through this season and they pretty much edit and put on TV what viewers want to see, the drama of it all now that all the tabloids and the ugly side of trouble marriages has reared it's ugly head. Too bad they can't work on it without the cameras but that's pretty much what you sign up for when you sign on the dotted line for "x" amount of years/seasons, especially to have cameras follow you 24/7. It was also agreed in the beginning that Kate would do the traveling and promoting of the show & book while Jon stayed at home but of course, that too was eventually gonna bring on stress & strain to the marriage/situation.. It was very hard & sad to watch last night...and to see them sitting on the couch like that...very sad & I'm really hoping Dr. Phil pays a visit... j/k Okay maybe Oprah??.. alright...nevermind... just lots of prayers for the children! |

If the viewers all stop watching it then the ratings would go way down and Kate would lose her money. Then they'd have to support their family on their own like the rest of us in the real world. It's not a reality show, most of it is scripted and they know to do just enough drama to keep people tuned in. If Kate and John were just an ordinary couple doing the daily deeds of working and raising a family they'd be too boring. Ordinary people are boring. Infedelity happens and it's possible to get through it if the couple have enough love to make it right again. They each have to realize what caused it and work on those issues. It's not usually all one sided. Something is broken to begin with. Plus I have to say....I'm sure glad my brother's would never turn on my like her brother did. Wow what a piece of poop he is. Blood should be thicker then water no matter what. What adult sibling really wants to do something like that to a brother or sister? Oh well....lifes a beach!! lol! |

On reality shows there is the "talent" and then there are the bit players who agree to be on camera. Not everyone is under contract and not everyone who appears on camera is paid. Yes, editing is done, and it does skew things for sure. They are contracted employees of TLC. It is not a blood contract and they could choose to break that contract and walk away. Would they lose some things? Yes. THINGS. I could never put a price tag on my family. |
We could have made a drinking game for every time Kate said " alone", and would have been toasted":) It was very sad, it looks to me that Jon has "checked out", and I'm not convinced that Kate can get over all of her resentment. Very sad for the kids. |
I felt extremely sad watching the episode! I hope for their sake and the sake of their children they will do everything possible to work things out. I think they started out with the best of intentions and did what they thought was best and it snowballed into something else. People continue to grow and change and it's hard when you start going in different directions. I felt it was very obvious that both sides are in alot of pain, so sad! |
