Firefox problems? I am going crazy so I am desperately hoping someone knows what's going on. Yesterday my mouse pointer went invisible. It is only visible if I am moving it. Today I realized my up/down arrows were sending me all the way to the top or bottom of the screen instead of moving in small increments. Now they aren't doing anything and neither is home, pg up, pg dn or end. I am on a laptop so it is a huge problem. Only my finger mousepad is working and I hate scrolling on that. Also, as I type the pointer flickers with each letter. I know it is Firefox causing this because everything works perfectly offline or on IE. I posted on the Firefox forum but it doesn't seem to be an active forum. I guess I might need to contact Firefox directly. Anyone else having this problem or know what in the heck is going on? |
Mine is working fine. I wonder if it'd help if you reinstalled it? ETA: Now I'm paranoid and feeling like mine is running slowly. :p |

It's working fine for me. I would try to reinstall. There is a problem called Foxmarks (I think) that can save your bookmarks as often as you want and then you can bring them up on any computer. Maybe save them in that? |
Have you tried googling the problem? Try using the words Firefox, mouse, and visible. |

DOn't worry, FIrefox saves your bookmarks automatically;) |
They aren't on IE. I did just install Foxmarks but all of a sudden, my arrow is normal. Pg up/pg dn are working and my up/down arrows keys are working when they want to. Home and end still nothing. This is so strange! I guess I'll go reinstall. |

I'm not sure if this applies to your situation: Cursor disappears in Firefox | Tremend Tech Blog By the way when I googed it your post on Yorkietalk came up first. :D It looks like others are having the same problem and some say it was after visiting certain sites. I wonder if spyware could be involved? |
I've been having some problems with the scroll thing sending me all the way to the bottom of the page but only on *some* websites. It seems to be working just fine when I'm on YT. Nancy- I just checked out the link that you posted....I have NO idea what they are talking about! |

Nancy that link you gave Julia is the F7 solution that seems to work for everyone but me. I've done it over and over and it doesn't seem to do anything. |

Maybe this will help. "Recreate Firefox Profile If none of the methods above work, it might indicate that there is some problem with the Firefox user profile. To fix the problem, you will have to create a new Firefox user profile. The user profile is used by the Firefox browser to save your personal settings such as passwords, bookmarks, and extensions. Close all windows of Firefox browser open on the desktop. Next, open the Start menu and select Run. In the Open field, type firefox.exe -ProfileManager and press the OK button. Select the existing corrupt profile and select the Delete Profile button to remove it. Next, select the Create Profile button, and follow the screen instructions to create the new profile according to your requirements. After creating the new profile, you may proceed to uninstall Yahoo toolbar using one of the methods discussed above. You may want to uninstall Yahoo toolbar from Mozilla Firefox if you are encountering frequent problems while working with it. You can remove the toolbar either by using the option available on the Pencil menu of the toolbar or by using the Firefox Extension manager. If you are unable to remove the toolbar using one of these methods, you may have to create a new Firefox user profile using the ProfileManger utility. After the uninstallation, you may also use a registry cleaner utility to scan the system registry and remove any obsolete entries or vacant spaces left behind by the toolbar. It is also recommended to keep your antivirus and anti-spyware software updated with latest virus definitions. This will enable you to ensure that no malicious code or files creep on to your PC and cause damage to your precious system."
