Dad needs help wedding song!
 

I have two daughters one getting married April 11th, I have daddy daughter song for her Heartland "I LOVED HER FIRST", I have another daughter getting married a month after that. I am trying to find a song for her dance. She said I could use my 1st daughter's song well need to say my first daughter said no. I'm not getting in the middle of them I would never win, so I'm asking for suggestions for my second daughters dance.

Butterfly Kisses

Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle is a very good song for the father daughter dance. My sister danced to it and I danced to "I loved her first". Here are the lyrics if you don't know the song:

Oh my gosh. I've heard the name of the song before, but never knew the lyrics. I know it makes my dad cry... And I just teared up reading it. :cry::cry:

Sorry I can't come on this thread anymore. My dad passed away last July and I will never be the same. We danced to "Daddy's little Girl" and the whole place was touched. Even the bartenders had tears in their eyes. We have been dancing to that song since I was a little girl. Every wedding we were both invited to, when that song came on no matter where we were in the room we would always make eye contact. There is a special bond between a father and a daughter that no one will know unless they feel it. God bless. Enjoy your day with your daughters. A day they will never ever forget.

This thread is very emotional for me because my dad was never there for me and even though i had a small private wedding i still needed him there....also I know that if I ever have my dream wedding I have to cut this part of the ceremony out :confused: i always told myself i was better off without him, but whenever i go to a wedding or a quinceanero which is our heritage sweet 15 or a sweet 16 i have to leave the room when the daughter dances with the dad because i start crying....it sucks but to those girls that do have their dad, like my little girl, cherish them forever.:thumbup:

I used Faith Hills version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow from the Wizard of Oz because that was my favorite movie as a kid and my dad would watch it with me a lot. I also really like Butterfly Kisses. Good luck choosing a song let us know what you pick.

We are using Somewhere Over The Rainbow for the photo video at our daughter's wedding.

My daughter danced to this with her dad on her wedding day. It was a beautiful dance and not a dry eye! It is by John McDermott, called Daughter of Mine.

I LOVE this song but since he lost his little girl I can never listen to it without thinking about how sad and tragic it is for him and his family...I end up tearing up because it breaks my heart. It would kill the whole mood....

I danced with my step-father to Nat/Natalie Cole's "Unforgettable" My dad had passed away 9 months before our wedding. I was blessed to have my "father" there with me though. LOVE him!

When my daughter gets married she'll have to pick 2 songs, one for her daddy and one for her "father", my DH, who has been the main male presence in her life. I plan on a mother/daughter dance as well. "I Hope You Dance" always kills me and makes me think of her every time I hear it!! Her and I danced to "Brown-Eyed Girl" at my wedding since I would sing that to her when she was a baby and has always been our song :p How do they grow so fast...??? Although, rereading this, some of the other choices seem much better. I lost my dad in '98 after a year long battle with lung cancer. Ironically, I heard this song on the radio right before he passed away. I miss my dad, but hearing that song made me feel like everything was ok.

My dad and I danced to "My Girl," because thats been one of my favorite's since I was very young. I love Tim McGraw's "My Little Girl" though. If my Papaw had been alive for my wedding, we would've danced to that song. Good luck with everything and blessings for your daughter's weddings!
